Chapter 3: An Unbelievably Good Offer

It's been five days and my life was oddly peaceful even though I'm in this distressful situation. I get to eat all the good-quality foods and have shopping sprees without even using my own funds. Most of all, as of now, he still hasn’t asked me to have sex.

To sum up how our five days of living together went, it's nothing special but rather evolved within cat fighting.

Every small chat turns into Pierre walking away with heavy feet and shutting doors. I discovered that his patience is very short and that we would always end up in a small fight naturally without even forcing it. We hated each other’s characteristics.

He is an ill-tempered man who acts like a brat when annoyed. The good thing about him is that he never shouted or raised his voice, he would simply ignore me and walk away which is what I strangely hate. I wanted him to come face my wrath and rebut my rants.

While in the other hand, he hates women who is very particular of everything. There are some girly stuff that I like, but he doesn't understand.

“This is the wrong sunscreen,” I spat while frowning.

“What do you mean? That’s what you asked for. A sunscreen with PA ++.”

“PA +++,” I corrected him.

“It’s just a missing symbol, Amanda.” He’s calm but his withering patience is still evident in his voice.

That happened a day ago. In the latter, we ended talking back against each other and when he finally walked away, giving up with my attitude, I laughed. His patience is short, so he easily gets bored and just leaves me. I found out it was the best way to avoid the worst.

I would lie if I said that I didn't have a lust for him during the past few days. He's hot, and what happened to us that night is still etched in my mind.

I would see him topless when he's in his fitness room and when he's swimming. You wouldn't imagine how hard I forced myself to act unbothered. I just avoid him as much as possible, and it actually works! Now my intrusive thoughts are not that bad anymore. I hope he is too.

"Madame," these guy still freaks me out for almost treating me like a roasted chicken. I feel like I was traumatized by the lamp stand he threw at me when I first encountered him.

"Harold, just Amanda," I casually stated as I was busy browsing my phone.

"I can't do that. Just bear with it." Oh did I forgot to tell you that he’s a brat too?

I laughed. I only live with two people in this huge house, and all of them has a mind boggling behavioral problem. Oh this is the worst punishment.

"Damn men with their annoying attitudes." I cussed, and Pierre just raised an eyebrow at me. I caught Pierre’s glimpse, who’s seated in front of me busy with his phone too.

"I just came here to inform you that the furniture you ordered will arrive in a few minutes. Where should I instruct them to place it?"

"In Pierre's room," I uttered. Both men are surprised.

I sighed, "Just leave it outside his door. I’ll come by later."

"No. I'm confused why you got him a desk."

"Nothing special, it doesn't fit in my room anymore, that's why. Do you want a desk too? It’s Pierre’s money anyway, so why not?"

"No thanks. I'll be waiting outside. Call me when you’re ready madame, " and he left like he wasn’t cussing me inside his head.

"That's so sweet of you," Pierre said sarcastically. I pierced him using my gazes. At my state, I don’t even care if I die here.

"Yeah, you should thank me." I reciprocated his energy.

"Really? From my own funds?" he asked in disbelief.

"Are you trying to weigh everything?"

He seemed surprised by what I said. He did all of this from his own accord. Few seconds after, he shook his head and continued to check his cellphone.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you..." His gaze moved onto me as I stated another word. "My maid and my dog are coming over. They are living here too."

"Okay." That was all he answered. "When?"

"Now."

He frowned. He was annoyed. I took my gazes somewhere away from him but returned it with a smile. It's my fault because I should have said it yesterday, but I forgot.

"I don't like dogs. Make sure that your dog is well-behaved, as well as the maid. It's already too mind-boggling handling one brat," he answered rudely.

"You're trying to relay something?" I said in a calm but irritated manner. The person in front of me just nodded with a sarcastic smile.

I stood up and left. I left him. It looks like we're just going to fight again. I just prepared myself for the work I had to do later. And when I say work... You know it's illegal.

I reviewed my target's profile. A 76-year-old man who owns several real-estate companies. I looked closely at his picture. Based on the picture, he seems like a nice person. His smiles are warm, and his eyes are cheerful too. You wouldn't guess that this man has been molesting his own granddaughter.

I poked his head with a ballpoint pen and made a hole in the picture. "This is where the bang goes later," I murmured.

My gears are ready. I have also set up my location. These types of commissions are the best. I don't need to disguise or socialize. I just need an immediate, perfect shot. From the building that was a few hundred meters away where my target was, I watched what was happening through the sniper’s scope.

Elite people are inside. Of course, it's an important person’s birthday. But the thing is, that important person only has a few minutes to live. I looked around the venue and everyone is off-guard. The family, and every guests are gathered, it looks like the event has already started.

According to my client, the party will start with him performing a piano piece. He especially asked to let him finish playing the piano, as it is his last offer and farewell to his grandfather before he dies.

To feed your curious mind, the one who hired me to kill this man is his own grandson. I heard that he is also his heir. But this wasn’t planned for the purpose related to his inheritance. He hired me to kill his own grandfather for finding the truth about his grandfather’s sexual molestation with his sister, who’s also the target’s own granddaughter. How ludicrous.

I laughed when I remembered it again as I watched him playing the piano inside. He is so deserving of death. Their walls are transparent on the side where I am, so I can vividly see what is happening with the scope.

I waited for his performance to finish. When every attention is given to his grandfather speaking on stage, his life's countdown starts. Then, a bang alerted the crowd. The target fell onto the floor, as a bullet hits his head perfectly.

The people inside the room panicked, some people ran, leaving the lifeless man while some attended him and are looking around where the shot came from. His family members ran to him. The client turned to me, and even though he didn't see me, I could see him through the scope. He nodded, then pretended to panic.

It was a wrap. I fixed everything and then went home. Pierre's mansion is quiet, as usual. But I was excited to arrive in his home for a reason.

"C'mon!" I shouted in joy when I saw my dog. Cala ran towards me at full speed, then jumped.

"Hi baby, I missed you," I said happily and then kissed her. My precious princess seemed so happy to see me as she always do.

Someone cleared his throat behind me to grab my attention."I suppose you just came from a hunt?" Pierre asked calmly.

I looked behind my back and looked up to see him towering me because my knees are bent while playing with Cala. He looks so hot in his plain black shirt that fits his body. He's holding a coat and looks like he just got home too.

"A man hunt, " I answered, he sneered.

"Well, I have someone I want to be taken down too."

I stood up with my brows furrowed.

"Who?" I asked curiously.

"Follow me." That was all he said, then walked inside.

I followed him and left Cala. Cala tried to follow us at first but stopped when he was distracted by his squishy toy on the stairs. Pierre and I entered his room. He went straight to the office and dropped his things on the table. I sat on a sofa and unintentionally got a closer look at his coat. It’s bloody.

"What's with all this blood?" I asked.

"Man hunting." He imitated my answer earlier before opening the drawer in the desk I bought for him. Of course, with his own money. But then, with all other thoughts aside, I am still curious as to why would he ask me to kill someone if he could?

"I have my reasons," he uttered as if he read what was in my mind.

He came holding a white folder. He sat on a couch in front of me and gently dropped what he was holding on the table.

"What's the level of difficulty?" I immediately asked before opening the folder.

"I'd say 5, but it depends on who will do it. It could be 9 or 10."

"And how much will you pay me?" I asked again.

"You choose. Either cash or a wish."

I frowned at what he said. My lips formed a playful smile. "You mean, if I choose to wish, whatever I ask, you shall grant me?" My nerves are getting excited. He nodded.

"Only once, though."

"But you're already giving me the things I want. You said you'd give me anything I want. What's the difference then?"

He chuckled sexily and leaned on the couch. "You're smart. That's why I like you." What he said strangely gave me butterflies, but I tried to hide it and not make it obvious.

"That depends on what you wish for, dearie. Think about it properly. Oh, right. Wishing for our contract to end is prohibited."

"Hmm, okay. I'll choose a wish. But first I will think about what I will ask for. I'll update you if I think of anything."

He nodded and said it was okay. I opened the folder I was holding. "You'll attend a certain party. I'll be there too. I want that man to be assassinated on the same night. He's a jerk. He'll easily bite into a woman's trap. I want you to make it look like he committed suicide or met a drastic accident. I know you’re experienced enough to hide evidences and avoid being caught." He explained.

"Wait, no picture?" I immediately hissed. I have a traumatic experience for a situation like this.

"You'll know he's the target at first glance," he said with a smile while convincing me to not worry about it.

"Don't even make me play like Holmes here," I said, annoyed.

He just laughed but ignored me. "Vital statistics, complexions, and any other information about his physical appearance is there, " he stated but it is still not assuring enough. Maybe this is his way of punishing me for annoying him for the past few days? Ugh. Well, the price is good anyway. I'll make sure to ask for something extravagant in return.

Harold entered just in time. He caught Pierre's attention.

"Burn my coat, " he ordered him immediately as he entered. Harold nodded, took the coat, and immediately left. I also stood up. Ready to go.

"I'll just review it, " I said, holding up the white folder. He nodded. I also left his office.

While I was walking, I can’t help but fall into my deep thoughts. Why does he need to make it mysterious? Can’t he just say who the target is? And he said I would know the target at first glance. Like how? What does he mean? Is it someone I know? Damn it. He's making my head ache.
