“Where am I?” I groaned, massaging my head as it throbbed.

As my eyesight cleared, I stood up from the bed where I was, then headed to a window. Peeking out, I saw a bustling road down below, nothing like our pack.

“You're awake,” I heard a voice behind me, causing me to turn around and face the man who tried to kill me twice now.

“Who are you?” I questioned, searching for anything to defend myself with.

“Well,” he started walking towards me like a predator marking its prey. “I'm someone who has been there since your birth,” he answered cryptically before looking at the door. “Eat. You are going to need it,” he said as a trembling woman walked in with a tray and placed it on the bed. Once she was done, they both left the room, locking it from outside.
