Chapter 76

CLAIRE's POV

I followed closely behind Aldean as we walked down the hallways of the witch’s house. Looking at his back now, I realized how broad they were and how much taller than me he was.

I peered at his side curiously, eager to see why we are going. Aldean had told me to follow him somewhere and my curiosity had gotten the better of me. I agreed immediately and he led me away from the experimental room.

We walked out of the hallway into the woods. My anxiety grew as we walked through the woods. Where exactly was he taking me? I suddenly began to question why I had even trusted him in the first place. I decided to speak up.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

Aldean turned to me and shot me his usual smile.

“You will see soon.” He said softly.

I continued following him, still anxious but I decided to trust him a little more. After walking for what felt like hours, we burst into a clearing and my mouth dropped open.

The clearing was large and filled with grass. It was surrounded by tre
