CLAIRE's POV

“I said, leave her alone,” I boomed again, just as the wolf turned her back on me.

I was trembling, shaking in my boots, but I was not about to back out just because she told me to. I would never be able to live with myself if I left a friend alone to be bullied and beat up while I stood there and watched like some coward.

The wolf turned back to me and glared at me.

“Did you not hear what I said, or are you deaf now?”

The other wolves around her laughed and giggled within themselves.

“Why don’t you teach her a lesson Tana?!” One wolf in the crowd yelled.

Tana smirked and walked closer to me. She looked at me from head to toe and I felt my knees buckle underneath me. Beads of sweat began to form on my forehead.
