Chapter 114

CORA's POV

The woods were foggy at this time of the morning and I despised the earthy smell it produced. As I walked down the woods, I looked around, being careful enough not to run into anyone.

No one had to know I was meeting up with him.

I walked around stealthily as I headed for my destination. Birds chirped in the distance, and the cool morning breeze blew by, but none of it mattered to me. I would rather be in bed, than walk down this muddy woods.

But I had to meet him.

I treaded deeper into the woods, until I reached the spot we agreed to meet. I paused and my eyes trailed around the area. There was no one in sight. Where the hell was he?

I walked over to a tree, having a red ribbon tied around it and ran my fingers along the ribbon. This was a symbol of our meeting place, so that meant that I was in the right place.

But where was he? I began to fume with anger. Was he late? How dare he make me wait this long?

As I paced around the woods I began to chew on my fingernails.
