Beta Liam, the man paced around with an air of concern, paces around his cosy living room. The warm glow of table lamps casts a comfortable ambiance, contrasting with his restless demeanour. He glances at his wristwatch impatiently.

The front door creaks open, and Rancel, a woman in her late twenties, enters. She was dressed casually, her hair slightly dishevelled. Her eyes meet Liam's, who immediately stops pacing.

Liam was trying to sound calm. “Hey, Rancel. You're finally back.” Rancel avoided his gaze momentarily before meeting his eyes with a smile that didn't quite reach them.

Rancel displayed disinterest but still apologised. “Yeah. Sorry, I have been caught up with a lot of things. Liam's eyes narrowed slightly, his concern turning into suspicion.

He became skeptical after hearing her words. “A lot of things, huh? It's been days, Rancel. You disappeared without a word. Where were you? What have you been doing?”

Rancel's smile wavered, and she shifted uncomfortably on her feet.

[Meagia’s pov] I knew he had a reason for keeping me here, locked within these opulent walls. Kaldir's intentions remained shrouded in mystery, an enigma I had been tirelessly trying to unravel. Days blurred into weeks, and the cycle of uncertainty continued. The door swung open, breaking the silence that had become my constant companion. Kaldir stood there, his presence both commanding and disconcerting. His voice, usually firm, took on an unexpectedly gentle tone."Meagia," he said, his eyes fixing upon me, "I have a proposition for you." My heart raced, for I had grown accustomed to his capricious decisions. Still, I managed a nod, wariness lingering behind my eyes."I thought it might be time for you to have something different," he continued, his gaze softening as it met mine. "I'm taking you to the market today. I want to buy you some dresses."The words hung in the air like a delicate thread, weaving a tapestry of confusion within my mind. Dresses? Why now, and what ulterior

The Lycans were formidable creatures, proud and fierce, but my contacts had assured me of Meagia's well-being. She was alive, hidden away from the wolven territories that threatened our existence. As I peered into the heart of the Lycan territory, my mind raced with plans and contingencies. I knew that brute force wasn't the answer, a war with the lycan king would on

But my thoughts were far from the mundane, caught in the enigmatic words of the old woman who had crossed my path. The memory played in my mind like a broken record, her voice piercing through the clamour of the market: "Behold the gift from the goddess, the shining star among us!" The urgency in her tone had been palpable, her eyes locked onto mine as if she held some truth that I was yet to discover.A frown creased my brow as I hurriedly looked through the throngs of people, the scent of fresh produce mingling with the aromatic spices that filled the air.
