Hazel’s POV
“Happy anniversary to me,” I whispered, staring at the grey sky and drizzled rain, reflecting my sorrowful mood as I stood at the prison gates, burdened by lost dreams.
My legs trembled as I stepped away from the gate, trying to find a place to sit, but the laughter of the other inmates stopped me.
"Hey dirt, thirty minutes isn't enough. Stand for another!" The head lady sneered, her voice sharp and cruel. My throat tightened as I fought back the tears.
I had been ordered to stand for thirty minutes just because I dozed off while she asked me to wash her clothes. I pressed a hand to my abdomen, where the pain throbbed like a drum.
I had a miscarriage due to the continuous torture I received and wasn’t even treated properly. Each breath felt heavy, and I struggled to keep my composure.
With a soft hiss, I stood there, trembling, while the cruel laughter echoed around me. I squeezed my eyes shut, wishing to disappear, to escape the mocking faces that surrounded me.
Just then, the cell door creaked open, and a guard walked in. "You're free to go now, Hazel. Come with me." His voice was flat, but my heart raced with hope.
I had completely forgotten that today was my release day. “You’re one lucky dirt,” the head lady, who had tormented me, called out. I turned back to look at them one last time, wishing I could give them a taste of their medicine.
As I followed the guard, I wondered what was next. Was I really free, or was this just another cruel joke? The guard who had brought me out handed me a bundle of plain clothes that looked like rags to change.
A month earlier, I was meant to leave, but my fiance Adrian had deemed me unworthy of freedom, insisting on another month to teach me a lesson. But what lesson could come from the cruelty I faced?
I changed my clothes, taking a deep breath of the crisp air, before stepping out of one of the most brutal werewolf prisons, my eyes searching for a familiar face. But there was no one—no family, no friends, no warm welcome.
Just the stark reality of my new existence. The cold wind made me shiver, so I wrapped my arms around myself to stay warm. I stood there, waiting for my mate, Adrian Rune, the man I had loved all my life.
“Today is our anniversary; he will definitely come for me,” I thought. I had told him about my release, but hours went by and no one showed up. Not even my father.
I called them over and over, but no one picked up. As it got darker, I decided to walk down the road, hoping to find a cab to take me back to the city. But the prison was deep in the forest, making it hard to find one.
I limped along the road, my abdomen hurting more with every step. As I walked, I felt lonely and scared. "Where is Adrian?" I thought.
"Why didn't he come for me? Did he forget I was being released today?" The rain soaked my clothes, making me shiver more. The longer I walked, the more lost I felt, unsure if I was going the right way.
Suddenly I heard the bushes moving. My heart began to race as I thought of all the scary things that could be hiding there. As I stood frozen in fear, I noticed a pair of glowing eyes shining in the dark.
The eyes stared at me, making me feel even more afraid. The eyes came closer, revealing two huge wolves that looked ready to attack me. Scared, I stepped back, trying to keep my balance.
Before I could react, the wolves shifted into their human forms. Two rough-looking men stood in front of me, their faces tough and threatening. Just by looking at them, I could tell they were rogues.
The men grinned at me, their eyes scanning my body. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" One of them said, moving closer. I felt my legs shake, knowing I couldn't fight back in my current state.
"Please… I just want to get home," I pleaded, my voice trembling. One of the men laughed, his eyes shining with evil. "Oh, poor girl, it’s already late; you can come stay with us," he said, sounding very sarcastic.
But I knew they didn't really want to help me. A voice in my head screamed, "Run!" I couldn't run fast enough, but I had to try. With a quick move, I turned and ran into the forest, my hurt legs screaming in pain.
I cried out for help, hoping my mate was nearby. "Help! Please, Adrian, help me!" My heart raced, and I could barely catch my breath. I didn't notice what was in front of me and tripped, falling into a hole.
A sharp pain shot through my stomach, the same pain I had felt for months since my miscarriage in prison. As I held my stomach, the rogues towered over me, their eyes shining with cruelty.
"Please, let me go. I beg you," I whispered, but they didn't listen as one of them grabbed my legs. I felt like this was the end, so I shut my eyes, ready to accept whatever would happen.
But then I heard a voice from behind: "Let her go now, or you won’t see the light of day tomorrow!" The rogues stopped moving, their grip on me starting to loosen.
I opened my eyes and saw a rugged man stepping out of the shadows, his presence strong and powerful. He had broad shoulders, and his dark hair had some grey in it.
The rogues quickly backed away, knowing they would be in trouble if they stayed. I lay there uncomfortable, breathing hard, as the mysterious man approached me.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice both strong and kind. I nodded, still trying to catch my breath. He reached out his hand to help me out of the hole.
"Wh... who are you?" I stuttered, looking up at the man who had rescued me. He smiled, his eyes shining even in the dark. "I sensed you were in danger, Hazel."
Fear hit me hard when I heard him say my name. "I just want to go home, please," I pleaded, crouching down and covering my head. My voice broke as I whispered, "Please don’t kill me."
The man was surprised by my reaction. I had changed so much that I hardly recognised myself. I used to be lively and beautiful, but now my eyes were dull, filled with fear.
The werewolf prison had changed me, making me a shadow of who I once was. "I’m not going to hurt you; let’s get you home now," the man said, his voice steady and calm.
I slowly raised my head with tears in my eyes. I didn’t trust him, but I felt I had no choice. I carefully walked with him out of the forest and got into the car, keeping my distance from him.
I huddled in a corner, still shivering from the rain and cold. I wondered who this man was and why he knew my name, afraid that his kindness might be a trick.
As we drove under a bridge, the moonlight lit up the man’s face, showing his features clearly. He seemed a little familiar, but I couldn’t remember where I had seen him before. The ride was quiet, and soon we arrived at the Blue Moon Pack.
"Thank you for saving me; I owe you one," I said as I got out of the car. I didn’t want to ask any more questions; I just wanted to see my family and Adrian, even though he was the one who made sure I ended up in prison.
When I stepped into the packhouse, I was shocked to find a lively party happening. “Was this a surprise for me and Adrian’s anniversary?” I asked myself.
The hall was dim, and no one noticed me because I looked so unkempt, like a maid in rags. As I scanned the room, my eyes landed on Adrian, my mate, up on stage with my step sister Thalia.
The same sister who had framed me for trying to kill her. Adrian's arms were wrapped around Thalia’s waist, and I felt my heart break into tiny pieces. But that was just the beginning of my pain.
Then came the announcement, and I froze in disbelief. "Let’s all cheer for the new owner of the Labrinth wine company!"
What?! I couldn’t believe it. Thalia, the person who had destroyed my life, was now in charge of the company that rightfully belonged to me.
Hazel’s POVTears streamed down my face as I realized the truth. Thalia had not only framed me for trying to kill her but had also taken my company and my mate. I was sent away when I was just 7 after my father got remarried, and then I returned later. At first, my father was happy and wanted to make up for lost time. But Thalia started to ruin everything for me. Little by little, she pushed me away. By the time I turned 22, Thalia had told so many lies that everyone believed her. Thalia accused me of trying to kill her because of Adrian. No one listened to my side of the story. They sent me to jail without a second thought. They never believed me—not even once! My fiancé even turned against me, calling me guilty. I staggered back, feeling as if I had been hit in the stomach. How could my father betray me like this again? How could Adrian forget our special day and celebrate with Thalia instead? Just then, I realized Adrian had seen me, so I rushed out of the hall, tears streaming
Hazel’s POVIt was a maid who wanted to use the toilet. “Get out now,” Adrian yelled at the top of his voice. “I’m sorry,” the maid said before hurrying out."Did you just call me a slut?" I asked, my smile hiding my anger. "Just because I have feelings for you doesn't mean you can call me names Adrian," I said, my voice low and even. I gripped my gown, my hands shaking with anger. I wanted to hit him very hard just so he could feel the slightest pain I felt in that prison, but I couldn’t.I wanted to be in the arms of my mate, telling him how I suffered in prison even after my miscarriage, but he didn’t even care that we had a child together; it was really heartbreaking."It’s Thalia's day. Just remember to behave and don't cause trouble. Thalia is nothing like you." My heart sank at his words. To Adrian, Thalia was a precious treasure, while I was worthless, not even good enough to be his Luna. I smiled again, fed up with his words; I cleaned the tears that dropped from my eyes. A
Hazel’s POVMy eyes fluttered open, and I looked around, trying to figure out how I ended up in this room. "Ouch," I winced, sitting up and cradling my throbbing head. The pain was intense. As I scanned the quiet room again, I wondered where everyone had gone. I struggled to recall what happened the day before, but all I could remember was being on stage before everything went black. “Did Thalia really poison the wine?” I thought, my mind racing with questions. I grabbed my phone to check the time and realised I had been out for almost the whole day. Summoning my last bit of energy, I stood up and made my way downstairs. As I got closer, I overheard my father, my blood, saying awful things about me.“That useless girl has shamed this family; Thalia will always be better than her,” Alpha Dorian said. I fought back tears, but it was too hard. A lump formed in my throat as I descended the stairs. When they spotted me, everyone fell silent. My father stormed up to me in a rage and hit me
Hazel’s POVI stood in the rain, feeling more alone than ever. The cold drops soaked my clothes, but the chill inside me was worse. I felt like a disgrace, tossed out by the only family I knew. No one wanted me. Then, a memory flashed in my mind. The mysterious man had given me his number, telling me to call if I needed help. With shaky fingers, I dialed. “Hello,” I said when he picked up. “I…” My voice trailed off, lost in my sadness. “Turn around. You’d see a black car. Come meet there,” he said. I turned quickly, and there it was—a sleek black car waiting for me. Hope stirred in my chest as I walked over and opened the door, stepping inside to escape the storm outside.I sat in the front seat as the car pulled away. I took one last look at my father's house, knowing I might not come back after what I decided today. In the distance, I noticed Adrian watching us through the window, with Thalia beside him holding his arm. A strong feeling of anger and jealousy washed over me.They
Alpha Draven’s POVIt was Reina, my long-time friend from the pack. A smile crept onto my face as I thought about how much I missed our conversations. I wondered how she knew I was back in town. News always seemed to fly fast in the pack, and I wasn't really surprised. As I read her message, I felt a mix of excitement and curiosity about what she wanted to talk about. Maybe she had news to share, or perhaps she just wanted to catch up. Either way, I was ready to see what Reina had to say. I quickly typed back to Reina, "Can’t wait to see you too," feeling a rush of excitement. But then I dropped my phone on the couch, the soft thud echoing in the quiet room. I stood up and made my way to my room, but I paused outside Hazel’s door. I felt a pull to check on her.I pushed the door open carefully, not wanting to wake her. As I stepped inside, I saw her lying on the bed, looking battered and worn. My heart sank. I knew she was going through a lot, and I would do anything to help her,
Third Person POVThe smell of disinfectant filled the air, making Hazel uncomfortable as she opened her eyes. She sniffed incessantly, trying to get the smell away from her nose, but to no avail. She tried moving her body but noticed everywhere it hurt, especially her feet. She thought back on what she had done to get herself into a situation like this. She lay facing up, staring blankly at the ceiling as she brought back her thoughts: how Thaila had framed her for poisoning her drink and telling everyone that she had been to prison. How she had forced herself to drink the wine to prove to everyone that indeed she didn't poison the wine, and how she passed out because of how exhausted she felt. The painful memory of her father slapping her for the first time in a long while while he disowned his own daughter. She remembered the joy she felt from rejecting Adrian; she couldn't do anything against him.And even if he wanted Thaila, he still couldn't do anything, but watching him convul
Third Person POV"Oohh, what's this I hear about picking up girls late at night? That's so out of character for you, Draven." Robin’s voice emerged from the corner of the room. He winked slyly at Adrian, making him uneasy. Robin walked towards the two men, ignoring the tension between both of them. "It's none of your business, Robin." Adrian snapped at him; he hated being made of fools.Especially in front of his uncle, someone who was like a father to him. But Robin didn't seem bothered by his aggravation; if anything, it amused him. "So what's this about a girl in the rain? I hear, Adrian.”“I believe you indeed owe us some explanation." Robin twirled around, taking a comfort seat between the two men. He gently patted the handles of both seats by his side. Draven, unfazed by Dante, simply took a chair and sat in it. Adrian, on the other hand, didn't feel comfortable about doing this in any way. He hesitantly took a seat; the positions of the seat made it seem as though the three m
Third Person POVDraven drove as fast as he could, ignoring everyone and everything in his way. He sped ahead without breaking speed. Soon enough, he was at the gate of his estate. He parked inside and immediately got out, running to his suite where he left her. He barged into the room. “Noah! What the hell happened?" His voice boomed across the room. Noah who had been expecting him gently stood up and handed him a piece of paper. He took it from Noah and read it over and over again. "What does she mean by good-bye? She has no one or nowhere to go; why did she leave? Her family won't accept her back," Draven said. He walked around agitated, trying his best to figure out the intentions of Hazel ."Noah, tell me everything you noticed about her; don't leave out a single detail." Draven said walking around, he couldn't sit down, not right now; he needed her so badly."Well, when I saw her, she did seem a bit off; there was no spark in her eyes, no light whatsoever; someone who had giv
Third Person POVHazel blinked twice just to be sure she didn't imagine what she just saw; she looked where Adrian was and couldn't see him anymore, like he had just vanished, the same way that wolf had."Noah, Adrian is gone!" she shouted from where she stood. Noah looked in their direction and looked at where Adrian was. Immediately he backed away from Draven, keeping the distance between them. Draven seemed less violent, although he was being held back by something or someone invisible. Noah saw his chance and immediately melted into the shadow beside a tree, leaving Draven all by himself alone. She looked around for Noah amongst the trees but couldn't find him. She suddenly heard someone breathing raggedly in her room. She turned around and saw Noah sitting on the floor of her room, drenched in sweat and little bruises all over his body; his tattoos remained unchanged while the rest of him looked exhausted."Are you okay?" She asked, rushing towards Slayer Side. He simply nodde
Third Person POVHazel sat in her bed, seeing the tension rise between both of them. She had expected Alpha Draven to be his usual insensitive self towards Adrian, but what she hadn't expected was Adrian challenging his uncle to a fight. The problem was, she knew just how strong Draven was; he was insanely powerful even amongst Alpha's, and now Adrian was going to challenge him. Before she could think any further, she saw Adrian jump towards his uncle, slashing him across the chest. She was scared beyond a doubt; she knew Adrian could lose his life, but what bothered her the most was his reason for fighting. Why was he trying too hard to win her over? She felt that Adrian truly didn't care or love her anymore, hence her abandonment. But would he risk his life for someone he didn't love? The question bugged my mind as Alpha Draven slowly stood up, the wound on his chest closing, the blood stopped flowing down, a wicked smile covered his face, she felt her heart drop, something was wron
Third Person POV"What..." Adrian said a few seconds too late. He turned around to see Draven standing at the door. He stood there unmoving, unbothered, and domineering. Adrian staggered back for a few steps. He wondered how much he had heard and the things he had said; he wasn't sure. "Is that what you said?”“Are you going to take responsibility for that, Adrian?" Draven asked him uncharacteristically; Adrian couldn't find his voice. He knew what he wanted to say; he wanted to scream yes, that he would take back his woman.Protect her even at the risk of him losing his life; he would burn the world if need be, just to please her. "What do you mean?" He found himself saying he regretted that he didn't feel confident enough to oppose his own uncle. He had to admit that this situation was a precarious one where no one could be held at fault, but that didn't mean he was going to get down and not do what he really wanted."You? Adrian?" His uncle asked, "Would you carry the burden of h
Third Person POVOne week passed and the pack was a bit peaceful with no attack from Zac’s pack. Hazel woke up feeling much better than she ever had in a very long while. She stretched her body as she woke up. The sweet smell of bread caught her attention. She looked her side and saw breakfast served. The maids have already come, and we're busy cleaning the rest of the rooms in the house. Hazel began thinking about how she was going to get accustomed to living like this. Everyone doing everything for her felt so unnatural, but she was the Luna, and things had to be done for her. "Good morning, Luna." She heard the familiar voice but didn't bother turning; she was getting used to his random appearances by now."Good morning Noah, how are you doing?" She asked him. "Very well, Luna," he responded. She took another chunk of bread and tore it slowly; the soft, buttery texture of the bread was overpowering and delightful."To what do I owe the visit this morning?" She asked, and Noah wa
Third Person POVDraven sat in his office, his head laying on the backrest of his chair while both his legs rested on the table. He heard a slight sound and opened his eyes. The room seemed a bit darker than it should have been."Noah," he said. "Yes, Master," a reply came back. Draven smiled at himself; he was the only one capable of knowing when Noah snuck into a room or was watching someone else, or him to be exact."Has Adrian settled himself in?" Draven asked. He closed both his eyes as he rocked on his seat back and forth."Yes, he's in his mother's room," Noah replied. Silence hung in the air for a bit longer. Draven sighed. "His countenance?" He proved further."Nostalgic and distant," he replied. "Good, he needs some time to himself; a man has to think once in a while," he responded, still rocking on his chair. He asked once more."Any reports on the family?" He asked. While the Labrinth family had come over for the wedding, Noah had sent some men to investigate the resident
Maddy’s POVWith a heavy sigh, I rose to my feet, my footsteps silent against the cold wooden floor. I approached the closet and pulled on a dark cloak to cover up my revealing nightwear, slipping it over my shoulders before tiptoeing towards the door. I slowly got out of the room and closed the door behind me. I had to make sure to be as discreet as possible so as not to wake up Zac as I walked down the hallway, heading for the dungeon. My footsteps quickened as I approached the entrance to the dungeon, and the fear and trepidation in my heart temporarily disappeared. However, my heart sank when I saw two very familiar men standing guard right outside the dungeon gates with a suppressed sigh. I took my stance in a commanding way with an authoritative aura."Let me pass," I ordered, my voice steady despite the nerves festering within me. The guards exchanged wary glances, their jaws tensing. "We were instructed by Alpha Zac never to let you see the prisoner again," one of them repl
Maddy’s POVI opened the door to find Zac only in a robe and a pair of shorts. "Come on, my love," I said to him, and he walked him while gazing at me in admiration and lust. I closed the door behind me and approached him slowly as I watched him stand and wait for me by the bed. I made as many seductive poses as possible, trying to make him lose control quickly. I finally got before him and began loosening his robe. I trailed my hand up his chest and glided down his shoulders, letting his robe completely fall to the ground with a small thud. "Maddy," Zac gasped as I kissed his neck and used my hands to tease his left nipple. I knew he had sensitive nipples, and I always enjoyed playing with them. Stroking his engorged member, I gazed at his list-filled eyes and kissed him, using my tongue to guide his. He replied furiously, but after a while, he was like a wild beast, just what I wanted. Our kiss turned into a little competition between fencers, but I was like a master fencer, ta
Hazel’s POVJust then, the physician came out of Draven's room. “The Alpha is..." he drawled before turning around again mysteriously. "Yes, what happened to the alpha?" Sam asked once more."I've managed to stop the bleeding, so you can be assured, but there's something else." In the heat of the moment, the physician meticulously walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. The elders that all had their gazes on me shifted it to the physician, and they all hurriedly gathered right before her like bees, their eyes filled with concern and worry for Alpha Draven.Amongst them, I could see the look in Sam's eyes; he seemed so worried about their Alpha, more worried than the rest. He suddenly stepped forward and spoke to the physician first."Noah?" He asked, his voice etched with worry and concern, as he fully came out. "Yes, what happened to the alpha?" Sam asked once more. With a deep breath, Noah finally spoke up, his voice carrying calmness in the chaotic atmosphere. "Well
Draven's POV As I finally approached the borders of our Pack, the sounds of fierce battle filled the air. I got to the main battlegrounds to find that the pack guardians were valiantly fighting against the intruders from Zac's pack, holding their ground as hard as they could. They did good and will be rewarded once this is all over. The other warriors and pack guardians joined in the fight, and soon everywhere was enveloped in smoke. I shifted into my wolf before joining in with the rest. The battlefield was a scene of relentless struggle, paws and claws clashing against one another, snarls and growls echoing across the clearing. The scent of blood and adrenaline hung heavily in the air as dust remained floating in it. If this was a human fight, then the dust is for sure going to be slightly blinding, but we are werewolves. So we are different. Zac believes he will most definitely win this. But what he doesn't know is that we are fighting for the opposite things, which puts my pac
