It took another six days for Kiera to come back from the mission that Elenore sent her on.

Each day felt like torture not knowing.

My mind is so torn right now between the idea of accepting her, and the fear of not getting the choice.

I was asleep and her scent woke me up from a dead sleep. I’d been waiting for almost two weeks to smell the intoxicating scent of roses and peaches. It lingered in the air for a few days after she left, but once it disappeared, I realized how much I wanted to keep smelling that scent.

As she walked past the glass wall of my cell, she looked dirty and beaten. Ash growled a deep growl from our chest, though I tried to cover it with a cough. Now wasn’t the time to give away that she was our mate.

‘Contain yourself. If she finds out that we’re mates, it will ruin everything,’ I muttered to Ash. He growled again, putting a block up. I don’t blame him. He is a beast and it’s every wolfs dream to meet their fated mate. Ours is sitting in a cell, mayb

I’m proud of the eleven warriors that were willing to move forward with us. I don’t blame the others for not being interested. Given Tobias’ track record, I don’t want to believe him either. Honestly, before the dream I had the other night, I still had doubt about Parker being alive. There is still a small part of me who thinks that this will turn out to be a sick joke. Another trap that I'm about to walk into. Elenore knows that I have abilities. They may not be as special as Parker's, but if she's as money hungry as it sounds; she won't care. Wyatt wrapped his arms around me from behind, brushing his lips against my shoulder. “With the information that Tobias gave us and the details from your dream, I think we have a shot at making this happen,” Wyatt whispered, tightening his hold on me. I was so grateful for his support in this. Wolves are possessive by nature, and his personality is such a stark contrast from the norm. The Moon Goddess blessed me with a man like him, know

  • Choosing her heart   Stronger than ever

I stood in front of the plane, staring at it absent mindedly. In just a few days, we would be attempting to take down Elenore. I wanted to rip out her throat for everything she’s done. I knew that it wouldn’t change the pain she's caused, but it would make me feel better knowing that she couldn’t hurt anyone anymore. If we pull this off, I have to face Parker again. I’m so happy that he’s alive, but when he finds out that I’ve moved on with Wyatt, what is he going to think of me? Will he try to take Helena from me? Will he be angry? Hurt? Wyatt stood in front of me, “Don’t worry so much, love. It’s going to be okay,” his fingers moved beneath my chin, tilting my face up to his. I felt tears sting my eyes. He can’t promise me that. What if something happens to him? Wyatt is everything to me. I can’t lose him. We have no idea how heavily guarded her facility is. My mind ran through every possibility.Wyatt laced his fingers with mine, “You’re not going to get rid of me that eas

  • Choosing her heart   Intoxicating (Parker POV)

“Rise and shine, lover boy,” Elenore’s voice rang through my dream, interrupting a very intimate moment I was having with Kiera. I haven’t stopped dreaming about her since we spent time in the white room. Every time I close my eyes, I see hers. I can hear her moans in my sleep. It’s almost haunting considering I haven’t been able to see her since that day. I opened my eyes, glancing over to see Elenore, fully dressed for the day, impatiently waiting for me to get up. As soon as I sat up, she smiled. Scanning the look on her face; I think that I’ve truly got her fooled. She smiled a genuine smile, like she was happy to see me. “Where are we off to today?” “We are having a company party and I’d like you to be my plus one,” she said, biting her bottom lip. The way she said that she’d like me to be her plus one was almost like a question. Like I had a choice in the matter. “I’d love to.” Her eyes brightened and she held up a pair of dark, slim-fit jeans and a white bu

  • Choosing her heart   Angry at myself(Parker POV)

“I think you’ve had too much to drink,” I whispered, feeling dazed by her confession. Sure, I knew she found me attractive. She was also using me for my looks. But she admitted to falling for me. I’d like to say that I’m surprised, but I’ve been trying to play this game, and now I know I’m actually winning. I know I’m playing a game; logically, but why do I feel so attracted to her? Why am I having such a hard time resisting her right now? She took a napkin from her purse, dabbing it on her neck and chest, before stuffing it back in there quickly. “Wouldddd you hold me, loverrrr boy?” she asked, sticking out her bottom lip and batting her eyelashes. I grabbed onto her hand, pulling her flush with my body. Taking a deep breath, I inhaled the alluring scent that she was emitting. Fuck. I want her so badly. I leaned down, filling my lungs with her. Our skin touching was lighting a fire inside of me. Desire. Want. Need. I held onto her. Running my hands along the curves of her b

  • Choosing her heart   It's time

Tonight is the night. Tonight, we save Parker and the other's trapped in Elenore's compound. I won't consider failure as an option. Our team got a good night’s rest and we’re ready to move forward with the plan. We've been holed up in Maleigha's hotel for the last forty-eight hours, but we're on borrowed time. The moment Stephen or Vincent sniff out our presence; everything could be over. Tobias gave us enough information on when the guards change, when the best time to go in would be, and what entrance gives us the best shot, so we've created our plan around that. If I find out that he set any of this up as a trap, I'll make the remainder of his pathetic life more miserable than he could ever imagine. Wyatt’s warm hands grasped onto my shoulders, massaging them gently. My nerves were probably flooding our bond so badly that everyone in the room could probably feel it. I feel stronger. I feel ready, but being brave doesn’t mean that I can’t be afraid. So much is on the l

  • Choosing her heart   Unprepared

We decided to park the vans along the road behind Elenore's building. Over the last few days, we decided that tonight was the best night given the lack of people bustling through the city streets. The sky was dark and the streets were void of light. It gave us the perfect cover to sneak in undetected. I was thankful that Elenore decided to surround her building with a lush landscape that included plenty of bushes and trees to use if necessary. My heart raced as I stared at the secret entrance. In just a few short moments, we would be entering the building and making our way towards the second secret entrance. The feeling of pure adrenaline coursed through my veins, making my body feel electrified. I knew my future telling was intensifying the feelings. Maleigha chose not to fight tonight, but her computer skills are going to come into play very soon. On our signal, she is going to hack Elenore's security systems, freezing all of the cameras. She found a loop of time where t

I turned around, seeing a large man standing behind the glass with a lopsided grin on his face. “You must be Felicity. I’m Ryzen, but you can call me Ry,” he smiled, outstretching his hand within his cell. I furrowed my brows, wondering how he knew my name, but I guess Parker would have had to talk to someone while he was here. I typed in the code, freeing him from his cell. ‘How can I help?’ he questioned through link. ‘We just need to get all of the captives to the vans that are parked on the rear side of the building. You can follow my warriors.’ He nodded, quickly joining the other’s and assuring everyone that they would be okay and that they could trust us. Wyatt ran up to me, looking over my body for any damage. “I’m fine, I promise,” I started, unable to finish my sentence before his lips crashed into mine. “I never doubted you, just needed a kiss,” he whispered, pecking me once more before his brows furrowed, “Wait, where is Parker?” “Looking for h

  • Choosing her heart   Truly relax(Parker POV)

My mind has been moving a thousand miles a minute since Felicity appeared in front of the glass wall of my cell. I wasn’t sure what to say or do, so I just stood there, staring at her. My heart raced seeing her beautiful face again. She broke my soul into a million pieces, but none of that mattered once she materialized in front of me.At first. I thought I was just imagining things. How was it possible that she'd found me? Felicity may be my ex-mate, but she will always have a piece of my heart. She not only found out that I was still alive, but put her life in danger by coming to rescue me. I don’t think I could fully process what was happening. I heard all of the commotion down the hall, but the way the cells were set up, you had a very limited view beyond what was directly in front of you. When she unlocked my door and I was free, my feet still stayed frozen. My body almost paralyzed until she spoke, snapping me out of it. As soon as I came to, I knew I needed to get to

  • Choosing her heart   Chose my heart(THE END)

The night was finally here and the room was full. People from all walks of life sat at small round tables together. “You look beautiful,” Wyatt whispered in my ear. I decided to wear an all-black sun dress and just enough eye makeup to accentuate my eyes. We opted to keep things fairly casual for the evening. That way, there was no pressure on our new members. Many came here with next to nothing, and didn't want a free handout. Wyatt’s father was sitting at a table chatting with a beautiful vampire. He had a broad smile and she was laughing at whatever it was he was saying. He held Dex in his arms and kept glancing down at him while speaking with the woman.“I think that your father might be smitten.”Wyatt followed my gaze, “Oh yeah, he’s in trouble. Or maybe she’s in trouble.”Kiera joined us, “There are far more people here than I thought,” she whispered, nervously wringing her hands. “You have nothing to worry about. You’re a natural.”She took one final deep breath before taki

  • Choosing her heart   Preparing

“Do we have all of the food prepared for the evening?” Two of the kitchen staff stood before me with clipboards. We were going over everything needed for our welcoming party. We had an overwhelming response once we began sending out invitations for the Safe Haven. At first, it was like a shockwave to the supernatural community. Unheard of in a way. A lot of packs returned our letter, accusing us of trying to steal their members. Some packs asked to come in and see what it was exactly that we were working so diligently on. We had five Alpha’s meeting Kai in total confusion on why we would welcome those of different supernatural races into our pack. ‘Werewolves are supposed to run packs for werewolves!’ they’d say. But in the end, they weren’t why we were making the program anyways and we held no room for their outdated ways. Once we had a few wolves show up, it was like the domino effect. It quickly became apparent that we were not prepared for the task ahead of us. “I believe so

  • Choosing her heart   Excitement(Wyatt POV)

I’ve been trembling with excitement since we arrived. Felicity was sitting on a small bed with a towel on her lap, fidgeting her fingers since the nurse brought us in here. They’d taken a small vile of her blood and we were patiently waiting for the ultrasound tech to come and start looking at our pup. “I hope they hurry up. I’m going to burst here in a moment.”Felicity giggled, leaning down and capturing my lips in a sloppy kiss. A soft knock at the door had her pulling away and in came a young nurse. “Are you two ready to see your fledgling?” she asked with a warm smile. I’ve been calling my pup a kin, or pup, but the correct term is fledgling. The more you know...Felicity leaned back on the table as the nurse squirted jelly on her exposed belly. I grasped Felicity’s hand, squeezing it tightly. My eyes never left the little screen as she placed the wand into the sticky substance. A wiggly bean appeared on the screen causing my eyes to instantly well with tears. That little t

  • Choosing her heart   Full circle

I decided to walk back home slowly, thinking about everything that had happened. I don’t want to believe that Parker is still in love with me. The thought makes me feel dirtied, like I'm betraying Kiera. She deserves his whole heart just as I've given mine to Wyatt.‘Can I come to you?’ Wyatt’s voice floated in my head.‘Sure, I’m walking home from the lake.’Less than thirty seconds later, Wyatt appeared in front of me. I could feel his guilt as he stood there wringing his hands.Closing the distance between us, I wrapped my arms tightly around his body and angled my face to look up at him. “Are you okay?”His arms snaked around my back, pulling me flush to him. One hand rested on the back of my head and the other squeezed my midsection. His chin rested against my hair, “I feel awful for how I acted earlier. Kiera didn’t deserve that."“I’m sure she will forgive you.”His head fell onto my shoulder, “Did you talk with Parker?”“I did.”He pulled away from me, “That’s all I get?”I s

  • Choosing her heart   Ash(Parker POV)

She nodded and he leaned forward, crashing our lips into hers. His hands went into her hair, gripping it tightly. He pulled her closer to us, snaking a hand behind her back. The sparks from their contact were electrifying. ‘You taste like heaven,’ he growled, ‘Better than heaven.’ I typically wouldn’t have given Ash full control but I felt like they needed this moment. She climbed onto his lap and from where I was in his mind, it was like watching a show. Almost like seeing my mate with myself but from the outside, which was an interesting twist. He gripped her sides, positioning her directly on his lap. She leaned forward, capturing his lips in a dominant kiss. He plunged our tongue deep in her mouth and she let out a muffled moan. ‘Will you let me explore you, Kiera? I want to show you just how much you mean to me.’ “Please,” she moaned out. He stood, her legs wrapped around our middle and he carried her to the room. ‘Don’t be too rough,’ I warned. ‘Go away,’

  • Choosing her heart   Cut the strings that hold me back(Parker POV)

As we ran through the thick foliage, Felicity’s voice was on repeat in my mind. I needed to forgive myself. Let go of the need for control. How does one do that when it is the only thing that they know? ‘The Goddess made Kiera for us. She doesn’t make mistakes,’ Ash muttered. That was only one piece to my puzzle. How do I forgive myself for not being there when my parents needed me? When Felicity needed me? When..... I needed me? Ash followed Kiera’s scent back to our house and I silently thanked the goddess that she still came home after I had embarrassed her today. He shifted, giving me control. I quickly threw on a pair of shorts and rushed inside. Kiera was sitting on the couch with a packed suitcase. The sight broke my heart. “Are.... are you leaving?” Her gaze met mine and I saw her puffy, bloodshot eyes. She probably hasn’t quit crying since I left the pack house. The thought that I caused that was a suckerpunch to the gut.“I think that would be what’s bes

  • Choosing her heart   Choices

I found Parker sitting by the same lake that I’d taken him to the first time we talked after he came home. The whole run over here, I tried to think of what I was going to say, but in all honesty, the shock hadn’t worn off. There was never a moment where I would have considered Parker still harboring such deep feelings for me. The air coming off of the lake was bitter, even for myself. I walked over, sitting down next to him on the embankment. We sat in silence for what felt like forever before Parker spoke up, “I come here sometimes to think. It’s peaceful,” he chuckled sadly, "Just like you'd said before. Who would of thought you were always right?"I smiled, looking over the dark expanse of water, “It’s my favorite place within the pack lands.” “Why did you come to find me?” he questioned, sparing me a sideways glance. “It sounds like we need to talk,” I whispered. Part of me still didn’t know how to approach this situation. I didn’t want to hurt Parker. That was never

  • Choosing her heart   Sick joke

When I heard all of the crashing coming from down the hall, I never imagined we’d be walking in on this. Parker being held back by Kai. Wyatt was leaned against the wall spitting blood. Wyatt shook his head with a smirk, his eyebrows raised, “Are you really going to make me tell her?” “Fill me in here. What is going on?” Wyatt chuckled, looking directly at Parker, “He’s still in love with you and is pissed that you turned.” A snort escaped his throat as he spit blood again, swiping the drips that had slid down from his nose, "What a fucking joke."My gaze fell on Parker and he looked absolutely devastated. I thought that we had been through this. We talked by the lake. He had given me a small ounce of doubt, but I was under the impression that we had worked through it. “Is this some kind of joke?” Kiera whispered. Tears filled her bright green eyes as she stared at Parker waiting for him to contradict what Wyatt was saying. I could hear her heart rate increase. She was hol

  • Choosing her heart   Don't know how what to feel (Parker POV)

I slammed my fist into the opposite wall, “What’s my problem?" I seethed, "I don’t know, Wyatt. Ever since you walked into Felicity’s life, you have fucked things up.” He looked at me, a mix of anger, hurt, and confusion in his features, “What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” “You destroyed my relationship with Felicity. We were mates, that was supposed to be sacred, but you used your mate bond to destroy what we had. You play daddy to my daughter," I slammed my finger into my chest feeling the emotions inside tryng to explode, "You continuously put my family in danger. Time and time again. You’re not even a werewolf anymore for Goddess' sake and now... now you’ve managed to turn Felicity. You stole her identity. She was perfect. A beautiful she-wolf and now she’s a filthy bloodsucker.... just like you.” Kai’s eyes were wide when I finished my rant but Wyatt just stood there, smirking. “Are you still in love with Felicity?” was the only thing that came out of his mouth.
