Perched in the wheelchair, I remained still, conscious that excessive movement was unwise. Beside me, Aurora exerted gentle pressure on the handles, guiding us toward the study room. My gaze drifted to the computer screen, and I initiated the conversation with Linda, “Can you update me with everything during my absence?”

“Yes, Master Alex, I will display the updates on the screen since you can assimilate the information more swiftly than I could verbalize it,” Linda responded with efficiency.

I expressed my gratitude, “Much thanks, Linda.”

Turning towards Aurora, I noticed her profound effort to maintain composure. “You’ve been doing wonderfully. I'll take it from here,” I reassured her. At my words, Aurora’s resolve wavered; her face contorted as if she were on the verge of tears, and she enveloped me in a warm embrace. “It’s okay, let me finish this first,” I whispered, trying to provide solace.

As Aurora's tears cascaded down her cheeks, she seated herself beside me.
