Nina’s POV

He left shortly afterward, after his mistress or rather the heiress whose face was imprinted in my mind until this very day, left as well.

Julia was fine, her blood had helped just like we had expected, and I couldn't just help it.

I knew that she was supposed to be the least of my concern, at least at this very moment she was supposed to be, but I couldn't help but think back to the fact that they were together right now, cuddled up somewhere, doing unimaginable stuff.

“ Are you okay?” Brian held my shoulders, bringing me back to the moment. My mom stood at the far end, disapproval lacing her face.

She was pissed at me. How exactly could I have let him penetrate my mind, and at the very moment when Brian was here? Her eyes spoke it all.

“ You should go home to rest, mum,” I said to her. “ Julia is fine and Julian looks tired. You should let him get some rest”
