Leaving the kitchen was a relief for me. I could still feel the tenseness in my bones as I set the cup on the table beside Mya who had now taken out her color book and was doing all the painting.

I poured her half a cup of drink and handed it over to her, smiling when she leaned over to kiss me on the cheek. Then I sat back, handing suitable colors to her as I watched her paint. It was really a beautiful sight and I couldn't even hold back my smile as she continued to colour. And by the time we were almost done, Sean popped his head out to announce that he was done cooking, causing Mya to leave whatever she was doing and zip towards the kitchen.

Sean hung around and I knew he did because I could feel his gaze on me as I faced the book before me and pretended not to see him.

"Are you going to join us or do you want to keep avoiding me because of what happened back in the kitchen?"

"I don't really care about that," I laughed, feigning interest in Mya's colo
