I held my breath for a few minutes, wondering what was the worse that could happen that would bring Damien here.

He seems like a man who never asks anyone for anything. So for him to leave his work and come all the way here. I shook my head, not wanting to think too much of it.

I just hope it is something I’ll be able to help him with. After what Atlas did to his club, I felt like it was my responsibility to mend our relationship. Although he made it clear that there was no problem between us. Though, it didn’t alleviate the feeling of guilt that is eating me up on the inside.

“You look worried.” Damien states, probably taking note of the long silence.

“That obvious, huh?” I asked, holding back my nervous laughter by very little.

“Kind of.” He cleared his throat. “Let me not keep you in suspense any longer.” He said, and his face looked soft. I don’t know how to explain it, but he seemed calmer or more understanding.

It made me feel better too, instantly.
