Jesse pulled away from me, staring into my eyes while trying to catch his breath. My heavy breathing matched his, and it took everything in me not to march him right up the stairs and throw him on the first bed I could find. His chest heaved, my eyes were drawn to the muscles working under his shirt, but all I really wanted was for him to kiss me again.

He didn’t. Instead, he smiled at me, grabbed my hand, and tugged me along with him. We ducked through a door at the side of the house that led into a garage, and the first thing I saw was his BMW. Winking, he grabbed his keys and hit the unlock button, dropping my hand and rushing to the passenger door, holding it open.

"Get in. Hurry!" he said in a rush.

Giggling at his theatrics as he glided across the hood again, I jumped in the car, fastening my seatbelt as quickly as I could because I knew he wouldn’t start the car until I had. Once he took his seat, he started the engine, pressing a button on his keys to

I stretched in the bed, and every muscle I had still ached. It took a few seconds for me to remember why. When visions of last night flooded my mind, a huge grin spread across my face. A little moan escaped me as I rolled over, laying my arm across Jesse’s stomach. For a minute, I thought I had dreamed last night, but it was real. He was real, and it made the butterflies swarm my stomach.Opening my eyes, I let my gaze roam over the man beside me, blushing as I scanned his muscle-covered body. Then I remembered kissing and licking those muscles and even biting. I’d never been a biter, but the way he made me feel last night, I couldn’t stop myself from sinking my teeth into his shoulder. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d do half the things I had last night, and truthfully, I couldn’t wait to do it all again.I bit my bottom lip while tracing his six-pack with my fingertip the guy's body was a work of art. It was strange because he didn't look all that big i

It had been two weeks since Jesse died, and it still hurt just as much as the day that Chase told me about the accident. I know I didn't know him for long, but we had such a strong connection. I’d even been dreaming of a future with him. Then he died…how could the universe be so cruel? The girls at the Sorority were getting annoyed with my moping, and I even heard one say that I had no right to grieve for a guy that I'd only known for a few days. To be honest, I agreed with her entirely, but I couldn't help how I felt.Payton dragged me out of the house and made sure I went to most of my classes, but no matter how much I tried, I just couldn't focus. My dad didn’t understand my grief either, so I spoke to my mom a lot, and she listened and offered advice. She was just fantastic in every way.Payton mentioned the meeting a few more times, but I no longer cared to know anything. None of it was important to me right now.Instead of facing reali

Chase was silent the entire drive. I had screamed at him, but it didn’t make him respond. Finally, I’d given up and, slumping my shoulders, stared at the window so I could avoid seeing his face—a face that didn’t even look like his anymore. Only Jesse’s.Annoyance warred with frustration in my head. I couldn't believe Chase had just kidnapped me. And all I could think about was Greyston’s words in the car. Alpha? What did that mean? Maybe it had something to do with Chase being the president. Or a werewolf…My head was all over the place. Had I really just thought they had been talking about a werewolf? So lost in my thoughts, I hadn’t even noticed Chase had parked the car."Aubrey? Are you going to follow me in, or do I need to carry you again?" His voice was quiet but loud enough to snap me out of my thoughts."I'll walk," I replied with a defeated huff.He climbed out of the car, and I got out, too. Once out in the fresh air, I contemplat

After telling me that my father was an Alpha, I needed a little break. I went to the bathroom and called Payton."Brie, where are you, are you okay?" she asked in a panic."Yeah, I'm fine. I'm with Chase—""Where are you?” she interjected. “If he's hurt you, I'll kill him!"I sniggered. "I'm fine Pay, honestly. He has been telling me everything.""Oh, and what has he told you exactly? And before you go mad, just know that I wasn't allowed to tell you. Your parents and mine swore me to secrecy.""Why would they do that? Wait...are you a wolf, too?" I asked, the question just forming in my head."Oh crap! He didn't tell you that bit, did he? Of course not, the complete jerk. Look, I really wanted to tell you, but I was under Alpha's orders—""My dad?" I cut in"Oh sure, he told you that part. Geez Chase, help a girl out. Yes, your father is our Alpha. Lots of us in town were told to protect you, and not to let you find out wh

“Aubrey, no, don't ever think that. Jesse died in a terrible car accident. It wasn't your fault," he said in a soft voice while stroking my hair.I sniffled a little and replied, "Chase, we slept together!"Before I had a chance to say anything else, he held onto my shoulders and pushed me away, standing up. He paced the length of the room, his breathing erratic.Eventually, he roared so loud I thought the windows shook, then he punched the wall. I jumped back in my seat; my eyes grew wide when I saw the brick crumbled away from the wall. Blood poured down his hand, so I ran to the kitchen and found a towel. Sprinting back to him, I guided him to the couch. When he’d taken a seat, I knelt on the floor in front of him, wrapping the towel around his hand to apply pressure on the wound. He cupped my cheek with his other hand, and when I glanced up at him, his eyes were black. Surprisingly, they didn't scare me like they had before. He stroked m

It was time to return to school after the holidays, and to be honest, I was going to miss my family and Chase. Sure, I'd get to see him all the time, but I didn't like being away from him much anymore. I loved spending time with him, but luckily for me, he was still like a stalker, so wherever I turned, there he was. It wasn't overbearing, though. I'd gotten used to it, and now that I knew there were dangers out there, like threats of kidnapping, I kind of liked the idea that he wasn't far away.Of course, I always had Payton with me, and Chase found a couple of other wolves who were taking the same classes as me, so I quickly became friends with my new classmates/bodyguards. I stayed over at the Frat house last night. Chase wanted us to go out, but I had some reading to finish before classes started back up, so I agreed to stay over at his place and order food instead. I'd stayed over a few times, so I’d brought some clothes over. That way I didn't have to keep running

Chase sat there staring at me with his mouth wide open. I turned to look at Payton and Connor, and they had the same look."What?" I said in a high-pitched tone."Brie, are you sure? Do you even know what it all entails?" Payton asked me, her eyes wide with shock."Well, no, not exactly, but I'm sure you can all fill me in. Doesn't he just bite me, then you know, I turn?" I asked with a shrug."Oh, no honey, there is so much more to it than that. Chase, you need to tell her," she said while sitting down in the armchair. Connor dropped on the floor beneath her, stretching his long legs out in front of him. My gaze landed on Chase as I waited for him to explain."Well, first I'd have to talk to my uncle and try to convince him to let me take over early as Alpha. We don't usually take over until were twenty-five...""Yeah, good luck with that," Connor chuckled.Chase growled at him and Payton slapped him on the head."Ow, what was t

  • Chased By The Light   Chapter Twenty-Eight ~ Get Out Aubrey

After my accident, everyone tried to convince me that I'd hallucinated seeing Jesse. They insisted that they'd had a traditional werewolf funeral for him, and that me thinking that I'd seen him that day was because of the knock to my head when the car hit me. And even though common sense and logic told me they were all right, in my heart, I still held hope that he was alive.I'd started up classes again and decided against joining the cheerleading team despite the insistence of most of my Sorority sisters. Instead, I focused on track and took up my old ritual of an early morning run. This morning I was up at four forty-five, had a protein shake, and left by five.Chase didn't like me going for a run alone and kept going on about Alphas, Sires and, kings. Blah, blah, blah. He would send different guys out with me each morning to run behind me, or Arabella would come with me, but today I left an hour early so that I could get some peace. I needed to clear my he

  • Chased By The Light   Epilogue

I sat on the porch wearing my fluffy socks, fleece pyjamas, gloves, hat and a super soft grey blanket that I'd wrapped around me. Our beautiful winter was in full swing and Christmas was only a few days away. I had my hands around a large mug of coffee and took occasional sips as I gazed out over our immense snow-covered yard. Chase and Jesse, we're in the middle of a snowball fight with the kids and usually I would be joining right in with the festive fun, but being heavily pregnant meant lots of rest and sitting on my ass. I didn't mind though, I'd so can't the last few winters making snow angels and building snow men with the boys. So, it wasn't like I hadn't mad memories with them in their five years on this earth. We’d been through a lot, but life had been pretty perfect. Our relationship was sealed when I had the twins and even though we didn't know which kid belonged to who, Chase and Jesse didn't care and neither did I. We were a family and that's all that mattered. All the pa

The guys continued their game and every time I guessed the wrong guys touching or kissing my body, I was punished. From being whipped, slapped, and bitten, but how sexually aroused I was they didn't seem all that much like punishments. I didn't know if it was the heat or the fact that Jesse's sexual preferences had finally rubbed off on me. I was drenching the bed by this point and a knot had formed in my stomach from the insatiable need for them to ravish me. The treats I got for guessing correctly went from a kiss, to full on licking me out and even though I came a few times, I still needed more. I wanted them inside of me. My body wanted their seed. Chase was currently licking and gently hitting the inside of my thighs. My legs were shaking uncontrollably and I knew my body had gotten to the stage that it couldn't take the teasing any longer, so I begged Chase.“Please! Fuck me!” My words were released on the end of deep breaths and those were the only words I could manage to get o

I’d been visiting Chase and Jesse at the medical centre where they’d been kept for a few days. When I first saw them, I was in complete shock. They were black and blue, and their faces were so swollen that I couldn’t even tell who was who. Fast healing was one of the things I definitely appreciated about our breed and with them being Sentinels, they healed even faster. Today was the day that they were both due to come home and I’d worked my ass off all morning making the house perfect for their return. I wanted them to come home and us get straight on with the mating ritual, because my heat was in full swing, but the packs needed to see them too. So, I let them organise a party for them. Of course, I couldn’t attend because of my excessive pheromone production. They had been under sedation when I visited them, and we made sure no male doctors or staff were around during my visits. We sorted it out that they would have the party at my parent’s pack house rather than ours, so I just had

I was thrown onto the bed and I still didn't have a clue who was with me. I prayed to God that it was Chase and Jesse, and that my what was in full swing so I wouldn't go bat shit crazy on them and literally bite their heads off like a praying mantis. I couldn't understand why we couldn't catch a break. If the universe or fates or whoever wanted us three to be mated together and be strong Sentinels, then why the fuck were they ripping out lives apart now? Maybe it was a test to see if we deserved to have this life and be together? It didn't matter, I was fed-the-fuck-up of dealing with all this shit. I just wanted an easy and calm life. Was that too much to ask for?Whoever had thrown me on the bed placed his hands either side of my legs and leaned over me, sniffing my hair and my face. His warm breath on my cheek made my skin crawl, and that was when I knew it wasn't Chase or Jesse. I had to think fast before they had their way with me. I could feel my Sentinel powers tingling in my

I yanked my hands away from the guys and just managed to jump out of my chair and dive across the room as the wild men launched themselves at me. They weren't themselves any more, their feral instincts had taken over them. I'd seen it once before my cousin was at our house for dinner with her new mate and he ripped the whole dining room apart trying to get to her. I was only a young teenager and it scared the crap out of me. When I bonded with Chase and Jesse, I never thought about coming into heat, especially not this soon. Usually, it takes around six months, but I forget that the women in our family come into heat early. Although, never this soon. It's been less than twenty-four hours for Christ’s sake, I haven't been able to enjoy them as the men I love.“Mom! I'm in heat! Help!”While mind linking my mom, I sprinted toward the basement door. Every pack house has a safe room and ours has a nesting room. We had it set up the way me and Jesse wanted it, bit I wasn't expecting to use

I’d managed to fall asleep somehow. How I did with all that anxiety and embarrassment running through me, I don’t know. When I finally awoke the sun was rising in the sky. I could smell the morning dew and hear the birds chattering outside. Their songs were sweet, some what enthusiastic and it bought a smile to my face. But the smile was short lived. As soon as I remembered our naked escapades, the embarrassment took over again. I wondered if everyone had left. Well, I hoped they had. I couldn’t bare to face my family or the packs this morning. I dragged myself out of bed and went to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Once back in my room, I didn’t feel like getting dressed properly so just pulled on some boyfriend style panties, then tugged on a pair of black three-quarter length leggings and a gray tank top. I finished the look with an over sized gray cardigan and a messy wet bun on top of my head.I could have easily of jumped back into bed and slept the day away, but something

Chase and I kept running through the trees like giddy fawns. We couldn’t believe how lucky we'd been. Irene turning up, right when we were trying to escape seemed like fate had planned it all out for us. It felt great knowing we had a higher power on our side. Sure, I knew that if Irene and her brothers survived the Soulderians, they'd hunt down Chase. She won’t let him go that easy. I mean if she was willing to sacrifice her life by fighting the black witches, there was nothing that could stop her from getting Chase back. The triplets had been running from the Soulderians all their life, so risking her own life and her brothers meant that she did Love Chase, in her own murderous and twisted way.If it went the other way and the triplets lost, I would be next on the Soulderians list and if they managed to extract the Titagel’s powers, I doubted that we stood much chance against them. They were power-hungry and beneath Irene and her brothers, I was classed as the next most powerful bei

I didn’t sleep well at all. The stone floor made places hurt that I didn’t even know I had. But when I opened my eyes and saw my crazy bearded soul mate, my pain didn’t matter any more. All that mattered to me, was getting us out of there. I sat up and stretched. My aching bones clicked and cracked and it felt good. My noise made Chase wake up.“Morning, babe,” he said sleepily.“Morning.”I knew he'd only just opened his eyes, but I needed answers and wanted to go over some ideas on how we could escape.“How do you remember me?”“Irene cast a spell so I could remember her, but it let me remember everything.” He sat up and stretched his legs out. With his back pressed up against the wall he continued, “I had to pretend that I loved her. She was highly jealous and killed any girl that showed interest in me.”“Oh God, Chase. I am so sorry you had to go through that.”“Well, it is what it is.” He turned his body to face me and pulled his knees up and wrapped his arms around them. I faced

I could hear my heartbeat pounding in my ears, everything seemed to slow down and Shana's screams became deep and dragged out. I knew I had to do something but I had no idea what. Without even thinking about it, I ripped my hands away from my eyes and screeched into the air,“Stop!”Shana's screams ceased and all the cloaked men turned to face me. I glanced down at my hands and they had a glowing gold aura around them. Two of the men whispered to someone in a red cloak.“She's a Sentinel,” one said.“I thought they were a myth,” the other added. The red-cloaked man raised his hand to silence them, then approached me. When he reached me, he grabbed my face and turned my head from side to side, then stared into my eyes like he was looking for something.“Curious. You’re a very rare being, do you know that?”I yank my face out of his grip and slap his hand away from me. In a split second, he holds his hands up and red lighting shoots out of them sliding around my wrists and ankles like a
