Brooklyn blinked at him with shock. Did she hear him correctly? “I beg your pardon, sir?” She asked, still unsure whether she heard him correctly or not. Nikolas gave her a look of impatience. He hated repeating himself but it seemed as if Brooklyn was lost and hadn’t heard him at all.

“I said that you should call me Nikolas from now on,” he explained, sipping his coffee and watching her broodingly. Ever since she confessed her feelings for him last night, his heart and mind had been at war with one another. He just couldn’t control the inner turmoil going on within him. It made him behave abnormally and thus for the first time in his life, he made coffee for a woman, a species he still hated. But she wasn’t just any woman, she was Brooklyn and she was his.

“I’m sorry, sir. I can’t,” said B

“I’ve sent the footage to my men and they’re hunting for these three. We need to nab them as fast as possible to prevent Davis from getting hurt or maybe killed. We’re still at a loss about the motive behind this abduction. Davis led a pretty simple and hard life, always keeping to himself. His track record is good so he shouldn’t be having any enemies,” said the officer. His words got Nikolas thinking. Was Brandon kidnapped by his business rivals for the payment that he was carrying? However, he refrained from informing the officer lest he confiscated the money since it was actually an underhanded deal.“If the men have brought him to Woodburn, they could be knowing the local goons here. The best way to nab them would be to offer a handsome tip to a local goon and convince him to sell us information regarding the kidnappers,” suggested Nikolas.

Nikolas couldn’t concentrate on anything since that encounter at the swimming pool. His body was on fire and he repented not having kissed her. Maybe a kiss could extinguish the flame that's burning deep inside him. He knew that he had unnecessarily attacked her before escaping the house like a coward. Who was he fooling? He didn’t need any seduction, his body was perpetually aroused when she was around. He sighed, closing his laptop. There was no point in attempting to work. After a tour of his distribution center, he conducted a meeting with his marketing team and finally came over to his office to draft an email to Knightsbridge. The deal was through and he needed to fix a meeting with him soon. It was already 4 o'clock and he knew that had to return back to the villa but the thought of facing Brooklyn made him unnecessarily delay going back. How would he keep himself away from her? Even cold sho

It was already 9 o’clock in the night when they reached Lents, a neighborhood of Portland where Freddie Miller owned a house where they usually stored their illegal drugs. Jeremy had mentioned that he sometimes hid his prisoners here as well. They cautiously approached the two-storied house with a huge unkempt backyard, full of trees and creepers growing wildly that made it look more like a jungle. Without alerting anyone, officer Thompson of the Portland Police Department led his team inside the property. They spread out all over, covering the entire property so that no one could escape. Nikolas stayed back at a distance while they forcefully broke open the front door. A series of gun firing erupted from inside making them take shelter. Suddenly there was chaos everywhere as several policemen at the back door were shot brutally and before they could take any action, the criminals jumped into a car and sped away. A police car trailed it while th

Nikolas sat beside her, staring at her top, still in a dilemma. His fingers caught the hemline of the top to yank it out of her as gently as possible. However, the moment his fingers touched the soft, creamy skin of her abdomen, he felt how cold it was. He wasted no time and took off the soiled and wet top that was clinging to her.His eyes darkened immediately seeing her rounded, creamy brea*ts that he exposed, clad in a delicate off-white lace b*a. ‘Don’t look, Nikolas. You'll be dead taking cold showers all night,’ warned his inner voice. But he would be a dead man if he could stop himself from staring at her beautiful body. All his life he had stayed away from women. Being celibate had never bothered him. He despised the species so much that touching them had never occurred in his head but with Brooklyn’s appearance in his life, everything had turned upside down. He was transfor

Nikolas couldn’t believe his ears. Did she really ask him to stay just like she had asked her dream man in her sleepy state? He was too confused, not knowing what to make of it anymore. His phone buzzed with an incoming call from officer Warner. He walked into the room, ushering Brooklyn too, and closed the door after them. “Yes, officer Warner, tell me. Any news of Freddie Miller?” he asked with a tense expression on his face. Brooklyn stared at him with fear in her eyes.“Good morning, Mr. Ardolf. We have arrested Freddie Miller and some of his men as they were entering Washington through I-5 N. Three of our officers have been injured in the combat, but nothing serious so far,” he informed, making Brooklyn gasp with horror.“Good job, officer. That's very good

Brandon sighed. “I'll return sir his money and then we both can start afresh somewhere far away,” said Brandon. Brooklyn didn’t answer, suddenly she felt her heart constricting at the thought of going somewhere far away. She had no idea why the thought caused her so much pain. It felt as if she was leaving someone very dear to her.“What about Freddie Miller’s men? Wouldn’t they harass us?” Asked Brooklyn staring at her brother with scared eyes.“When they realize that we really don’t have any money, they’ll leave us alone. I think the cops have arrested the whole lot of them already,” said Brandon. Brooklyn sighed. It was useless to make Brandon see any sense. He had always been stubborn and would do what he thought was best.&ldquo

Nikolas watched Brooklyn discreetly every now and then all throughout the flight. He didn’t want her to leave with Brandon. He had quickly wrapped up the formalities and returned back to Brandon’s room. Having heard most of their conversation, his restlessness started to grow. He thought of ways of holding Brooklyn back. Did she really have a crush on him? That was a question he seriously needed an answer to. Finally, they reached Napa Valley at around lunchtime. Bruce and his men had brought Nikolas’s car along with an ambulance for Brandon. After ensuring that Brandon was comfortable in the ambulance, Nikolas went to have a word with Bruce.Brooklyn buckled the seat belt on and waited for Nikolas in his car. Brandon had slept throughout the ride but she was eager to get home, fearing that she might have stained her clothes. It was her time of the month and she sat chiding herself for no

Nikolas’s body burned with a strange fire, his desire-fogged brain was blind with a se*ual hunger that he'd never experienced before. He grasped the back of her head to claim her mouth better, dominating her, controlling her mouth. He wanted to imprint the feel of her mouth in his brain. It was a heady, crazy feeling that sent his heart into overdrive.Brooklyn couldn’t respond at first but then her fingers slowly fisted into his silky hair and she kissed him back, slowly and sensually at first as if she was experimenting with her first kiss. Nikolas groaned with pleasure. He knew that he was in deep sh*t now. Her soft, languid, and er*tic response started a war between his rational mind and traitorous body. His tongue tasted every recess of her mouth like he had been dreaming of doing for the last few days. Soon the kiss turned fierce and although Nikolas knew that he shouldn’t hav

After having waited for hours, Brooklyn was excited to hear Nikolas’s voice downstairs, talking to Kathy. ‘He’s here, he’s here,’ her heart sang with glee. She sat in the nursery, feeding the twins and waiting impatiently for him to come upstairs. What was taking him so long? After five minutes, Nikolas peered inside the nursery, looking for her. The moment his eyes connected to hers, he flashed a dazzling smile at her. At that moment, everything ceased to exist around them and a look full of promises passed between them. He came closer and leaned in to plant a small kiss on her lips. Ellie left the room to give them some privacy.“Are you happy to see me home early?” he asked, pulling a chair to sit beside her.“Yes, so, did you throw your clients out and

“Who allowed you entry into my property?” Demanded an angry Nikolas. Ryder ignored him completely, his eyes were glued upon Brooklyn.“Brooklyn, I just wanted to talk to you,” he said looking dazed.“You can talk to me,” said Nikolas, his arm going around Brooklyn and pulling her closer to his side. Ryder noted the possessive gesture but he preferred to ignore it altogether.“Why should I talk to you? I’m sure Brooklyn can speak for herself,” said Ryder, standing in front of her.“I have nothing to say to you, Ryder. I’m sorry that you and Amy couldn’t make it together. Fifteen minutes later, Brooklyn, helped by the two attendants, walked down towards the wedding arch created on the other side of the koi pond. Kathy and Ellie had got the twins ready in their tux rompers and pushed their strollers, following Brooklyn to the wedding venue. Brooklyn gasped seeing the huge crowd waiting to witness the wedding. She smiled at them as she knew most of them. They were all Nikolas’s employees around the estate and office. Her eyes searched for Brandon. She had heard him a little while ago. Had he not arrived yet?“Hey, Brooks! Looking for me? I’m right here to walk you down the aisle. I’m older to you after all!” said Brandon as he came up behind her, looking dashing in a dark charcoal tuxedo. Brooklyn’s face brightened up with a dazzling smile.“Only by 2 minutes, Brand. “Sleep tight tonight, daddy needs to play with your mommy,” whispered Nikolas, leaning closer to the twins as she fed them. Brooklyn rolled her eyes. So no wedding night for us, then,” she reminded him.“Still, we’ll make the most of it,” he said, staring deeply into her eyes with a promise of lots of car*al pleasure for later. The thought of it made her heart skip a beat. She couldn’t believe that by tonight she’d be a married woman, she’d be Nikolas’s wife. She hadn’t thought the day would come so soon. Was it her fault that Ryder had developed feelings for her? She had never encouraged Ryder in any way. Then how could Nikolas hold a grudge against her? How could he not see how much she loved him?It was late when Nikolas walked into his bedroom. All the arrangements had been made for the wedding tomorrow. He had submitted an online application for a marriage license. Tomorrow he would simply visit the county clerk’s office to procure the license and then get married. Brooklyn whirled around to face him, feeling disturbed by his presence.“What the hell is wrong with you? Why are you so hell-bent on resigning from the job? Can’t you understand your own good? You don’t need to dance to Nikolas’s tunes, Brooklyn. You should complete your education on your own merits. I’m giving you such a good opportunity, why can’t you just take it?” asked a displeased Ryder, his eyes still flashing angrily at her.“Why are you taking this personally?
