2024-10-29 19:42:56Nikolas picked up his plate and stormed into the kitchen after dropping that bombshell upon her. Brooklyn followed him to rinse her plate. She was in a dilemma now. How could she return with him? All the other employees would judge her and call her names. They would mock her as Nikolas’s wh*re and attack her character behind her back. No, she was better off here. She wouldn’t go back with him.
“We can pack up and leave immediately if you don’t have any other work here,” said Nikolas, turning towards her after completing his job. Brooklyn gaped at him, completely taken aback by the suddenness of his decision.
“I don’t want to go back, Nikolas. I want to stay here,” she told him in a soft voice, expecting him to react vehemently. Nikolas looked stunned, not having expected that answer from her.
