Chapter Thirteen - Laura

The ride home is in extreme awkward silence. We had thankfully left the mansion in a hurry after Nana slapped Milan. The atmosphere became tense and moody afterward. Thankfully, Zion stood up announcing our departure.

I was thankful for that because I was already getting tired of their pitiful stares after the men and Helene apologized for Milan's attitude towards me. I felt guilty like I was the reason the dinner was ruined. It wouldn't have ended like that if I hadn't intruded. I'm sure Milan will hate me more now that she received a slap from her mother because of me.

I can't seem to comprehend why they suddenly hate. I met her once at Nana's place and she didn't treat me this way. Although she wasn't entirely friendly she wasn't entirely rude either. She ignored me then and I was fine but this, what she said to me tonight came as a shock. I didn't even receive anything from Nana or Zion.

I'm in this relationship because of my loyalty towards Nana. She helped me when I was in des
