Serena's POV
“Know her? Mr. Boyega, this is your new secretary, Mrs Serena Johnson. Mrs Johnson, this is your boss, Mr Vincent Boyega”
“Boss?”, no, no, no, no, this can't be happening to me. And why is he unbothered by the fact he had just slept with his own Secretary?
“Well, it's nice to meet you, Serena. I'm sure you're going to enjoy working with me, nice makeup”, with a smirk on his face, those were his last words to me before leaving for God knows where. If this were a cartoon show, my face would be boiling red right now.
“Am I his secretary?”, making Jerry aware that I wasn't sure what was going on.
“That's the job you applied for wasn't it?”, he seems unsuspecting about the stranger, Vincent, and I, for now.
“Yeah, but…”
“No buts. If I were you, I'd go and attend to him immediately, he doesn't like untidiness. I increased my pace to catch up to him. He walked into his office and I followed him behind.
“What are you doing here?”
“I erm… I..”, where are my words? He points outside his office. A mini desk and chair office right in front of the see-through glass wall of his office.
“There's your office space”, he circles his finger around his office, “not here”. He buried his head in the pile of files on his desk, and as I was about to leave, he called me back. “And where are you going?”
What's happening, he just asked me to leave. “My office”. He taps his pen on the files.
“And these? I want these files sorted out immediately”
“Yes sir”, I responded to his command like his servant. Fuck you Vincent Boyega. I picked up the files, went straight to my office, and sat down on my chair with the files on my desk. I could feel him staring at me through the glass wall.
Phone rings… I picked…
“Hello…”
“Sort those files”, his voice pierced my heart with his orders. I wanted to scream out my frustration, but I couldn't do anything. I don't want to get fired on the first day.
“Yes-”, before I could utter another word, the call cut. This little prick!
The phone rings for the second time… I picked…
“Hello Sir? How may I help you?”, forcing my tone to sound nicer, covering the vexation in it.
“I need the reports of the Sanchez Bids Co. in my office now”, I know what he's playing at. He wants to break me and see me lose my cool so he can humiliate me and then have me fired on my first day. Not going to happen. I too can play that game.
“Sure thing Sir, I'll have them on your desk faster than you can say ‘coffee break”
“Great! And speaking of coffee, I could go for one right now. Could you grab me one from the break room?”, the nerves on this man.
“Consider it done, sir. Extra strong, just the way you like it”
“Thanks, Susie, you are a saver, kisses”. Susie? Who the hell is Susie? He knows my name. He knows my name is Serena and not Susie. Kill Me, somebody! Is this how he is? A prick? I stood up to grab the coffee. I returned with the coffee and placed it on his desk.
“Where's the file I asked for?”
“I… I thought I gave you already?”
“Stop thinking and get things done, Solana. I need those files now”, I stormed out of his office reached for the files he wanted, and returned with them. He takes them from my hands.
“Good. Thank you, Sultana. You can leave now”
“Sir, my name is Serena. I won't have it any other way.”Vincent stood up like a lion about to prey on me. He presses a button on his desk and the glass wall darkness. No one could see in or out. He walks towards me. His fingers ran through my left arm. He turns me around, his finger on my lower lip. What is happening?
“So, Serena, you were saying?”, it is as if he caught me in a trance, I couldn't move.
“Sir, we're at the office, we can't…” in a bit of shock, cutting my words short with his kiss. He turns me over, pulling down the skirt of the unknown woman he gave to me this morning. His trousers are down already. “ Sir…” a sharp sting from behind. Why can't I break free from him?
“Shhh… let me take it from here Mami'', he always uses the right words for me. It's like I'm the perfect puppet made for him, and I like it. With repeated strokes, I moaned and moaned, gasping for air. He was choking me. My neck felt his tight grip once more. I love this.
“Sir…”, he grunts. Done? For 5 minutes? What happened? He dresses himself up, as do I. He's done? He goes back to his seat.
“Prepare a meeting by 1:00 PM”, he goes back to working in his system.
Breathless, “Yes sir, I'll… have it done, sir”, I walked out and went back to my seat. Oh my! That was intense. Benita is missing out. I can't wait to see the look on her face when I tell her about Vincent. She'll go nuts.
Later that day, I went to remind Vincent of his meeting by 1:00. He wasn't in his office. When did he step out? I searched for him. I remembered I didn't have his line.
Fuck! He’ll kill me if he doesn't make it to this meeting. Well, he'll fuck me first before killing me. And behold, I found him in the break room flirting with a female staff member. My heart scattered in a million pieces.
Here I am thinking I was the one for him. He's just like everyone. How could I expect anything from him? He's just using me. Now I know where I stand with him. I won't let him violate me ever again.
I cleared my throat, knocking on the door, “Mr Vincent, your meeting?”
“Is it 1:00 already?”, as if he doesn't know.
“Yes sir”
He exhales, “Set up the meeting, I'll be there shortly”
“Sir, the people are already there”
With a rude tone, “And I'll be there shortly, let them know of the delay”
“Okay sir”, I watched him return to his new cheek.
“I swear I wanted to cry, Benita”, I told Benita all that happened back at our apartment. Well, not everything, everything.
“Least he's good in bed”, Benita says to mock him, I tapped her breast.
“Ouch!”Now she knows I'm serious.
“He's just like everyone else, Beni”
“I haven't seen you all day, you left me for a stranger and you're complaining he gave you good dick, but he ain't feeling you like that? Girl, you're tripping. And he is rich? What do you want, girl?”, I only laughed at everything. I was tired and wanted to just rest.
“It's whatever now, girl”, I was getting tired and just wanted to cuddle on my bed.
Suddenly, a bang on the front door.
“Who is that?”, Benita asks. No answer.
“Who is that?”, she asked me.
“I dunno”, she goes to open the door. I couldn't believe he was standing in my front door.
Serena’s POV Alexander, my ex-boyfriend. Alex breathes heavily, he looks exhausted and drained of energy. “Alex? What the hell are you doing here?”, shocked to see him, he looks like he has been rough-handled. What has he done this time around? It's always something with Alex. The last time it was the cops, the other time it was the gang members, now what? “Please, you gotta help me out guys”, a strange ooze filled the room. “Eww, what's that smell? Is this you Alex?” I asked to be sure. It smelt like sewers. “You got to help me out, guys”, breathing heavily like a dog, sweating profusely with a bad stench that worsened it all. Alex looked like he had not showered for days, what had happened to him? The only question I had for him. “Hmm… no. I warned you not to return your broken ass to this place last time you came here. Seems you want to be embarrassed. I wonder who you're running from this time around. I'll be happy to let them know your stupid ass is here”, sh
Serena’s POVJerry and I were having a conversation about my hair in the break room. He complains that it's not appropriate for work and that he hoped that it would be gone after a week of working in VestTech. It's been a month and counting and I still had my short blue-tinted hair. Jerry said it made me look like a pixie. Vincent had joined us and I couldn't be more happy to have all this sorted out. “Vincent, Jerry here thinks I should get rid of my hair, that it is not ethical for work”“Why do you think they are not ethical?”Finally, Jerry is getting what he deserves, he has been on this matter all day and I was getting tired and bored of it. “I'm speaking to you, Serena”, what, me?I looked at him with a confused expression, “Sir, it was only mentioned to me now, it seemed like it was never a problem, to begin with”, I made my case as it was.“Well, now it's one”, he grabs an apple from the fruit tray and takes a bite out of it. “He is your boss if he says the hair gotta go, the
Serena’s POV Walking into the office the next morning took me by surprise at what Jerry had done. My office desk wasn’t where it was meant to be, he had moved it to only God knows where. “Oh, there you are'' Jerry approaches me from the corner. “Where’s my desk?” I was a little confused and couldn't realize that this was Jerry’s friendly way of making me change my blue hair. It’s not ethical for the workplace. “You’ll be happy to find that your desk has been moved to a more comfortable location for you to work at your maximum productivity”, he said with a dirty smirk on his face, “Hope you find it truly comfortable”, he patted my shoulders before leaving. What have you done, you dwarf? “What did you do to my desk? You’re compromising my assistance to Mr. Vincent and I'm sure he wouldn't like to see I'm not where I'm supposed to be” Got you, you little piece of… “And I'll be glad to inform you that Mr Boyega won't be coming in today” “What, is he sick?” “That's for me to worry abou

Serena’s POV:My night class surprisingly ensued in time tonight. Mr Quinn had some urgency of some sort at home. “Are you gonna dye your hair back to black”, Benita sits on a rotating bar stool, as I lay hopelessly on the flour drained of energy. Worse of all our air-conditioning is damaged and the handyman won't be here for the next two days. We're both on our inner, the heatwave is milking us both.“It's not a big deal either way, I think it's about time I did something different with my hair”“You’re mixed right”, I raised my head to give Benita a disgusted expression. We’ve been friends for over five years Benita, and you’re asking me this? Nah, she’s pulling my legs.“Really girl”?“Oh!”, coming to her senses, “my bad”“Hmm hmm”, sigh“Haven’t heard from Vincent. Heard is out sick”“No calls from him either”?, I nodded my head.“Don’t even know how to feel about that”“I’m sure he’s alive, and probably still breathing”“He Better be”, chuckles, exhales…“Alexander? I hope that b
Mr Vincent POV:Seeing Serena lying on the bed unconscious made me sick in my Tommy, this was all my fault and I knew it. If I wasn't there, the accident wouldn't have happened. Now she's in the hospital all because of me.“This is all my fault, Benita. If I wasn't in you guys' way if I hadn't jammed into both of you, Serena would be fine”“Don't sound like that Mr. V, she'll be fine, I promise”Serena’s Day had started like every other day, with the familiar hustle and bustle of city life. She works hard, I'll give her that. Little did she know that by nightfall she would find herself lying on a hospital bed. Makes you realize that life is short.“I'm going to get something to eat, you want anything”? Benita said looking exhausted. “I'm good, thanks”, as Benita walked out of the room, I began to have a taste of coffee, so I called her back. “Uhm.. Benita…”“Yea”?“Coffee would be fine”“Okay, I'll be right back”, I thought of the suit I had on all day. I didn't even realize I had th
Mr Vincent POV:As I waited for the hospital staff to finalize the arrangements for Serena's room, my mind raced with a mixture of relief and anticipation. I had been determined to ensure Serena received the best possible care, but the prospect of making a substantial donation to the hospital weighed heavily on his mind.As I sat in the waiting area, my thoughts turned to Serena—her strength, her resilience, and the unwavering dedication she brought to her work. She deserved nothing but the best, and I knew I was determined to see to it that she received it, regardless of the cost. After what felt like an eternity, the hospital staff returned with a smile, confirming that Serena would be moved to the hospital's finest accommodations. Finally, I breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that his efforts had paid off."Thank you," I said sincerely to the staff member, his gratitude evident in his voice. "Please let Serena know that I'll be checking in on her regularly."The staff member nodde
Serena’s POV “Jesus!” I woke up to see I had been transferred into a much more spacious room. I couldn't hold my feelings. I wanted to burst out with joy. No wonder I had a much more peaceful night than the last. I mean, this is amazing. Why did the hospital change my room? Bewildered “Wow, this is nice”, I said softly. “Feeling better”? Mr Vincent said, walking in with a bouquet. Did he do this? I'm sure he did. If he did, then he must have done it as a show-off. “This was all you”? I needed to be sure. “Uhm… the hospital thought it'd be best for you. You know, your condition and all”, uh-hmm, that's the best thing you could come up with? “Mr. Vincent, the room… It's amazing. Thank you” “Oh, no. You should be thanking the hospital and not me” “I know it's you, Mr Vincent. Thank you”, he chuckles with a bold smile. “You're welcome”, he replied, gladly. Just then, Benita entered the room with two cups of coffee in her hands. She sips hers. “Where's mine”? she nearly choked on
