Serena’s POV
Jerry and I were having a conversation about my hair in the break room. He complains that it's not appropriate for work and that he hoped that it would be gone after a week of working in VestTech. It's been a month and counting and I still had my short blue-tinted hair. Jerry said it made me look like a pixie.
Vincent had joined us and I couldn't be more happy to have all this sorted out. “Vincent, Jerry here thinks I should get rid of my hair, that it is not ethical for work”
“Why do you think they are not ethical?”Finally, Jerry is getting what he deserves, he has been on this matter all day and I was getting tired and bored of it. “I'm speaking to you, Serena”, what, me?
I looked at him with a confused expression, “Sir, it was only mentioned to me now, it seemed like it was never a problem, to begin with”, I made my case as it was.
“Well, now it's one”, he grabs an apple from the fruit tray and takes a bite out of it. “He is your boss if he says the hair gotta go, the hair’s gotta go”, he leans towards me to grab a cup from the lower cabinet I stood in front of. I could feel him smirking right above him, this little prick. Vincent leaves the break room. Jerk. Always runs from conversations that are not about sex or what his body is gonna do to me.
I turned my attention back to Jerry, “You've got to at least come to a compromise”, why is Jerry being all stubborn today? He's my favorite person in the office and the only friend I have worthwhile conversations with within the office.
“The only thing that's going to be compromised here is your job”, he reaches for an Apple as well, takes a bite, and lets out a grunt, he leaves with his hands on his jaw.
As I was about to leave, Vincent walked in, closing the door behind him. Does he want to go for it again, here? He brings out a packet of sugar in the sugar jar and leaves. What's gotten into these two? Jerry would never put me in a compromising position and Vincent would never not be in a room alone with me without touching me. Something's wrong somewhere and I have to do something about it.
Later that day, while I was seated in my little cubicle of an office, Vincent walked over and offered to take me out for lunch. Was I dreaming? Vincent, taking me out for lunch? I couldn't tell if I was having a bad day, a good day, or a bit of both with a mix of weird, confused, and bored. I've been walking all day without leaving this chair. I've never had a busy day like this before. At least Vincent noticed for once.
“Wanna get lunch?”, looking at the pile of work in front and hearing the offer, a once-in-life offer I could only get once with Vincent, it didn't take me long to realize what I was going for.
“Yes sir”, finally, food. I exploded in excitement inside me, Vincent turned to look at me and I had to compose myself.
At the restaurant, Vincent had ordered himself a ribeye steak with bearnaise sauce. As for me, grilled salmon with spinach cream sauce. Now I know why he offered to take me out for lunch. He was the really hungry one, he just had to ask me to follow him so he wouldn't feel guilty for leaving me, and here I was thinking he cared about me.
“You're not hungry?”He noticed I was eating slower than he was. How can I be hungry when he's been acting strange around me since this week? Vincent hadn't touched me all week. Is he seeing someone else, has he found someone younger than I was? What is going on in that dick head of his? He reached for his soda.
“I want you to fuck me tonight”, Vincent coughs, spilling his drink on his face, nearly choking. I'm sure everyone here heard me, perfect. “What's wrong?”, acting like I care.
“What?”, don't ask me that, you know what's up.
“You haven't touched or kissed me, you haven't fucked me. I need you to fuck me Vincent”, I made sure he knew my mind. I could see he had nothing to say. So he knows what he has been doing all week. He cleans his mouth with a napkin.
“You want to fuck?”, to his surprise.
“Yes, Vincent, I want to fuck you”, he chuckles.
“Are you sure?”, uhm, duh!
“Of course I'm sure”, did I stutter the first time? Jesus! He's facelifted with a devious smile.
“I just wanted to know how much you wanted me”, what is he talking about? He cleans his face with a napkin. “It's good to know where your priorities lie”, so why did he steer me off sex just to make me crave it more? Jesus Christ! Who is this man? I've known him for over a month and he is still unpredictable. He's the devil, and I'm getting wet from just looking at that beautiful devil's face. “Let’s go now”, he signals the waiter.
“But I'm not done eating”, I was about digging in.
“I said let's go”, I cleared my throat.
“Yes sir”, lowering my head and walking behind him as we left.
We stood in front of the restaurant and a chauffeur brought the car around. “Hey, Se, Se!”I spotted Alexander from across the road calling out my name. Oh, shit! What is he doing here? He crosses and finally gets to where we are.
“Alex, what are you doing here?”, what the fuck, Alex? What was he doing here? Without warning, Alexander kisses me right in front of Vincent.
I'm dead…
Serena’s POV Walking into the office the next morning took me by surprise at what Jerry had done. My office desk wasn’t where it was meant to be, he had moved it to only God knows where. “Oh, there you are'' Jerry approaches me from the corner. “Where’s my desk?” I was a little confused and couldn't realize that this was Jerry’s friendly way of making me change my blue hair. It’s not ethical for the workplace. “You’ll be happy to find that your desk has been moved to a more comfortable location for you to work at your maximum productivity”, he said with a dirty smirk on his face, “Hope you find it truly comfortable”, he patted my shoulders before leaving. What have you done, you dwarf? “What did you do to my desk? You’re compromising my assistance to Mr. Vincent and I'm sure he wouldn't like to see I'm not where I'm supposed to be” Got you, you little piece of… “And I'll be glad to inform you that Mr Boyega won't be coming in today” “What, is he sick?” “That's for me to worry abou

Serena’s POV:My night class surprisingly ensued in time tonight. Mr Quinn had some urgency of some sort at home. “Are you gonna dye your hair back to black”, Benita sits on a rotating bar stool, as I lay hopelessly on the flour drained of energy. Worse of all our air-conditioning is damaged and the handyman won't be here for the next two days. We're both on our inner, the heatwave is milking us both.“It's not a big deal either way, I think it's about time I did something different with my hair”“You’re mixed right”, I raised my head to give Benita a disgusted expression. We’ve been friends for over five years Benita, and you’re asking me this? Nah, she’s pulling my legs.“Really girl”?“Oh!”, coming to her senses, “my bad”“Hmm hmm”, sigh“Haven’t heard from Vincent. Heard is out sick”“No calls from him either”?, I nodded my head.“Don’t even know how to feel about that”“I’m sure he’s alive, and probably still breathing”“He Better be”, chuckles, exhales…“Alexander? I hope that b
Mr Vincent POV:Seeing Serena lying on the bed unconscious made me sick in my Tommy, this was all my fault and I knew it. If I wasn't there, the accident wouldn't have happened. Now she's in the hospital all because of me.“This is all my fault, Benita. If I wasn't in you guys' way if I hadn't jammed into both of you, Serena would be fine”“Don't sound like that Mr. V, she'll be fine, I promise”Serena’s Day had started like every other day, with the familiar hustle and bustle of city life. She works hard, I'll give her that. Little did she know that by nightfall she would find herself lying on a hospital bed. Makes you realize that life is short.“I'm going to get something to eat, you want anything”? Benita said looking exhausted. “I'm good, thanks”, as Benita walked out of the room, I began to have a taste of coffee, so I called her back. “Uhm.. Benita…”“Yea”?“Coffee would be fine”“Okay, I'll be right back”, I thought of the suit I had on all day. I didn't even realize I had th
Mr Vincent POV:As I waited for the hospital staff to finalize the arrangements for Serena's room, my mind raced with a mixture of relief and anticipation. I had been determined to ensure Serena received the best possible care, but the prospect of making a substantial donation to the hospital weighed heavily on his mind.As I sat in the waiting area, my thoughts turned to Serena—her strength, her resilience, and the unwavering dedication she brought to her work. She deserved nothing but the best, and I knew I was determined to see to it that she received it, regardless of the cost. After what felt like an eternity, the hospital staff returned with a smile, confirming that Serena would be moved to the hospital's finest accommodations. Finally, I breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that his efforts had paid off."Thank you," I said sincerely to the staff member, his gratitude evident in his voice. "Please let Serena know that I'll be checking in on her regularly."The staff member nodde
Serena’s POV “Jesus!” I woke up to see I had been transferred into a much more spacious room. I couldn't hold my feelings. I wanted to burst out with joy. No wonder I had a much more peaceful night than the last. I mean, this is amazing. Why did the hospital change my room? Bewildered “Wow, this is nice”, I said softly. “Feeling better”? Mr Vincent said, walking in with a bouquet. Did he do this? I'm sure he did. If he did, then he must have done it as a show-off. “This was all you”? I needed to be sure. “Uhm… the hospital thought it'd be best for you. You know, your condition and all”, uh-hmm, that's the best thing you could come up with? “Mr. Vincent, the room… It's amazing. Thank you” “Oh, no. You should be thanking the hospital and not me” “I know it's you, Mr Vincent. Thank you”, he chuckles with a bold smile. “You're welcome”, he replied, gladly. Just then, Benita entered the room with two cups of coffee in her hands. She sips hers. “Where's mine”? she nearly choked on
Serena’s POV:Finally, I got to leave the hospital today. The nurses have been helping me pack up my things from the room, into a bag. It's been three days and I'm starting to get cranky in here. I sat on the hospital bed, flipping through a magazine. Mr Vincent had to go to work but chose to come see me first. He is standing nearby, checking his phone.Vincent smiles at me “I'm so glad you're feeling better. How about we make this weekend memorable? You deserve some luxury after being cooped up here.”I smiled “That sounds nice, but I don't want to be a burden”, my smile was weak, being cooped up in here for that long made me feel more stressed out. What I should be doing is resting, and not making memorable nights with Mr Vincent.Mr Vincent places his hands on my shoulder. “Nonsense. It's settled then. You're coming with me.”“I'll be fine, sir. Thank you though, for the thought and consideration. Nice gesture coming from you”, I teased him so he wouldn't feel bad about me not taki
Serena’s POV:Vincent wears back his white shirt with his undies still on. I covered myself with his sheets, tucking myself in it, still panting from earlier. “I'm having guest over later tonight”, he said while struggling to fix his buttons. I rushed to assist him.“Here, let me help”. We both smiled at each other. “What kind of guest”?“Oh, just something my dad started when I was little. A ball dance”I laughed harder than I had ever laughed in my entire life. “Did you say ball dance? What is this, London”? “I mean it's alright”, his mood changes. I knew I had upset him.“Well, good luck with that. Have fun though”“Oh, you're coming to the dance”“No, hmm, no”“Yes”“No”“Yes”, he grabs my ass and draws me closer to him, kissing me.“Yes”, I whispered.“Good. Are you hungry”?“Oh, definitelyAlexander’s POV:Alexander paces back and forth in his apartment, early agitated. His phone is on him, he tries calling Serena. “What's going on, Se? Talk to me”Serena’s POV:I stood in fron
