Four

Hugo couldn't believe any of what was happening. So this woman was a staff in his company.

He hadn't been able to get her thoughts out of his head since his encounter with her. Here she was! Isn't fate just wonderful?

As soon as he entered the conference room, he noticed a woman go limp in her chair, but he didn't see her face until now.

She was looking so radiant, she was a true beauty. She had also recognized him, because she refused to look up since the meeting began.

She had her face bent slightly downwards. He was going to watch and see if she had anything upstairs or she was just "all mouth and no brains".

About an hour later, it was her turn to continue the presentation for the project. She delivered very smoothly. She wasn't just mouth after all, but also brains.

He was particularly most impressed at how composed she was, despite the friction she felt. He had asked her some questions, to throw her off balance, but she answered all very smartly. She had truly done well.

The meeting was over and the partners were just as impressed as he was. She had made them all happy. The way she had handled the project, proved it was going to be a very exciting one. They had immediatelly approved the project.

Now she made him curious, and he really wanted to know her for himself. As soon as he got to his office, he asked his P.A to run a background check and get her office file.

He got her file and read through. Her name was Evelyn. Evelyn Spells. This was her third year working for the company. He read a few more information about her. She was an interesting woman.

Different thoughts of how to deal with her flooded his brain. He was definitely going to deal with her, maybe he'd make her his new secretary. He smiled within himself. He hadn't had a secretary for a long time now, so she'd fit perfectly well in that position.

Evelyn went back to her office still in shock. She was just staring blankly into space with her thoughts occupied. She had done well, she smiled despite herself. Her boss was very happy with her, but Mr Galverra was a problem.

She didn't know if he was impressed or not, because all through the meeting and presentation he'd been giving her a cold stare.

Jessica walked into the office all happy, but frowned quickly when she saw her friend still looking like she had seen a ghost. She wondered what was wrong with Eve.

Since the meeting began, she'd been acting like she was trying to hide from someone. Did she recognize one of those French people? She tapped her.

"Evelyn, are you ok?"

"I don't know Jessica. Who was that man?"

"What man?"

"The one who sat at the head table"

"Mr Galverra?? That's the CEO.... is something wrong?"

"That's the man Jess...that's the man I yelled at rhe Gold-market"

Jessica gasped in shock, this was not good. Mr Galverra was known to be ruthless and cold most of the time.

"I called him a moron Jessica, I...I." she paused

"Did he recognize you?"

"Yes, very well, he was giving me quite stare"

Jessica just stared at her friend, even she didn't have a solution to this one. She just consoled her friend telling her not to worry.

Evelyn went home. She showered, she dtheidn't have the strength to cook, so she ordered pizza. She already had wine. She was going to celebrate herself tonight. She had stunned herself, and had done absolutely great.

Her mind drifted back to Hugo Galverra. In a million years, she'd never imagine this man was the CEO of her company. The man had charisma and finesse, and sounded very eloquent and intelligent. His aura was magnetic.

Physically he had an appealing body, but not his face, because he always carried a deep frown with him all the time. Who would want that kind of man who was always frowning, certainly not her!

She wasn't even much of a relationship person herself. She had dated only once. It was a French guy named Pierre. She wasn't even sure if she ever loved him as much as he did. Her relationship with Pierre had only lasted six months.

He'd been the one putting all the energy into the relationship, he didn't seem to mind though, but she felt suffocated and had to let him go. It broke him, but it was best for both of them. She had never loved anyone. She found love to be weird and never really understood it. It wasn't her thing.

She wondered what Hugo was going to do? Would he fire her? A kind of fear crept into her instantly. This man didn't seem normal. He seemed like the type that would wake up one morning and fire you for just staring at him. But she had done worse than staring.

She prayed to God to give her a chance, she was going to be humble and apologize to him. She prayed he would forget about her as quickly as possible, but she doubted if that would ever happen. She had left an imprint on him, and now it was hard to shake off.

She did a little more research about him. She couldn't loose her job, not right now. She hoped things would go back to normal and she never see him or cross path with him again. She finished eating and went to bed. Tomorrow was another day. She was going to be positive and not bother herself with so much.
