Chapter Ninety

We fell into an immediate silence as we calmed ourselves down. He never told me the direct answers i needed but if I would use my common sense to it, i could somehow distinguish what he was trying to to tell me. I was truly agitated about knowing the danger that kept on lurking behind me and our son, yet with his promising words and how sincere they were to my ears... i felt a bit comforted.

Maybe i trust him. I unconsciously do.

"So... uhm, i have one word. You can sleep here." I reopened that topic because i couldn't think of any other excuse to get myself out of the awkwardness worsened by the crickets everywhere.

Gone the hardness of his expression, it has come back to normal and when i say normal, it's likely cold yet bearable.

"I might take the couch then." His stares were evenly deep.

I gulped, conscious all of a sudden. "No, uh... you can sleep on my bed. We can share. I mean, no biggie. I was just overreacting earlier." I tried shrugging it in the end to convince him more.
