Chapter 88 Too Toxic

Lucky's POV

Our lunch date did not happen because mom called, informing us that Rain came with some police officers. She's taking baby Damon back.

Damien held my hand while he's driving his car. I glanced at him and I can see that he's very calm.

"Won't you fight for baby Damon? No one will take care of him except for us, Damien."

He glanced at me. "We already talked about this, Lucresia. I'm fighting for him."

I smiled and slowly nodded. "That's a relief."

"But if you're doing this out of guilt…"

"No, Damien." I shook my head. "I truly want to claim him as my own son. It's not about guilt or what."

He nodded. "Then, let me handle things. We'll have him, I promise."

"Of all the promises I've heard, yours remained unbroken. You never fail me, Damien. You never broke your promise."

He smiled and kissed the back of my hand. "I'm a man of my word, Lucresia."
