Chapter 144: The second challenge

And so I did.

In one movement, I turned around and faced Adrian. My eyes caught his and it felt like years since I had been this close to him. To look into his brown eyes and time seemed to slow down. We stared at each other for several moments and I felt the layers around myself unravelling.

"Where is your ring?" He eyed my hand, which was missing the ring with the blue diamond. "My dresser." I answered, my voice smaller than I had intended. A frustrated sigh left him. "You don't like it?" He asked, stepping closer to me, like a predator. I thought about the ring, the ring that looked so much like a wedding ring. A wedding ring that might not be on my hand at the end of this competition, but on someone else's hand. "No." I lied, my voice a bit harder.

Adrian eyed me, his eyes serious and open and his mouth a hard line. His body was tense and he stepped even closer to me, making my breasts touch his chest lightly. I looked up at him without looking away. "Luckily, I have many more.
