Chapter 106: Micah's POV: Puzzle

She promised.

Gabrielle promised she wouldn't do anything rash.

It had been two weeks since Gabrielle left and the whole realm was in absolute fucking shit. Adrian had left and only returned some nights with nothing but blood all over his body. He didn't speak. He didn't sleep. Of course I didn't leave when he told me to. He needed me, even when he thought he didn't.

I took over the organisation of the ships and the training of the army. The only servant that he allowed in was Luzo, but she notified me that he wasn't eating and drinking at all. Bar the three bottles of whiskey a day. She had apparently given him a pair of pyjamas of Gabrielle and had them with him every time she entered the red quarters.

The black stallion was properly cared for, and the dog that was never allowed in the castle, slept with him.

Nobody was allowed in his quarters, which meant he also didn't get any lust. It hadn't stop raining since that one faithful morning and nothing grew anymore. The lack of l
