My eyes fluttered open to the sound of birds chirping outside the window. I slowly propped myself up in bed as I rubbed my eyes groggily, yawning.

Where was I? What happened last night, and how did I get here? I tried to recall the horrid events of yesterday and everything that's happened. My heart sank at the thought that I would probably never see my mate again.
