Jasmine's POV.

From the way his brows creased in confusion, I knew that I had an opening. It was now up to me to seize it with both hands or just keep staring at him without answering any questions.

"What the hell do you mean by that?"

"Exactly what I said, baby..." I drawled, smirking lightly. A flicker of emotions ran through his face causing me to chuckle softly.

"That's the most ridiculous thing that I've ever heard. I know that you're cross with Jake which is understandable but spinning lies on him, is too low for even you don't you think?" He accused me.

I sighed and rolled my eyes in frustration at the way he was handling things. I was sure that he was feeling a certain way but that didn't mean that I was lying.

"You know what? Why don't you just call him and ask if I'm telling the truth or not before writing me off completely. We've come a long way." I drawled again, knowing that it would piss him off.

It went accordingly. His eyes narrowed angrily at me and I chuckled. "You're not the only one with a temper Mr. Rafael. We both know what we want and we will get it." I spoke.

He frowned but ignored me instead.

"It was nice doing business with you, I'll see you around." He muttered, signaling the end of the conversation but that was because he didn't understand how I operated. If I was interested in something, I would go to any lengths to get it done.

"I understand that this information could be overwhelming even for you but I'll be here when you're ready to talk. I'm sure you can find a way to reach me. Trust me when I say that you'll beg me for this piece of information." I bragged before adjusting my dress and wearing my shoes.

I wasn't going to look like I was doing the walk of shame. "Thank you for your time, baby." I called before slamming the door shut.

I heaved a sigh. Damn, that man could plow through a woman and leave her still wanting for more. How did he have such energy despite being older? I guess certain things never left a person even when they were older. I was perplexed and tired at the same time.

I needed a cold shower to cool my nether regions.

I hailed a cab, "Take me to Golden Hotel." I instructed the driver so that he made no errors as he led me away. I wasn't in the mood to discuss anything with anyone at least not at the moment but likewise the same thing with me.

My phone began to buzz loudly and I rolled my eyes. Who the hell was calling me? I looked at the screen and suspected that it was my lovely people who decided to have that conversation with me. I on the other hand was pissed at the way my father was suddenly acting.

"Yes?"

"Where are you?" My father demanded rudely.

I hung up instantly, I wasn't going to engage them in this conversation. If they didn't think that they should apologize, then I had nothing to discuss with them. It was as simple as that.

My phone kept on buzzing incessantly and I hissed. Swiping across the screen, I picked up. "Yes, what do you want? How can I help you?"

"Jasmine, where are you? We need to talk."

"Can you introduce yourself? I don't know who's speaking." I answered, calming myself down from unleashing my anger on him. It wasn't going to end well and the last thing I wanted was to give off the image that I was still in love with him. Whatever that means.

"Oh, really?"

"Yeah, really... If you know what's good for you, you'll stop calling me. State your name, and your cause. Let's see what I can do to that." I answered promptly, I didn't have the time nor energy to engage in such a conversation.

"Jasmine, I'm your father!"

I hung up instantly, he still hasn't gotten the memo. I wasn't going to be browbeaten into doing what I didn't want to because of the father card. He could go to hell for all I pleased.

*"You have no right to hang up on me! Why are you so stubborn?!"* His text message popped up on my screen and I quickly blocked his number.

Another strange number called me and I rolled my eyes. He wasn't giving up, was he? Well, as admirable as that was, it wouldn't help one bit.

"Yes, how may I help you? You only have five minutes." i answered in a professional tone.

I wasn't going to allow them draw me into an argument. I knew that the whole clan was probably listening to this conversation which quite frankly I didn't mind, as long as it didn't affect me one bit. If they wanted to hit their heads against a wall, then it was left to them.

"I want to have a word with you, you can't just resurface and expect us not to have questions." My Dad continued.

I chuckled, we had certain similarities.

Stubbornness.

"Still not what I asked. I'm ready when you are. It seems that won't be happening anytime soon." I answered and hung up instantly leaving them gobsmacked.

The next message was from an unknown number but I had an inkling of who it could be. The one and only love of my life...

Jake.

"Why are you acting all high and mighty? This doesn't make any sense at all. If you ask me."

"Oh, really?" I muttered to myself.

I alighted right in front of the hotel and transfered the man's charges to him.

"Thank you, ma'am!" He called after seeing that I added a tip. "i could take you all around town if you don't mind!"

I smiled yet didn't turn. I didn't want to have a permanent driver just yet. I could buy a car instead. It was time to re-strategize.
