CHAPTER SIXTY SIX

Ethan's POV

As soon as the call with Lukas ended, I let out a scream loud enough to alert everyone within ten feet of my office as I hauled my phone at the wall in frustration. The phone bounced off the wall and scattered to pieces. I stood up as I paced around my office, feeling like a caged animal.

I have never felt as powerless as I feel at the moment. I can feel whatever little control I thought I had, slip away chip by chip.

I consider picking up the phone and calling Lukas back to inform him I am not willing to go through with his stupid proposal anymore, when my office door suddenly flies open. I turned from the window I was gazing through, to see a frazzled and worried looking Alexia, panting and wide eyed as she scans my office for any kind of danger. Her gaze paused on the broken phone beside the wall, before turning her gaze to me as her eyes scanned my body for any visible injuries. When she doesn't find any injuries or danger she turns a confused gaze at me.
