Chapter 6

Chloe’s POV

I watched him rake his hands through his hair, eyes closed like he’d regretted asking that.

“Why…” I stuttered, pulling a few strands of hair from the back of my ear.

“Why would you want to know that in particular,” I asked, fluttering my eyelashes.

Silence fell heavy in the room as I stared back at him, waiting for a response.

“I already know the answer to that,” He responded, breaking the silence between us. And this time, he had his eyes locked on mine with a barely perceptible shrug.

My eyebrows shot up almost instantly at his response, as I had both hands wrapped against my chest staring back at him.

“Single, and not interested thank you,” He read out loud, tapping swiftly on the keys of his computer. I shot him a glare, wondering why he’d said that.

“Your Facebook profile says that,” He added.

Instantly I quickly remembered I had that displayed on my profile, a couple of months ago. I bit my lips at his icy tone trying so hard not to look him in the eye.
