The Accident

The fight between the couple could  no longer be hidden from the children.

It's not as if they have ever hidden anything from their children, but knowing that Stan their second son, might want to kill his father, if any one hurts his mother, Mrs Rosaline, have decided to lie to her children, instead of saying the truth, but this time, she is willing to let all earth loose, as her heart, can no longer contain what her husband Charles, have done to her.

Mrs Rosaline Charles, raised her voice at her husband, for the first time in a long time.

Her voice was not raised, just to rain curses at him, but to shock him, with her words.

"I want a divorce".

She said to him, and he looked trapped, in his own sins.

"Please Rose, don't say that".

He whispered, though he would have wanted to scream in pain, and beg, he still needed to keep his ego, as a man.

He is in love with Megan, but he loves his wife too.

How did he allow things get so bad?

He thought within him, but by the time, he looked up his wife, she was in tears, and for the first time, he realised, he had hurt his wife.

Some years ago, he couldn't think straight, he was so inlove with Roseline, that he quit his cassanova ways for her.

She was very patient with him, and was willing to do just anything to be with him.

Now that they are both growing old together, and he is supposed to love her better, he hurt her.

His eyes welled up in tears, as he could not find the right words, to tell her, that he is sorry.

But saying sorry, would mean that he is ready to stop seeing Megan.

Is that even possible for him?

Megan is carrying his child, and somehow, he just feels drawn, towards her.

After thinking about what she had said, and how his life would turn out, if he ever allows her to go, he decided to beg her, and keep her.

I know I wronged you, I am wrong to have acted in such a manner, just saying sorry is not enough, I deserve to be punished, but leaving me, would mean, killing me.

Charles is used to this line.

He could always get her, just by apologizing, but on this day, she seem to be too angry with him, that she could never forgive him.

Looking at his face was almost impossible, as her tears kept dropping.

Then she looked up at him, and wiped her tears.

"I don't want you anymore.

 I cannot believe I spent Thirty-five years of my life, with a man like you.

You cheated on me with a prostitute, and as if cheating wasn't enough, you slept with her, without protection and got her pregnant, and you want me to just act like that didn't happen?

She is keeping the baby, and tomorrow, she would want to come and claim inheritance with my children.

How will you even look at your children in the eye, and tell them, you are having  a child with a prostitute?

Do you know what that would do to your reputation?

My reputation?

"Please Rose, we can always find a way".

He caught in on her words, and she raised her hands to stop him.

"I used to think we could find a way, and I have always been finding ways, to cover your ars, but not this time.

I am leaving you, and your silly life style.

You can go and stay with your bitch and her baby.

You will hear from my Lawyer, and also, the kids".

She says, and stormed out of the house.

That was another act, Charles didn't see coming.

He would never have thought that a day would come, when she would walk out on him.

That wasn't the only case, it is late in the night, where will she go to, by such an hour?

When he heard the door, slammed hard, he shook his head, as though, he just woke up, from a trance.

He rushed after her, but she already, got into the car, and is leaving the garage.

He got into another car, and drove after her.

She was driving too fast, her eyes welled up in tears.

Her vision, was getting blurry, and she almost felt blind,  that she did not know, that there is an incoming vehicle.

She collided with the vehicle, and they both came to a stop.

Charles also stopped from afar, and his bumper was also hit, by the car behind, but he isn't hurt, but looking at the car, where his wife is, he could already tell, that she is badly hurt.

He would have loved to rush out, if only that would help ease the pain in his heart, but help already got to her.

Those close to her, help get her out, she she is unconscious.

Charles gently alighted from his car, and as he moved towards her, it was as though, he was in a trance.

Soon the paramedics got there, and helped her into the van, with the man she collided with.

Charles couldn't speak for a long time, he just kept looking at her, as she is being carried away, until, he was tapped on the shoulder.

"Are you okay?

He heard a harsh voice.

He turned to find one of the paramedics personnel.

"My wife".

He whispered, and the tears, left his eyes.

How will he explain to his children, that his wife is hurt, because of his ways?

It's not even as though he is sure of Megan.

She doesn't love him, and she has made it clear to him many times.

 She is just one of those girls, that wants to make it in life.

She has been through a lot, and she just wants to make it.

Admist his thought, he started getting flashes of camera lights, and that is when he remembered that he is outside, and being a well known figure in the society, soon, his images, will be all over the place.

He got in to his car, and drove quietly behind the ambulance, and praying, that nothing happens to her.

He could not try to be bold again, he allowed his tears flow, as he drove behind.

Asking himself, how he got to such a level with his wife.
