Mistress Meets Luna

Dravin's POV

Things are getting a little annoying.

I stared at the subtle face-off going on in my office right now and couldn't help but sigh.

A knock drew all of our attention, and Soren walked in.

"Alpha, I—"

He paused at the sight I have been forced to watch for the past hour now.

Seated in the living room section of my office were two ladies staring at each other from the farthest ends of the adjacent couches.

One was a chubby, scarred lady, and the other a beauty that can be barely quantified. There are only a few women that I've recognized as a masterpiece of the goddess, considering my high standards, and she was one of them.

Soren took a second to stare at me with a question in his eyes.

When he got nothing, he cleared his throat uncomfortably.

"Um, I'll be back later, Alpha."

He was out of the door before I could say a word of protest.

That bastârd.

Both women watched the door for a few seconds even after Soren left, and then turned their attention to each other—one with a curious expression and the other with a smug one.

I buried my head in my hands as I wondered:

"How did it all get to this?"

It's been two days since Elora asked for her "purpose," expressing her desire to perform her duties as Luna. Personally, I was quite surprised by her guts. I thought she'd be the type to cower and simply try to stay out of my sight. Considering her size, I also expected her to just stuff her face and live carefree.

At least, that was what I wanted.

Her desire to actually do something that might put her in the eyes of the public—exposed to their criticism and mockery—was quite impressive.

But that doesn't mean I was okay with it.

She only has two months.

She'll be dead by that time.

I don't need another Luna disappearing for no good reason after being flaunted in front of the people, especially not a scarred, fat, and ugly bitch.

There were already rumors that I was forced to marry her, as well as rumors that I killed my brides. Both were true—but not in the ways the people think.

If she grabs public attention and then disappears, it would reinforce the theory that I kill my brides, especially since they were quite certain that I wasn't attracted to her.

I also noticed that she was hiding something that day. A thought that has plagued me ever since.

For those reasons, I decided to deny her request and keep her from performing her duties. It was the best decision, killing two birds with one stone.

I couldn't expose her too much since she'll be dying soon, and I couldn't let her out of my sight or control until I was sure of her and her secrets.

Unfortunately, she was quite serious about her threat.

Elora has basically stuck to me like glue, and even the threat of death didn't seem to faze her. For two days, she followed me everywhere.

I couldn't let the guards stop her since I was curious about how long she would keep that up.

It could also be good exercise for her chubby body.

I regret that decision now.

The gorgeous lady, Camilla, was my mistress. An absolute specimen of undeniable beauty. So much so that I couldn't bear to lose her.

So, I never married her.

I kept her close to me. She never truly satiated my lust, but she kept it at bay. She was a much-needed release—and a beautiful one too. Losing her would be too much of a loss.

It would have been—and it still is.

Even though I suspect Elora would satisfy the amount of barely leashed desire I've had to deal with for centuries now, I couldn't bring myself to even think of having sêx with her.

Camilla, on the other hand, is always there to relieve some of the pressure. She gave all of her body to me and allowed me to use her in ways most girls cannot handle.

Of course, it was for a steep price, but there's nothing I have more than money to spend.

She decided to surprise me today, much to my dismay.

It led to my present predicament.

Elora, my rightful Luna and an irredeemable pest, along with Camilla, my mistress and the one I valued the most.

It was a dilemma I was not in the mood to handle, so I just let them sit and stare at each other until one decided to speak up.

"Um, hi?" Elora finally said.

"A little late to be exchanging pleasantries, isn't it?" Camilla smiled, mild amusement playing on her lips. "We've been staring at each other for at least thirty minutes now, haven't we?"

Elora frowned at that.

"I wasn't exactly exchanging pleasantries. Besides, you stared at me first."

Camilla laughed at that.

"A pretty feisty little one, aren't you?"

Elora turned her attention to me.

"Dravin, who is this?"

"Oh, leave him out of this," Camilla said as she turned to me, her eyes staring into mine. "His eyes are beautiful, aren't they?"

Once again, Elora frowned in confusion but didn't reply.

Camilla turned back to face her.

"Dravin, huh? I didn't think you'd be bold enough to call him by his name yet. Isn't he a demon to you?"

"To me?" Elora scoffed as her gaze fell back on me, malice and hate evident in it. "He's a demon to everyone. At least, outside of the Sulk Pack."

"Outside, huh?" Camilla nodded. "What about inside? You don't think he's a demon in here?"

This time, Elora's eyes fell on Camilla, calm and firm.

"I have no reason to answer your questions. Not until I know who you are."

"Camilla, what are you doing here?" I asked before Camilla could reply.

"I came to surprise you," she said easily. "Obviously, I didn't expect you to have... um... company."

"You could have informed me," I said as I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"That would take too long," she shrugged. "It was a spontaneous decision."

Bullshît.

That decision was definitely not spontaneous.

Camilla was as beautiful as she was manipulative, which is a lot on both counts. She knew I had just brought home my bride. She knew my bride lived in my home.

She didn't even come to see _me_.

She came to see my bride. To size her up.

And she was in a good mood, knowing that it wasn't even a competition between them. She was a lot more than Elora could ever be. Physically, at least.

"Would anyone like to cue me in on what's going on right now?" Elora asked. "Dravin, is she your sister?"

Camilla snorted.

"No," I replied quickly. "She is not my sister."

"You could say we are friends of some sort," she laughed.

Elora stared at Camilla for a few seconds, annoyance etching itself on her chubby features, and for a second, a single second...

I thought she was cute.

The way her eyes narrowed, with her chubby cheeks becoming more pronounced as her lips were set in a thin line.

It looked cute.

I killed that thought immediately.

I couldn't possibly find a woman like her cute.

"Camilla, stop—"

"You're his mistress, aren't you?" Elora asked, but her eyes were fixed on me.

Her face was expressionless, but those eyes...

Those blue eyes judged me.

_Don't stare at me with those eyes,_ I thought. _Not with her eyes. Not with Iri..._

I let the thought trail off, reluctant to remember the name that haunted my existence. The name that cursed me.

"Don't stare at me like that," I muttered under my breath as I looked away, focusing on my desk but seeing nothing.

Camilla's voice brought me back from my thoughtless stare with a small jolt.

"You are smart," she said. "I am his mistress. I've been with him a—"

"Luna," Elora cut her off, but her eyes were still trained on me.

"What?" Camilla asked, stunned.

Finally, her eyes moved to Camilla.

"I am the Luna of the Sulk Pack. You will refer to me as Luna."

For the first time since arriving here, Camilla looked stumped. Almost like she had never expected to be challenged like that.

Did she think I married a fool?

Then, she laughed.

It was a melodic sound, coming from a voice that sounded like a blessing to the ears—only it was laden with underlying mockery and a subtle hint of malice.

"Luna?" she asked as she tried to control her laugh. "I've known the Alpha a lot longer than you, girl. A lot longer."

"And yet, you don't have the title of Luna, do you?" Elora asked. "If you've been with him all of this time, why haven't you married him yet? You would have been Luna if you did. You wouldn't have to say it to me."

Camilla got visibly annoyed at that.

"You...!"

"Luna," Elora corrected again, sitting upright with as much of a perfect posture as her chubby body could allow. "I am your Queen and your Luna. You are my subject, and you will respect me."

Ava's POV I was scared.Even as I held my ground, staring into those black and silver eyes, I was terrified, and I knew it. If looks could kill, I was sure Dravin would have killed me by now. His glare was so intense that I almost instinctively took a step back. But I didn't. If I backed down now, then I was unsure if I could ever muster up the courage to do this again. The lingering confidence I could feel from Elora's fading personality was the only thing I could greedily latch on to. It was all that helped me stand my ground. The head maid’s words, along with Lyanna's lecture, inspired me as well, and I wasn't going to let all of that go to waste by being a coward now. "Are you trying to dupe me?" he asked, the anger still evident in his tone. I blinked in surprise at that. Of all the things I expected him to say, that was the least. "You want to use the budget as an excuse to run away with a chunk of my money, don't you?" His eyes were glowing now. A fierce glow that ha

He always brought it up whenever we saw her, which, for some reason, has been every day for the last three days."You could have checked," I said with evident boredom in my voice. "You are in charge of intelligence.""I'm not the one getting mated to her," he argued.I looked up at him for a few seconds, but he wasn't even looking at me. A lot more than I've ever been allowed to taste. Even when I cooked for Mother and Vera, they almost never let me taste it. Fruits made up most of my diet.I tore into the food with a vengeance. Dravin's POVI walked about ten steps before I eventually heard the hesitant footsteps of my bride follow behind me.
