Alexander saw how much pain and terror she held in her little eyes.
Alexander slowly got close to the girl as she shrank in fear, and he raised his hand in front of her.
“Take my hand,” Alexander said, but she got even more scared instead of doing it.
“If you take my hand, I’ll take you to meet your parents, and I promise if you hold my hand now, in this world, no one can get even near to hurt you, so do you want to take my hand?”
Alexander knew if he forced her, she would be even caged, but he needed to make her understand he was not someone who would hurt her.
Rose looked at Alexander; she was hesitant, her blue eyes shifting between his hand and her tiny little hand, which was dug into her pink dress; when she saw he waited patiently.
She was taking time, and he didn’t even look angry or didn’t take his hand away. She calms down still not knowing what to do.
“Little girl, you can trust him, Don't mind his face, it was his birth gift. But he always keeps his promises.” Daniel added when he saw the girl, he couldn’t believe Alexander’s promise.
Damn it, girl, if Alexander Ariston is giving you a promise for life, just believe him; if this promise were for him, he would jump on it already because a promise from Alexander Ariston means even the grim reaper would think twice about coming behind you.
Rose heard the man’s words, and there was a subtle shiver on her hands, revealing her internal struggle between her mind and her heart, her eyes showing it.
But when she faced the unknown man’s eyes before herself, she slowly raised her tiny hand; she didn’t even have the strength to take her hand to him as if she didn't want to go forward. Alexander understood her struggle and brought forward his hand and grabbed her little hand.
Her small hand was cold and too small compared to his big hand; as their hand met, Rose felt warmness, and it calmed her mind as she looked at him again, and this time, there was a little hope sparked in her mysterious eyes.
“No one can hurt you anymore. You now belong to Alexander Ariston, so you don’t need to be afraid, and no one will call you princess again, okay?” Alexander understood where her fear lay, and he took it out.
The realization was drawn to Daniel, so it’s a triggered word for her, thank god. He didn’t call her again; otherwise, Alexander would’ve kicked him ruthlessly.
He was shocked at how this man understood the girl. He was the doctor, but Alexander was not. Looking at her reaction, he understood Princess's words triggered this girl, what kind of magical connection these two have.
But what Daniel didn’t know was that it was not an ordinary connection; it was something no one could even imagine. God built this connection.
“I….” Rose wanted to say something, but she hesitated.
But Alexander understood, “Do you want to say something, little Rose?” The man asked.
Rose blinked. She had something to say, but she couldn’t bring herself to ask because it seemed she had the answer in her heart, but still somewhere in her heart, she hoped, even a little, god might be kind to her.
“Uncle, my mom, my dad, are they alive?” Rose might be ten years old, but for being strong, no one could beat her because her father taught her life is not always about fairytales; it would take more than it would give you.
Both Alexander and Daniel fall silent because they have no answer for her, and the answer they have is not for her; she just lost everyone, and she had no one as her own.
But still, they couldn’t lie to her just seeing how hard she tried to hold back her emotions.
“Little Rose, I’m telling you something; you need to understand, okay?” Daniel looked at the girl and tried to find words to explain to her about her parent's death.
Rose blinked, tears welling in her eyes as she struggled to keep the fear in her heart hidden, the emotions a mixture of hope and fear, yet it seemed fear won.
“Dad and Mommy went to a beautiful place with the baby. The baby didn’t like this place, so they took the baby to a place where the baby would be happy, but a big baby like our little Rose is not allowed there, so they didn’t take Rose with them.” Daniel thought these words would be enough to calm her down.
Instead, tears, which Rose tried her best to hold back, kept falling.
“Uncle, my mommy and daddy are not alive anymore, right? The baby is also dead?” Little Rose’s words buzzed in everyone’s ears, silence fell in the room, the atmosphere changed, and coldness sized the air.
Daniel and Alexander exchanged a look. Alexander understood the girl might be ten years old, but her intelligence was different than a 10-year-old's; she might've been hurt, but she understood the reality of her situation.
“Little Rose, listen to me; Mommy and Daddy went to heaven because their duty in this world ended. The baby has to follow them because he is too small to stay without them, but you’re a big girl, Little Rose, you have me now.”
Alexander’s smooth-talking surprised Harold and Daniel, freezing them with a foreseen astonishment.
Is this man for real? He had never even talked to anyone with a straight face because he thought talking to humans was a waste of time, yet he gently and patiently tried to coax a little girl’s emotion. Is the world about to end?
But they didn’t dare to voice their opinion; Rose barely could keep track of her emotions, but unlike a 10-year-old who would just break, Rose looked strong.
“Uncle, Can I see my mom and dad one last time?" I want to say goodbye to them so they can leave with my baby brother easily.” Rose looked with a begging gaze at Alexander.
Everyone looked at the girl with surprise; it seemed Maxwell Hart did an excellent job raising this girl; otherwise, how could a 10-year-old girl be so strong even after suffering so much?
But unlike Daniel and Harold, Alexander saw something in Rose’s eyes; when he met the girl, her eyes were full of fear, but there was hope. Now her eyes changed, and these eyes were similar to someone he knew, and that person was none other than him.
When he first faced the world's reality, he changed from a little boy to a man, so he knew what she was thinking in her heart.
If it were someone else, he would be proud, but when her eyes changed, he didn’t want her to become like him, where life would be full of nightmares; even though he changed and he doesn’t regret it, he didn’t want her to change to become a living corpse.
He just didn’t like the idea.
“Little Rose, I’ll let you meet your dad and mom, but you have to promise me something,” Alexander said as he said gently.
Rose raised her curious gaze and looked at the man she called uncle. She just nodded; as long as this man would let her meet her parents, it didn’t matter what kind of promise he asked her.“Then, let’s go to meet your parents first; as for the promise, I’ll take it in front of your dad,” Alexander said, his voice steady and reassuring; how gentleness was enough to give Rose calmness because she needed someone to believe and hold on and Alexander threw away the real him.His gentle smile hid the darkness and mystery behind it, and he became a different person in front of the girl; even Daniel and Butler Harold couldn't see their eyes; the man in front of him was not their master; they couldn’t accept the reality because it was just an illusion.“Let’s go,” Alexander said to the girl, and Rose took his hand.Alexander brought her where he had kept the bodies; he was just waiting for this girl’s last meeting with her parents. When Rose saw her parents, it seemed they didn’t take the bab
8 years later“Oh my god, can you stop causing trouble for a day? I just want to erase the date from my life when I became a friend with you, damn it, girl, one day you will be the death of me, just remember what I said today.” a boy around twenty said as he panicked when a girl who was just a little younger than him tried to sneak out of the tiger den.The girl who was trying to be like a little thief turned around, her long, lengthy hair flipped as she turned, her blue eyes sparked with a blend of innocence and irritation, her small flawless face radiated a captivating mix of cuteness, her dedicated small round face was framed with black straight tailbone length hair.A pair of lips, naturally tinted with a subtle peach hue, pouted angrily at the man in front of her; her messy, straight hair covered half of her face as she was leaning down, she flipped her hair once again, and her white slender neck was enough to arouse any man’s desire.Standing tall, she boasted a pair of long, s
“Do you want to seduce all the men? Even calling girls dresses in better clothes than you.” This girl always causes trouble; if Rose creates a mess, she will create a storm.Jane looked at the boy in front of her with an angry red face. "Logan Ariston, shut your mouth, call girl? Huh, if you open your mouth again, I’m going to kill you.” Jane stared at Logan as if she was going to burn him with her eyes.Rose rubbed her aching forehead; what she was thinking when she called these two together, how could she forget whenever these two came, they would drag each other as if they wanted to kill each other?“Stop, both of you; we’re here for fun, not to kill each other. Can you two stop? Otherwise, I’m going in without you.” Rose turned her back and walked toward the entrance as if she were walking away without them; these two were the first versions of past lives' enemies.Jane and Logan both followed her inside. But before they entered the main entrance, he grabbed both of them.“I don’
The moment Rose and Jane appeared, the men’s eyes fell on them one after another, and soon, the entire crowd stopped their activity and started toward them, especially Rose, a rare Rose who looked out of place yet too attractive for any man to avoid her.Logan felt he had invited himself to hell. He already knew how men would react toward this girl, but it seemed he had underestimated her beauty; it might be because he thought everything would be okay as long as she behaved.Despite that, her beauty attracted too much attention.“Rose, I’ll go and arrange a private room for you two; it’s too crowded here.” Logan was not a fool. He understood that a storm would soon fall on his head if he didn’t drag these two away.Since these two want to have fun, they could have as much fun as they want in the private room, at least he could save some trouble, otherwise, if something bigger happens, his uncle would skin him alive and feed his meat to wild animals. But he didn’t know the moment. He w
His eyes were on Rose as if he were taking a deep moment to examine her from head to toe, waiting for a show with a calm mind. Rose, whose gaze was already fixed on him, sensed his intense stare, but she didn’t betray any reaction on her face. She kept her eyes on him. All she needed was to start small, like trapping a cockroach, before taking on the lion. Only then could she reach her target. When the boy felt an attraction towards her, he raised his hand, wanting to touch Rose’s face. But before his hand could reach her, another hand appeared. Rose's reflexes kicked in instantly. In a swift movement, she caught his wrist with a grip so strong it made him wince. Her expression shifted from curiosity to defensive alertness.Jane, who stood behind Rose, whistled in a joking manner when she saw the boy’s face turn red with pain. Clearly, Rose was not in the mood to show mercy to anyone who dared touch her face. Her face and body were off-limits. Only Mr. Ariston could approach with su
Victoria expected Rose to relent and disclose her identity. Instead, Rose snorted coldly. “I’m not interested in divulging my identity to anyone.” Rose's straightforward response infuriated Victoria. She gritted her teeth but maintained a perfect facade in front of the man. However, this outburst triggered spoiled brat, Adler Dawson. “Enough. How dare you show such an attitude in front of Sister Victoria. I’ve had enough of your nonsense. If I don’t teach you a lesson today, then I’m not Adler Dawson. Come inside.” As he called out, several guards rushed in and eyed their master.“Hold her and teach her a lesson,” Adler ordered his men as they eyed Rose like prey. Jane scoffed. This boy was pushing his luck. She wanted to give him a piece of her mind. However, Rose had asked her not to provoke them here, and they had other business with them, so she reluctantly held back.“Idiot, it seems your family didn’t teach you to control your foul mouth with your rotten brain,” Jane's hand
Sure enough, he wasn't mistaken; it was these two brats. What were they doing here at such an hour? As he looked around, he noticed no guards nearby, and his heart sank.He hurriedly advanced, entering a private room designated for the president. Inside, several individuals sat comfortably, each a pillar of the North country's economy. If ordinary people saw them together, their hearts would skip a beat, not just from fear but also from awe at their commanding presence. These men were all middle-aged, in their late thirties, each radiating an air of secrecy and power. Among them was Benjamin Grant, renowned for his jewelry business, which he had elevated to new heights through astute management and a stellar military career.Another figure present was Matthew Harrison, the tech magnate of the North country, whose innovations shaped the nation's technological landscape. "Damn it, I forgot! Bro, I just saw your princess down the hallway." Boom... The jewelry box’s lid slammed shut with a thud."What did you say?" The way he shouted made Peter jump in fear, suddenly nervous. He was about to explain when Benjamin’s assistant emerged with the box, confirming Peter’s fear of retribution from his brother. Benjamin was notoriously protective when it came to his "princess.""Yes, when I arrived, I saw her down the hallway." Peter was certain he hadn’t seen anything wrong."Are you sure it was Miss Princess and not someone else?" Daniel questioned. Rose would never visit such a place, he believed, knowing her better than himself. But he realized he might be mistaken. Even if she had come to a club at this hour, Alexander would have been informed first. Yet Alexander’s reaction suggested otherwise."Who was with her?" Alexander’s cold, intense eyes fixed on Peter, warning him not to say something displeasing, as if his very life depended on it."I think it was
Alexander sighed and walked out onto the balcony. He needed a moment to clear his head. Lighting a cigarette, he tried to process his thoughts. The moment Rose stepped outside, she became a target. For eight years, those waiting for a chance to strike have been like predators. Rose’s presence had stirred them once more, and they were closing in. Although Alexander wasn’t afraid of these threats, he worried for her safety. Rose had a way of diving headfirst into danger without always considering the risks. Each reckless move she made seemed to draw those lurking even closer, and Alexander knew he would be tied up with his own missions this year, not being around her for 24 hours. Balancing his duties with ensuring her safety was becoming increasingly challenging since the girl was not someone who would be obedient, and the fear of not being able to protect her weighed heavily on him.Ten years ago, he saw her as a responsibility. Now, it is different. Just the thought of her being har
“Lock them in the dungeon for a day. Give them no food or water.”Alexander Ariston did it again. Horror filled everyone’s eyes.Jane and Logan, who had thought the man was being lenient since his princess forced the issue, were surprised. This man never failed to shock them repeatedly.“Uncle,” Logan cried out pitifully. Even though his uncle hadn't tortured them directly, the dungeon was a place he dreaded—one where his uncle inflicted unspeakable horrors on all kinds of enemies. It was a grim location where he showed no mercy.Alexander took perverse satisfaction in capturing his enemies and torturing them on his turf, reveling in the fear he instilled before their eventual demise. It was his way of demonstrating dominance.“Bro, let them go for once. Consider it a special occasion,” Jason, who knew it was Rose’s birthday, pleaded. “Forgive them just this once.”“No way,” Alexander replied firmly. “If I keep giving them chances, they’ll just spoil my little Rose.”He was resolute w
Alexander handed Rose the glass of water, knelt before her, and slowly untied her shoelaces. The great Alexander Ariston, the pride of the North country and warrior god, kneeled before a little girl to untie her shoes."Holy shit," someone exclaimed. The excited audience, who had come to enjoy the show, silently seethed with envy, jealousy, and disappointment. They had expected Alexander Ariston to scold his princess, but they were daydreaming; she completely charmed the man from head to toe. Even Jason Henson, who had entered, hissed at them. He was thankful Alexander Ariston hadn’t boxed up his sister, but even he was surprised.Ariston could have completely ignored Rose’s action, even though he already knew the mess his precious princess had caused, including her altercation with Dawson.Rose grinned ear to ear as she looked at the familiar faces. She and these people had never gotten along because whenever they were around, they clashed with her, taunting and troubling her when h
The security system detected a significant threat, triggering a black alert. Suddenly, a spotlight illuminated them, momentarily blinding everyone."We messed up," Logan yelled from behind as he assessed the situation. He knew nothing good could come of this girl's scheme. "Oh my god, did we get caught?" Jane panicked, while Rose, outwardly calm, felt a storm of worry inside. She believed she had tampered with the system before leaving.Their eyes fell on a figure at the mansion's back entrance, standing in darkness yet commanding attention. "I'm dead," Logan muttered, recognizing his uncle."I thought my little Rose was peacefully sleeping inside. What is my little Rose doing outside at this hour?" The man's commanding voice cut through their fear.Suddenly, Rose, who had caused so much trouble alone, became timid. To save herself, she exclaimed, "Uncle!" Rose, the little betrayer, ran excitedly toward the figure hidden in the shadows.Ignoring the world, Rose jumped on the person, b
On the other side, Peter went to the security room and pulled out the footage. His hand felt cold as he saw these two brats enter the room, and after a few minutes, the bodyguards who were waiting outside the room entered and there was the sound of breaking things and screams.“God, see I am not wrong, it’s them.” Peter pointed at the screen and shouted.“Move.” Matthew pushed Peter away and sat before the monitor, running his fingers over the keyboard.“What is he doing?” Peter asked.“Deleting the footage,” Michael said, knowing Matthew was making the right call. They couldn’t risk anyone discovering the involvement of Rose and Jane.Peter stayed silent and let Matthew and Michael handle everything. After a few minutes, Matthew nodded. “Give them this.” He cleared everything and left with Michael. When Peter emerged, he saw Aaron and finally understood why people said enemies were bound to cross paths. He never liked Aaron, but this was a secret shared among their ranks; Aaron was m
