Downstairs

“I can't bear to see you and that bastard downstairs. I want to knock him unconscious. Even now, I can still smell him on you, and it makes me sick!” He growled.

Nana shouted. She twisted in Eric's arms until she released her arms. She put her hand on his and squeezed. "I didn't want to," she sobbed. “But…you were…you were so hard to understand! A minute ago, I thought…you must feel something. You must care! But then… Eric, you're horrible. You are cruel and you…you broke my heart.”

Eric hugged her as she sobbed in his arms, and he never wished he could let go this much. He wished he could take it all out. He wants to cry. He could feel tears welling up in his throat. Everything hurt, his heart, his throat, even his eyes even though he kept them closed. His arms ached from putting all his strength into holding Nana, but he couldn't express his feelings. He had trained himself for too long, and unlike his duties with Nana, he had trained himself too well.
