I'm not alone

Nana's face contorted and she seemed to burst into tears. She wrapped her arms around Eric's neck, squeezing him with all her might, “Oh my God! Oh Eric. I'm so sorry for calling you that. I am very sorry.”

Eric's emotions were scattered everywhere. He didn't want her pity. He never wanted to be pitied. However, he still seemed to need Nana's arms. He wasn't in the mood to push her away.

“I am not alone. There were six of us in all,” Eric said. He hugged Nana to his chest. “I don't remember being sold. There wasn't an auction or anything. I think I was delivered in a box. To this day, I still can't stand tight spaces - or boats - I hate boats."

“A lot of things…,” Eric said with difficulty, “have happened to me. Narweh likes to beat me up…among other things.” Eric felt Nana's arms tighten around him.
