“Enough of your drama!” His voice roared in the small room, scaring the guts out of her. An outraged nerve popped on his temple as he hurriedly approached her. She felt her breaths quickening and in no time her eyes widened in horror.

“Aah, please leave me… it’s paining, Mr Adams!” Kia winced when Viaan held her arms in the tightest grip and yanked her to himself. His teeth sitting equally on to one another, clearly showing how much he was controlling his rage right now with those clenched jaws.

“Leave you? Did you leave the chance when I practically begged you to pull me out of this mess?” He twisted her petite arms painfully, not paying any heed to her cries. Those burning eyes pinning her down to his mercy. But no escape now.

“I’m so-sorry, I tried—” she whimpered more as she apologized,

“Shut up… I very well saw what your attempt was. All you were waiting for was the wedding to get done quickly. It was written all over your face,” He seethed near her ear, exerting more pressure on her twisted hands, “So, don’t even think of fooling me,” the dangerous tone shivered her badly. She bit her lower wobbly lip, shaking her head in no, denying the accusation. Her eyes were closed on their own.

A trail of fresh years escaped her already wet eyelashes; she squinted her closed eyes enduring the physical pain. Another painful sob came out of her mouth before Viaan rudely pushed her away, leaving her hands free. Her fair skin was all bruised from his torments. She opened her eyes and held the hand with the other, impatiently rubbing the sore area.

“Listen to me, Miss Kia, and listen for good,” He hissed, making her eyes shift to him and take in his angry form. “I’m stuck in all this because of you, now you’ll pay for your deed.” Viaan threatened her, pointing with his index finger. His face screamed rage; those red eyes scared her more.

“I didn’t do anything… please…” pleaded Kia, wiping the traces of tears from her cheeks. Her strained voice was evidence that she hadn’t stopped crying for the past few hours. Viaan clenched his jaws.

“This is what you should have told your parents, but you looked at the fortune… Now, I don’t care what you did or not. You trapped me in this, I’ll take you out to deadened,” he promised through his gritted teeth, glaring hard at Kia. If deadly looks could kill someone, Kia would have died a painful death by now of the intensity of rage in his eyes.

She opened her mouth to say something but before that, they heard the creaking sound of the door opening and with that, her parents came inside. The elderly couple looked at Viaan & Kia and pursed their lips in displeasure or better — hatred.

Clearing his throat for the announcement, her father’s words drew their attention, “You have already brought enough shame to our family. The whole village is cursing us. Though we already did the right thing getting you two married, do us a favor and leave from here. From today we have no relation with you, Kia. You are dead for us.” His harsh words felt like a stinging slap on her face; Kia cried harder. This was not what she had expected from her own parents.

She strode towards her father and tried to hold his hand only to get her hands jerked off immediately. Muffling her cries in her throat, she hiccuped, “Papa, please trust me, I didn’t do anything… please don’t send me away… please, Papa.” Her voice shook while she pleaded. She looked at her mother for help when her father looked away in disgust, but all in vain as her mother was looking at her with the same hateful eyes.

All miseries for just one help!

How cruelly her humanity has paid off!

All her hopes died in a second. She was about to say something but they walked out of the room the very next moment. Before she could follow them, the room echoed with sudden laughter. Viaan clapped his hands laughing bitterly.

“What an act, girl, I’m impressed!” His words came out as a mockery of the situation. He glared at Kia, ceasing his laughter and gritted in anger, “But, let me tell you one thing, you have done the most wrong thing by marrying me. The fortune you wish to get by forcing me into this marriage will never be yours. I’ll definitely take you away from here but only to let you get lost in your life.” He spat venomously. “Like you left no way out of this for me, I will also leave no way out for you. So, get your bags, Miss Kia, it’s time to leave!” Viaan glared at her with utter disgust in his eyes.

His features screamed revenge. Revenge for the mishap he just went through in the form of an unwanted marriage. He was forced to get married to her, but now he will punish everyone by leaving their daughter to suffer to death. That would be the correct punishment for them. Viaan was determined.

Kia cried harder at her fate, knowing she had no option but to go with him. She knew her parents won’t keep her in the house anymore especially when the whole village witnessed her wedding with Viaan just an hour ago. And they won’t let Viaan go without her too. This was the only option left… she thought… she mourned.

Viaan walked out of the room with a stoic face. His six feet two demeanor was stern enough to make people lower their eyes in front of him. Keeping his face stern at her parents who he found standing in the hall, he announced his departure,

“I’m going but I’ll make sure you all pay for what you forced me into.” His stern voice reverberated in the hall as he threw some acidic glares at her parents who were giving it back equally.

Putting on his aviators, he signed his two bodyguards to start the car as he stepped out of the house. They nodded, getting inside the car after him as the engine of his SUV came to life they saw Kia coming out of the house carrying a large-sized blue trolley bag and a backpack on her shoulders.

“Help her, Mark,” Viaan ordered, menacingly, averting his gaze from her.

One of the bodyguards came out and helped Kia, keeping her luggage in the car’s trunk.

“Thank you!” She mumbled softly when he opened the door for her to get inside the car.

Viaan was already sitting beside her, so she scooted to the farthest possible inch of the seat.

“Let’s get the lady here to her destiny, Leo!” Viaan taunted, signaling Leo, his bodyguard who was in the driving seat, to start driving.

Only if he knew what that lady’s destiny has in store for her and why the same destiny is going to be so important for him too!

❁❁

A few good miles were covered in just two hours with the moderate speed of the car and the empty roads helped them more. It was just the next turn Leo was about to drive into when he heard his boss commanding him.

“Stop the car, Leo!” Viaan ordered. They had come very far from Kia’s place.

The breaks were pulled, ceasing the speed of the vehicle right in the middle of a deserted road. It was covered with a vast forest. With the sun going down the horizon and the dusky sky slowly rolling into the evening, the surroundings looked somewhat scary. Not even a single creature was in sight of at least three meters.

Wh…why did you stop?” Kia stuttered in a cracking voice as her eyes widened looking at the scary surroundings. She timidly looked at Viaan.

An unknown fear gripped her heart. Still, she somewhere knew what was going to happen next. Her fears were coming true! The dreadful moment was here!

“For exactly what you’re dreading, Miss Kia,” his tone laced with taunt scared Kia more. She slowly nodded a no, biting her lower lip. A sob threatened to escape her throat.

Seeing her eyes turning glassy, he shifted his gaze to Mark and gave a curt nod, signaling something. The latter got out of the car, heading to the trunk.

“Miss Kia, here ends our life-long togetherness,” Viaan taunted, referring to the wedding vows they had taken some hours ago, “And now I would appreciate your exit from my car and life. So, get out.” His tone turned acidic at last as he commanded.

“Mr Adams, where will I go in this deserted place? Please try to—” Kia pleaded frantically,

“I said get out of my car!” Viaan shouted at the girl, cutting his words off. She flinched at his tone and raged expressions. Tears made their way back to her eyes faster than she expected.

Seeing no hope of her pleas getting heard, Kia sniffled and wiped her cheeks before holding her backpack tightly.

Destiny had surely played her badly.

Viaan turned his face to the other side, looking out of the window.

“Sir, I have unloaded her luggage,” Mark informed him, coming by his side.

“Good,” he gave a curt nod again and smirked. He shifted to the middle of the seat and slid the window glass down.

“Goodbye, Miss Kia, I hope I never have to see your ugly face again in life.” Saying so, he signaled Mark to get inside and Leo to start driving while heartlessly closing the window glass.

Kia held the handle of her trolley tightly as she watched the car speeding away from her sight.

This was it. This was her fate. To be left to get lost in the middle of nowhere where any impending danger can end her life tonight. Though there was still enough sunlight to see clearly for some time, the vast forest scared her. The howls of wild animals returning to their habitat trembled her core. She shuddered more in fear when a sudden honking sound came from behind.

Who could it be in such a place?

Instinctively, she turned around, gulping the lump in her throat. Her hands clutched the metal handle of the trolley in a death grip. Sensing some danger, she prayed for her life all this while.

Soon her blurry eyes landed on an open roof jeep coming towards her. Forehead frowned, eyebrows pulled down in confusion.

She blinked a few times to clear her vision before focusing on the sight again.

The moment her mind registered the presence of some other human beings on that deserted road, she sighed in relief. Wishing to get some help, she was about to raise her hands but, the very next moment a realization knocked the leftover breaths in her. The jeep had four drunk young boys… laughing, drinking and smoking continuously. She didn’t need two guessing to understand that they were rich spoiled brats coming out from some party.

This was the last thing she wished to encounter on that already worst day of her life. The encounter with those drunk boys could be tormenting in the worst possible way.

Before she could think of any way to hide or protect herself, her bad luck came tumbling over — the boys had already spotted a lone girl on the very deserted road.

“Hey, what’s this lovely girl doing here?” The jeep slowed down and one of them questioned in a flirty tone.

Her mind went blank for a moment. She couldn’t see anything past the eyes of those boys who were shamelessly ogling her body. She didn’t miss the lustful twinkle in their eyes.

The engine went off and they whispered something to each other before letting out a sinister laugh. They set their gaze back on Kia, “Do you need some help, Baby doll?” Another one purred, slowly opening the door.

Her panicked eyes went to the opening door and then back on the boy, lustfully smirking at her. Her grip tightened on her trolley in fear.

“Run, Kia,” she mumbled, awakening her senses to run and protect herself.

But they say, when you have the worst luck following you, you fall in its clutches sooner than expected. Kia had the same fate that evening.

She took a step back, alerting the boys of her motion. The next second she just turned around and ran with all the energy in her.

“Shit… she is running, man, hurry up!” The boys howled and quickly jumped out of the jeep following her.

Kia didn’t turn around but the heavy steps she felt told her that they were not very far. The trolley fell from her hand and she spared a glance at it then at the boys before leaving it as it is and again running towards the jungle.

“Stop you, bitch, you can’t run away from us.” The boy running ahead of others warned Kia.

That was enough for Kia to lose her confidence, but the girl kept reminding herself about her life and protection, so she continued running only to collide with a wooden log in the way.

Kia yelped, “Aah,” Her feet twisted painfully, tumbling her to the ground.

The boys stopped a few feet away from her. A vicious smirk plastered on their faces. They laughed at her, seeing her wincing in pain.

“Oops, the Kitten has been caught. Where will you run now, baby?” Their lustful voice mocked her attempt.

Dread filled her nerves as she widened her eyes. She turned her head and saw them near her. She tried one more time to get up and run but both her ankles were painfully twisted.

“Tch… tch, Poor baby can’t get up? No worries, we’ll help you, baby doll!” Snarled one of the boys, coming forward.

She gasped and her eyes widened in horror… the boys were on her back.

Her head moving frantically in no… she tried once more to raise herself up but exactly then she felt someone’s hand on her waist and the very next moment she was off the ground.

Their laughter echoed in the jungle and the last thing it heard was Kia’s cries.

Nooooo,”

With steady feet, he stopped before her, “And about being on my own, then I can never be on my own, for my whole existence lies in you!” He smiled softly and knelt before her as she was sitting on the plush brown sofa in the hall. Viaan held her palms, kissed them, and pressed them to his eyes, feeling the warmth. Her eyes softened. A soft smile curved her lips at his actions and she caressed his head. However, soon she realized something and her eyebrows pulled down in slight annoyance, “All you know is sweet-talking. First, make me mad then shut me up with your saccharin words.” She complained, twisting her lips. A thin line of grimace back on her face. He couldn’t help but let out a hearty chuckle. Raising his head to face her, Viaan replied proudly, “But I never lie!” His words were followed by another kiss that he planted on the back of her palm. “Okay, enough of your sweet-talking. Now, tell me why you left without informing me. Do you even know how worried I was when I couldn

One can run away from the truth, but one can never escape the consequences that follow the chase. The scene in Adams’ Villa was the same right now. To say it shocked him would be an understatement for what could define Viaan’s current state. Her fearless eyes matched a straight gaze with that of his. “Had I known she was your mother, I would have refused to come with her.”“Oh, acting brave? It was 7:30 am when Leo, as per his boss’ order, was present in front of Viaan with the required information. Viaan, in his home office, was sitting stoically in reading the file. His eyes were scanning every single detail written on the pages. “Finance graduate from Eastview University.
