Viaan’s POV:-
*Flashback continued*
“You?” I asked, skeptical.
I hadn’t expected to come across someone like the person, standing on the threshold, while I was thinking of taking the help. I didn’t realize I was staring without blinking.
“Yes,”
My stupor broke hearing a meek voice in response.
“I—”
*Flashback ends*
“Sir,”
My thoughts were interrupted by Neil’s extremely alarmed voice. He was my personal assistant and I had allowed him to enter my cabin without knocking if there’s an emergency.
“Sir, there’s a fire outbreak in the London branch fifteen minutes ago!” He breathed fast as he informed me. The sweat beads on his forehead made it evident that the accident was a fatal one.
“Casualties?” I jerked up on my chair, trying to process the news.
“Alarming, Sir. I’m afraid you have to visit there personally!” He trailed off, gulping some air. His tone cleared the air for me that I had to take immediate action.
“Get my jet ready. And in the meantime connect me with Max.” I ordered Neil who exited the cabin in a flash, obeying me.
Max was the head of my London branch. I had personally tested his skills and talents while appointing him for the post as that branch is one of my major branches. Thus, this fire outbreak holds him accountable for my questions.
The intercom on my desk rang, which I expected was the transfer call from Neil.
“Hello!” I picked up the receiver,
“Good morning, Sir!” As expected Max’s voice reverberated from the other end.
“How did it happen, Max?” Ignoring all greetings, I asked directly.
“Sir, my apologies, but, I too have no clear information as everyone present inside the factory is severely injured. All I could have gathered till now is that some workers saw a spark in the machinery but before they could fix it, it blasted within seconds. However, I don’t know the exact reason, Sir.” He rambled breathlessly, somewhere apologetic for not having much information.
“How many workers were there in total?” My nerves throbbed near my temples. The more I was troubled, the more troubles were coming my way.
“Around 55-60, Sir! I’m looking after their quick medical help, Sir, I didn’t get time to check the attendances.” His tone was apologetic as he mumbled.
I could hear people crying, whimpering in pain, and a few noises of people probably from paramedics.
“Look after their treatment, Max, they must get the best and quick facilities at hospitals. I’m leaving in an hour and will be there by midnight. Till then keep me updated with every minor and major thing.” I exhaled deeply, imagining the scene there.
“Sure, sir!”
I disconnected the call and Neil entered at the same time, “Sir, the jet is ready to leave. Also, I have rescheduled all your urgent meetings stating the emergency till further notice.”
This is what I like most in Neil. He was intelligent enough to know how to act in an uncertain condition, that too, quickly.
I nodded and picked up the necessary things and my phone before heading out.
“Keep me updated about here! If my number is unreachable, call Mark or Leo.” I walked out with him and we entered my private elevator.
He nodded his head in affirmation and by the time we reached the parking area, Leo and Mark were already present there, waiting for me to join.
“Have a safe flight, Sir!” Neil wished me which I replied with a curt nod and got inside the car.
We hit the road within a minute and my mind diverted to the London branch. However, in the back of my mind, that girl was still roaming.
“Leo,” I called him and he already knew what I was calling him for.
He cleared his throat before looking at me through the center mirror as he drove the car swiftly. His shoulders slumped in defeat and I knew what was coming next.
“With what we come to know, Sir, no one has seen the girl after that night. No one knows where she went, but we have instructed our men to keep searching for her and inform me if they get any information about her.” His dejected tone was something that made me believe how much of a troublesome time I am going to have for the next few days.
Time to tackle this newest problem for now.

Writer’s POV:-
The night that followed Viaan’s entry into London seemed tougher than expected. He had planned to reach the hospital directly to see the workers, but the flight got delayed by three hours due to bad weather conditions and he reached London by four in the morning.
He already was getting stressed from the delay in reaching and on top of that the heavy snowstorm didn’t help his condition. He had to check into a hotel near the airport as all the transportation was blocked for the night.
“Sir, much to our relief, the workers have gained their consciousness.” Max escorted Viaan towards their ward.
“I need the cause of the accident, Max. Make sure you are up with that by the time I come to the office after meeting them.” He said sternly to Max who nodded frantically, gulping down his fear. Everyone was well aware of his short-tempered nature and his anger was something they never wanted to see.
The next morning had brought some good hopes for him as he visited the workers in hospitals and was greeted by the good news of their recovery. Though they were severely injured, none of them died much to his relief.
Meeting the medical team in their care, he announced that the whole expense of their treatment will be borne by the company and all the injured workers were given a paid leave of two months.
The whole paperwork with the police and answering the media took much more than required. A lot of things were messed up because of the accident and he had to extend his stay for two weeks until he brought things back on track.
Two weeks later:-
“Stop right there. Don’t you dare step inside, Viaan!” A lady’s angry words reverberated in the grand living hall of the mansion, stopping him right on the threshold of the main door. Viaan haltered his speed, muttering something under his breath.
One look at her and he knew how pissed off she was at him. Her anger was the last thing he wished to see right now. Though he was at fault, he can’t afford to get her mad at him for long. Her love filled eyes and warm smile were the only things he wanted to see after coming back home.
He grinned sheepishly and dropped his bag on the floor before holding his ears dramatically. An innocent look pulled on his face as he showed her puppy eyes, “I’m really sorry, please forgive me!” Tone rich in sweetness, he tried to pacify her.
Looking at his cute expressions, her anger was melting and a smile wanted to come out on her lips, but she got a grip on her emotions and looked at him furiously.
“Who am I to forgive you? You are on your own, no?” She taunted with a tight-lipped smile. Annoyance swimming in her eyes.
He shook his head negatively and despite the warning, he walked inside, for he knew she couldn’t get mad at him for a long time. He was her life after all.
“You are my everything, my whole world. How could you even say so?”
With steady feet, he stopped before her, “And about being on my own, then I can never be on my own, for my whole existence lies in you!” He smiled softly and knelt before her as she was sitting on the plush brown sofa in the hall. Viaan held her palms, kissed them, and pressed them to his eyes, feeling the warmth. Her eyes softened. A soft smile curved her lips at his actions and she caressed his head. However, soon she realized something and her eyebrows pulled down in slight annoyance, “All you know is sweet-talking. First, make me mad then shut me up with your saccharin words.” She complained, twisting her lips. A thin line of grimace back on her face. He couldn’t help but let out a hearty chuckle. Raising his head to face her, Viaan replied proudly, “But I never lie!” His words were followed by another kiss that he planted on the back of her palm. “Okay, enough of your sweet-talking. Now, tell me why you left without informing me. Do you even know how worried I was when I couldn
One can run away from the truth, but one can never escape the consequences that follow the chase. The scene in Adams’ Villa was the same right now. To say it shocked him would be an understatement for what could define Viaan’s current state. Not even a single word came out of his mouth other than the name ‘Kia’ when he saw a young woman approaching them. In an instant, Viaan recognized the girl for how could he forget her that easily!‘How is she here?’ The question bamboozled his mind, throwing him into a deep pool of confusion.A series of frowns appeared on his forehead. He watched the girl slowly step down the stairs.Whereas she had her eyes down while she descended the stairs, hence didn’t notice who all were present in the hall.“Why did you come down, my child? You’re still not prescribed to walk.” Leena’s concerned voice drew Viaan’s attention, and that’s when he noticed a thick white bandage on the girl’s right ankle and a pink crepe bandage on her left ankle. ‘How did she g
“Mind your language, Mr. Adams.” Kiara retaliated, masking her fear with courage. The word ‘Gold-digger’ had pricked her heart after all.“Why? Did the truth hurt? Aren’t you a gold digger?” Viaan taunted, raising an eyebrow. “If not, then how are you in my house, Miss Kia?”“Kiara… Kiara Jones. And you must not blame anyone without knowing anything, Mr. Adams. I didn’t come here on my own; your mother has brought me here.” She retorted. Her fearless eyes matched a straight gaze with that of his. “Had I known she was your mother, I would have refused to come with her.”“Oh, acting brave? I see.” Viaan made a surprised face, mocking her again. But in the next moment, his expression went stern, pulling a scary face. He grabbed her jaw and groaned, “I know what games you’re playing, bitch. So, I will ask only once, and don’t you dare lie. How did you reach my mother?” He grind the words asking the question while his angry eyes made her squirm under the accusatory glare.Kiara hissed at t
Viaan was silently looking at his mother for some quiet moments, deep in his thoughts, when Leena’s voice broke his stupor.“Where are you lost, Viaan?” She shook his shoulders.“Thinking about what you said,” Viaan replied, sighing audibly. “Let’s believe for a second that she had no one, still, we don’t bring someone straight to our house out of pity, Mom.” He took a pregnant pause, then tried to explain to his mother, “She is a complete stranger to us. How could you trust her so easily? What if she has some ulterior motive?” Viaan couldn’t believe how his mother didn’t doubt the girl.Leena looked at her son with a blank expression. She agrees with whatever he was trying to say, but she was no immature or stupid woman to put her trust in some burglar. Out of humanity, she had asked Kiara to be her guest until the latter was sick, for the girl had saved her life, risking her own.“I agree with you, son, but you think it yourself: why would a mere burglar or a scammer, as you are try
“This file has everything that we could find overnight, Sir!” Leo pointed to the file in Viaan’s hands. “Unfortunately, we couldn’t fetch much of her family information, as there was no one when we went to her former address.” His tone reflected disappointment as remembered his early morning rush to the village going in vain. It was 7:30 am when Leo, as per his boss’ order, was present in front of Viaan with the required information. Viaan, in his home office, was sitting stoically in reading the file. His eyes were scanning every single detail written on the pages. “Finance graduate from Eastview University. Turning 23 in a month.” Viaan read a few details aloud before his gaze fixated on a particular line. “For now, I can make use of this information, but find them at any cost, Leo.” Viaan creased his forehead, reading that line as if tried to remember something, while he spoke to his bodyguard. “I don’t want to risk anything. The nomination for the Businessman of the year award
Viaan and Leena turned their heads left, witnessing Kiara come towards them slowly. The man straightened himself since he was leaning over the sofa where Leena sat. An expression of pure displeasure covered his face when Kiara came just two meters away from him.“Please don’t mind his words, Kiara. He’s a bit protective towards me, and thus doesn’t take people in his circle of trust easily.” Leena glared at her son, embarrassed at his rude behavior towards her savior.“I understand, auntie. However, this is too much to take. Mr. Adams here thinks I’m here to scam, where in the first place I myself want to leave as soon as possible.” Kiara spoke softly, looking at Leena with sad eyes. “Though I’m helpless given these bandages, I’m trying to find accommodations soon.” She added while glancing at the bandages on her ankles.‘She should get an international award for her acting skills.’ Viaan scoffed at her internally, believing it all being Kiara’s acting.Meanwhile, the elderly lady had
They say when you want something with all your heart, the whole universe conspires to get you that. But it was just the opposite in Viaan’s case. The more he wanted to get rid of a beautiful mess called Kiara Jones, the more the universe conspired to keep her around. From the fateful night which took him to knock on her door, to him leaving her in the middle of a jungle. He was certain he had sorted the issue out at that very moment. However, it was as true as a chameleon’s color. Little did he know that one night would cost him more fruitful days. And today was one of many!Viaan’s sudden shrieking caught everyone off guard; they looked at him with weird eyes. The man of the moment came out of his shocked state and cleared his throat to hide the self-called embarrassment, realizing what he had done. He dared not to look at the two elders sitting in the living hall, but his eyes couldn’t let go of the figure of certain someone.‘Damn you, Kiara Jones!’ He fumed in his head as he saw t
She hated Viaan for pushing her into the arms of danger, but that doesn’t mean she will hurt the lady who showered love on her for the past two weeks. Her heart pinched thinking how hurt this kind lady will be when she will know the truth. No! She has no right to break her trust. It was Viaan’s problem how he would handle his mother and tell her the truth. Because even if he threw her out of his house, threatening to harm those children, she will still be his legally wedded wife. Thus, he had to let the cat out sooner or later. With a thought of not lying to her completely, at least, and to leave the place sooner, Kiara told her a less important but true reason.“No, Auntie. Mr. Adams’s behavior had nothing to do with my decisions. Actually, I need to sort out an issue related to my ancestral property by next month, and I need money for that.” Kiara said, licking her lips. “And this is what Mr. Adams heard but took it otherwise when I was asking my friend to help me find a job.” Her t
Writer’s POV:-Mr. Moore wiped the sweat off his forehead while waiting for the call to be received.“Hello!” The reply came as soon as the call was received.“I have done my work. Now give me my thing back!” He said over the call.“I am impressed with your quickness, Mr. Moore.” a masculine heavy voice was heard from the other side. “I thought you would still take a few more days. But no. You proved why this is priceless to you. Excellent, old man.” With a dark chuckle, the man added. The words were more like a mocking of Mr. Moore’s efforts, and that made the elderly man clench his fingers.Mr. Moore’s entire body shook with rage. At that moment, he wanted nothing but to thrash everything around. To get the man in a chokehold and punch him straight across the face for making him dance on his fingers. However, the helplessness of the situation had him holding from behind. He can’t act repulsive. Not at this stage when he is so close to the one thing that he has been finding for sever
Viaan’s POV:-I helped Maa get down from the car, supporting her gently as she stepped onto the gravel path. As soon as her eyes fell on the scene in front of us, she froze. Her fingers tightened around my palm, clutching mine with a grip that spoke volumes.“Viaan, this…” She began, her voice trailing off as disbelief washed over her.Not believing what she saw, she was struggling to find the right set of words. Her lips wobbled putting an impromptu pause. She looked back at me, her gaze searching for confirmation, her body trembling slightly. That was my cue to confirm her doubts. With pride and emotions lacing my own voice, I squeezed her shoulders and nodded. “Paradis d’Amour, Maa. Our dream.” I announced, taking my mother in a half hug from sideways, holding onto her as tightly as I could. She averted her gaze back to the property. With a dip in her brows, she looked at me once again, “Huh?”I knew, I knew she was getting the meaning of my words but the yearning self of hers want
Writer’s POV:-“Where are you taking us, Viaan? At least tell me now.” Leena asked for the nth time, getting annoyed at her son’s silence over the matter.Viaan, like the previous times, smiled mischievously and answered without looking back. “Patience, Maa, patience. You’ll come to know soon.”Leena scoffed audibly, narrowing her eyes at her son’s mischief, and scolded him lightly. “That ‘soon’ of yours has not come since the last three and a half hours of our journey. How long more would you keep it a secret?” Her eyes wrinkled at the corners while her nose flared in annoyance. Her anger didn’t seem to affect Viaan a bit as the man chuckled loudly. “As I said, it is a surprise, Maa. I’m not telling you to spoil the fun already.” He refused to reveal, making his mother smack his arms from the backseat.“You have become too naughty these days.” She said through her gritted teeth, only to get a burst of hearty laughter from her son.Huffing, she crossed her hands across her chest and s
Writer’s POV:-“Thank you so much, Guys.” An emotional Viaan expressed his gratitude to the two of the constant pillars of his life.Receiving brotherly pats on his back as a response, he reluctantly broke the hug. His dull face was uplifted with the pure essence of their support throughout his life.“You —” Ryan started to speak, but then his eyes narrowed as he studied Viaan’s features more closely. “Were you crying, Viaan?” His eyes scanned Viaan’s face with concern. On cue, Leo also took a closer look. “Yeah, you look off!” He exclaimed, pointing out the obvious signs of distress.Viaan stilled. His smile dropped into a thin line. Immediately, he averted his eyes away from them and looked everywhere around. How come Ryan observed that? His shoulders tensed once again.“No. Why would I cry?” He chuckled nervously shrugging his shoulders, not wanting them to read his face further.“Then why are your eyes red and moist?” Ryan scoffed, narrowing his eyes. “Don’t lie through your teeth
Back in the present time, The PenthouseViaan’s POV, :Looking at the keys, I fisted them tightly. I was in my penthouse where I had come just an hour ago to get freshened up. Last night, I had to lie to Kia and Maa as I had spent entire hours in planning for the surprise for Maa. Then this morning the leftover documentation took my time while I also went to check for last-minute preparations. I just happened to come here one hour ago as I can’t go directly to home. And as soon as I came here, the first thing I did was to call Maa. She deserves the surprise the most. All through this while, I also kept myself reassured that this was not a dream anymore but a reality.A beautiful reality.A certain kind of peace filled my heart. I felt the cores of my eyes moistening up. Our dream was finally completed.“Paradis d’Amour is finally ours, Papa. I completed your and Maa’s dreams.” My voice choked with emotions as I looked at the picture frame on my desk while placing the keys reverently b
Writer’s POV:-“Did Viaan tell when will he come?” Leena asked Kiara who was serving her breakfast. Her hands stopped in the air and she raised her head to her mother-in-law. “No, Maa. He had just dropped the text last night that he wouldn’t be coming home tonight as he had an urgent meeting and some important work. So, he is perhaps staying at the penthouse itself.” Kiara sighed, continuing to fill Leena’s plate.Leena nodded recalling the text Kiara showed her last night. Viaan had specifically mentioned to tell Leena about it, he himself didn’t text her thinking she must be asleep by then.It was around eleven in the morning. Both the ladies were having a late breakfast today, as Kiara was nauseous and not feeling good this morning; thus she had delayed her meal.Although Leena had something light earlier as she had to have medicines as well, she still joined Kiara in the late meal.It was Leena’s assistance that she was even eating, lest she was all ready to ditch the breakfast to
Writer’s POV:-“And the man said that Mr. Adams is ready to meet at the earliest possible date,” Daniel revealed, sounding serious and firm.Hunter sat straight with a jerk, his brows dipping in. “How come he agreed this early? Didn’t he and his lawyer want time?” The question triggered his mind, he inquired in a disbelieving tone. The frown went deeper on his face; his eyeballs moving constantly as he tried to figure out Viaan’s step. One thing was crystal clear neither Viaan nor his lawyer saw this proposal as a simple invitation to get rid of legal troubles. Hence it was very much acceptable for his rival to seek time to agree or even deny. That’s why, even when this frustrated Hunter, he was ready for any secret investigation Viaan did on him. But little did he expect, that his acceptance would come this early and fast.He heard Daniel huffing from the other end and came out of his thoughts. “I have no idea, Sir. But if they are ready then why not proceed? This was the plan after
Writer’s POV:-“Kia, calm down. Ryan said that he won’t reveal anything to Viaan.” Sophie tried to calm her down, but the girl was far from calming down.A ready havoc was created in her mind and heart and she had no idea how to deal with it.“But he didn’t even give me any time, Soph. All he allowed me is tonight.” Kiara retorted, holding her breath in apprehension. She can hear her heart pounding in her ears, and sweat beads adorning her temples even after the decreased temperature of AC.Her words followed a silence before Sophie sighed audibly. “You have taken more than you should, Kia. You can’t avoid it any longer. Dr. Ryan was right when he said the more delay you are making the harder it would be to make Viaan understand.” Sophie indirectly quoted Ryan’s words from the last evening.“Out of all people, you should be understanding my dilemma, Soph.” Kiara clicked her tongue, getting annoyed at not finding any solution. “I didn’t wait for Tyler to just wake up, but I needed to k
Writer’s POV:-“Not only this but also the fact that Aaron is Tyler and Sophie’s son!” Ryan’s voice was steady, but there was a hint of solemnity in his tone.As Ryan dropped the bombshell, Kiara and Sophie froze, their eyes widening in shock. The words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of the revelation.A revelation that Kiara least expected today. The room fell into a stunned silence. The only thing audible at that moment was the ticking of the clock and the lazy evening wind coming through the open windows of Ryan’s cabin. With a composed face, Ryan watched the two women in front of him, trying hard to digest the truth he just disclosed. He knew this was going to be their reaction once her tells them the truth, but still watching them doing so, made him amused.Did they really think they would keep this massive truth away from him?Did they seriously think he wasn’t going to find it out, ever? He was a doctor, for God’s sake. It was impossible for this truth to be a secret fr
