Kristi was quietly gazing at the ceiling while lying on her bed. She recalled the discussion she had with the doctor.
"Baby?" Kristi was taken aback to learn of this information. "Yes! It's been a few weeks since you have been pregnant! Thus, Congratulations on your impending motherhood." The doctor informed, grinning broadly, "You ought to look after yourself right now. It appears that you haven't been eating properly which isn't good for your child. From now now, you'll not only be taking care of yourself but your coming child as well." "Uh... Y-Yeah..." gradually sitting up, she touched her belly gently. She was still shocked. The doctor handed her a piece of paper and suggested, "This is a list of self-care routines. Don't go without food and be sure you eat on time. Avoid putting undue strain or stress on yourself. It's harmful to the unborn child." She took the paper with her and nodded her head politely. She was still in disbelief about what had occurred. Touching her belly, she lay down on her bed. In addition to having no one with whom she could discuss about it, she also didn't seem to care all that much about sharing her stuff. The only one who could she rely was she-herself. "I have a child of a stranger?" she mumbled, carefully placing her hand on her belly. With a sincere and radiant smile, she uttered, "Well, that's what other people might say or think, but I have my only child, who had just entered into my life, on my belly." She giggled like a kid who finally was able to stand on its two feet, "Mhmm, mhmm, you know exactly what it is. It's a blessing that kindly entered my life. Aww, I'm so happy that I could literally fly over the sky right now. Should I try flying? No, no, let's be cautious and take care of myself. Taking care of myself means, taking care of my baby." At that moment, thoughts about abortion wasn't even near her mind. She was initially shocked, but as time passed and she got over her astonishment she became so overwhelmed with joy that there were no words to express it. She believed that at last there would be someone to be with her, someone she wouldn't have to worry about being duped since she believed her child wouldn't be like those trash people who're just concerned about money, lacking empathy like the animals. Her child gave her a wonderful cause to live again when she was just about given up on everything. It was like a new lease on life. She made a self-promise to herself that she would protect her child from evil people and never allow anyone to harm her child. "Your mommy will protect you just like your grandparents protected your mommy." She smiled warmly and lovingly touched her belly, "Baby! When are you going to come to your mama? I'm enthusiastic to meet you and talk to you about a variety of topics, including how I want to go bakery shop with you to have a delicious desert. Oh, I forgot the most important part, too. I would really like to play with you at the children's park. I want to share delicious ice-cream with you. I want to do more than just that, oh my god. You know what—" Laughing and talking to herself the entire night, she eventually fell asleep. She had finally had a peaceful night after all this time. A really peaceful night. Something similar occurred to Kristi: even in complete darkness, if all you can see is a faint ray of light, it gives you a hope to move forward and not give up. To her, it represented a whole new rising sunset in her life rather than merely a faint light. Her child was her blessings. Her starting point. She felt that her life had no purpose after learning about Rick and his genuine feelings for her, but it didn't mean she wanted to end it. It's just when you are so hurt, you feel so empty and lost. That's what had happened to Kristi but her unborn child gave her a new and beautiful reason to move on and start a new pleasant life. She had a sudden realization that when everything in her world was falling apart, her child gave her a whole new lease on life. She wanted to hold onto it till her last breath. She wanted to shout to the top of the world and spread her joy to everyone as she was so overjoyed. She received bliss and the most exquisite present on her worst day ever. In her heart, even though she didn't want to think about Rick or give a damn about what would happen to him after he was sent to prison, she was- somewhere deep in her heart was still worried about him and still remembered him. In the end, before he went away, he taught her an important lesson; don't trust anybody. One thing that can bring you both immense joy and immense suffering is love. It's only love. That's how twisted it is. She did both experienced simultaneously with the same individual. He gave her a great deal of happiness in the beginning, and then slowly but surely all she received was suffering. When she opened her well-maintained luggage, she discovered a necklace that Rick had given her on her eighteenth birthday. She was ecstatic at the moment when she received it. She felt anguish in her heart recalling those days. After taking it out, she closed the drawer. "I want to leave this country and ran as far away from this tormenting memories. I don't want this memories or my present, which will eventually become my child's past, to have any impact on my child. All I want to do is start over and put everything behind me." She packed up all of her clothing and vital documents, leaving everything behind—especially Rick's gift. She went to a foreign country leaving everything behind: her past, memories, suffering for the sake of her child and also for herself. It was the beginning of her fresh new life. ~After Five years~ Women in her 25 who looks average yet beautiful in a simple outfit, was standing at the school's gate waiting for someone with a broad grin: feeling incredibly ecstatic. Right after she noticed a little boy with a small bag on his back with a top blue t-shirt and yellow half box pants with white shoes, her heart was overwhelmingly filled with joy. Everyone gathered at the gate was drawn to him by his beautiful smile, his attractive yet endearing appearance, and his glittering blue eyes that glistened like an enormous sky. He was only about 4 years old, yet it was obvious enough for people to be envious of him. He appeared to be a model from a front magazine who could easily devour any well-known model or artist. Even though this young little angel was only a child, many walking by or waiting at the entrance stared at him in admiration, struck by how endearing he was. They literally wanted to kidnap him. The little boy gaze wonder around until it came to a halt on a beautiful woman. Right after spotting her, he grinned widely with a giggle. He exclaimed, "Mom," his voice was really cute and soft. Women in her 25 smiled heartily and gave him a tight yet gentle embrace filled with affection. "Feng! My little baby." Kristi, who had endured a great deal of suffering at the hands of Rick and her closest friends, was ecstatic at this point. All of it is due to this adorable little boy who adores her beyond all measure. She was just too delighted and blessed to have a son like him. She went from being a weak, lone woman to a strong, self-sufficient mother in those five years, forgetting all of the pain she endured and the people who had caused it to her, and moving on. It was all because of her son who became her strength and reason for her happiness. "Dear god, thank you for sending Feng into my life. Thanks a bunch. I can't even thank you enough, but I'm truly grateful.""Mom! Did you know I got full marks on my test today? The teacher kept praising me." Feng excitingly shared, feeling proud as he rubbed the edge of his nose by his chubby hand, "Aren't I beyond cool!? I mean, I can't help it. I'm just cool. What do I even say now!" He giggled inwardly. Kristi looked at her cute little son with content grin. "Ye—" but before she could say a word, Feng interrupted her while crossing his arm, above his chest. "I know! I know! I'm cool!! Enough of these and that. I'm not a kid anymore." "Puff!" She burst out into laughter, heartily. She nodded her head, agreeing with him, "Okay! Okay!" He giggled, "Hehehe!" He then saw an ice-cream cart on the way. "Mommmmmm!! Ice-cream!! He excitingly pointed out at the cart with a wide grin, his eyes sparkling and mouth drooling. She glanced at the ice-cream cart and inquired, " You wanna have a ice-Cream? But—" again, he interrupted her while clearing his throat. "Ahem!! Ahem!! Ice-Cream is bad for teeth, so I
Kristi was stunned by the unexpected action of Simon, who grabbed her hand out of the blue. "Head Chef? Wh—" He suddenly leaned closer which caused her gaze to widen. “Shhhh!! Come on. Follow me,” he whispered and took her outside. She was still pondering what was happening. After they walked outside, she was taken aback when she witnessed a cab there. “This…??” He nodded his head with a smile, “Go home. I will take care of the rest. Feng never sleeps without you, after all. More importantly, he might be worried about you.” “I know, but I can't just leave the work to you and go," she hesitantly glanced at him. Her voice quavered as she continued with concern, "You just came back after three days of being bedridden. I don't want to give you any trouble now." "Idiot!" he softly exclaimed, lightly tapping her forehead by his index finger. "You ought to look after yourself and Feng first. After that, everything comes last, whether it's me or work. Be at ease. I'm doing great," he
"It’s not like, I can hide anything from you, Head chef." Kristi gaze up at Simon with anxiousness. "You're indeed right. It's about Feng. He keeps being rude to Rina and that's why I scolded him at morning. I... I just don't want to cause any trouble to Rina or you who have showered me tremendous kindness, generosity and love that I have imagine in my whole life. That's why, I can't have Feng to cause trouble." He quietly gazed down at her then he approached his hand closer to her soft cheek, giving it a light pinch on both sides, startling her. "Why're you even trying to carry some unnecessary burden now. They're always like that. They both love teasing and competing with one another. We both know despite how Rina complains, she still loves it. So, don't think too much about it." She avoided his gaze, feeling downhearted, "You're still kind, Simon. You and Rina, you're both like my guardian angel." "G-Guardian angel?" He then suddenly burst into laughter, blushing with a wide g
The cold sweet took the place over Kristi's forehead, anxious thoughts taking over her mind, her lips trembling and entire body quavering in panic, while she felt as though the world was crumbling around her, her heart and soul nearly dropping from her body. Even breathing felt like a thousands of sharp-pinpointed knife piercing through her throat. “No, t-this is not... not true!" She stood on her trembling feet and took a step back while the fear and anxiety flooded her thoughts. "I- that's not tru—" Suddenly, she collided with an object, sensing a blend of firmness and gentleness as she made contact which froze her entire body since she was still in deep shock. “Kristi, What happened?” Upon hearing the gentle and concerned voice, she suddenly felt a tiny wave of calmness flooded in her mind. It was Simon. She absurdly turned to face him and gazed up at him who frowned upon witnessing her condition. He gently grasped both sides of her shoulders, inquiring with concern. “What happe
"Mom, are we going on a trip?" Feng inquired, jumping with excitement on his tiny feet. He held Kristi's hand gently and grinned, "Or is it museum? Are we going to see a huge dinosaur?" Without saying a word, panicked consumed in her heart, she continued to pack her and Feng's belongings. The only thing that was running wildly through her head wildly was the wealthy CEO, Leon Adler. 'Why? Why? Why is he here? How could he be here? No, no, Feng is mine. He's my child. I won't give him to anybody. He's my son.' Her heart was thumping against her body rapidly and she could barely breathe. "Mom," Feng gently caressed her cheek and inquired with a concerned in a low and soft voice, "Why're you crying?" She widen her gaze upon his inquiry and suddenly she realized the tears dripping down to floor from her chin which she was unaware of. "What? I'm... I'm not—" He gently embraced her firmly and caressed her head with those tiny and chubby hand, "Don't cry. Feng loves you the most. Feng
"Baby! Why don't you just trust me since you already know how much I love you?" The gorgeous man in a black shirt and pants exclaimed to the person seated next to him, "Kristi, believe me." He looked apprehensive. Kriti gave him a skeptical-looking stare and said, "How on earth do you expect that I will trust you, Rick?" He seemed to have a gloomy and dejected expression as he gazed at her. "Kristi! I beg you, just once. Please accompany me tonight when I meet up with my pals at the club. Believe me! They are absolutely great and will appreciate you as a sister-in-law, I can assure you." Even though he was assuring her, she couldn't bring herself to trust him. She heavily sighed, saying, "I've lost count of you always using the exact same phrase over and over. I hope you didn't forget that; you did nothing as they made several attempts to touch me. You simply lingered there, sipping drinks and interacting with some random women as if I didn't exist." She gritted her teeth. "How am
While Kristi glanced into the room from the bathroom, she noticed the doctor and wondered to herself, 'Doctor? What brings her here? ' She didn't made any noise, despite her confusion. After the doctor departed, she went looking for her shoes and found them next to the bed. She hurriedly put her shoes on and covered her face, hiding it entirely. Slowly opening the door, she peeked around to make sure no one was there. Fortunately, nobody was in the hallway. Swinging around swiftly, she fled as quickly as she could. From the moment she entered her room, she collapsed onto her bed and cried out in agony, "My back hurts. D*mn it! My body is in anguish throughout." She quietly stared at the ceiling in an effort to calm her mind, and she let out a worn-out and agonizing sigh. "I was with Rick last night. How did I get there? I must have gone with him otherwise how could I be at hotel by myself? He must had left earlier before I woke up. That explains the pills. If it's Rick, I'm sure noth
Kristi noticed two women approaching Rick. She was taken aback to see it was Lily and Silu. "Huh?" She wiped away the tears from her face and mumbled, "I thought Silu had told me she was at her sister's house? Even Lily said same stuff. How could they be here to meet none other than Rick? They claimed to know nothing, didn't they? Why didn't they say anything if they were about to meet him? Why did they lied to me?" She was approaching them swiftly, but as soon as she overheard their conversation, her step faltered. "Hey Rick! Why didn't you give Kristi a call? She's getting into my nerve. It frustrate me excessively." Silu grumbled, finding it bothersome. With a backward eye roll, Lily remarked, "Yeah Rick! I'm relieved that she is unaware of what happened that evening, by the way." Rick smirked and blew out a lungful of smokes, asserting, "Obviously. That drug is quite unique. After taking it, you are unable to recall anything at all. Isn't that wonderful? If you ever want it

"Leave right away, unless you don't want your slap return right back at you!" Rick let go of his hold on Kristi's hair and issued a warning. She began to believe that the world itself was phony as she saw her lovers look at the period in question when she felt nothing but disdain and absence of affection. She believed that the only thing you will receive in the end is suffering if you decide to believe with all your heart. She was deceived by her close pals after being duped by her lover first. Given everything that had transpired, how could she ever have faith in anyone? How could she? Kristi questioned, her cheeks wet with tears, "Rick! Don't you give a damn about our long-lasting relationship, even after all these years? Does it not matter to you even a little bit?" "Huh? Are you F*cking Crazy?" scowled Rick.
