Chapter 5 ~Beginning of her new life~

Kristi was quietly gazing at the ceiling while lying on her bed. She recalled the discussion she had with the doctor.

"Baby?" Kristi was taken aback to learn of this information.

"Yes! It's been a few weeks since you have been pregnant! Thus, Congratulations on your impending motherhood." The doctor informed, grinning broadly, "You ought to look after yourself right now. It appears that you haven't been eating properly which isn't good for your child. From now now, you'll not only be taking care of yourself but your coming child as well."

"Uh... Y-Yeah..." gradually sitting up, she touched her belly gently. She was still shocked.

The doctor handed her a piece of paper and suggested, "This is a list of self-care routines. Don't go without food and be sure you eat on time. Avoid putting undue strain or stress on yourself. It's harmful to the unborn child."

She took the paper with her and nodded her head politely. She was still in disbelief about what had occurred. Touching her belly, she lay down on her bed. In addition to having no one with whom she could discuss about it, she also didn't seem to care all that much about sharing her stuff. The only one who could she rely was she-herself.

"I have a child of a stranger?" she mumbled, carefully placing her hand on her belly. With a sincere and radiant smile, she uttered, "Well, that's what other people might say or think, but I have my only child, who had just entered into my life, on my belly." She giggled like a kid who finally was able to stand on its two feet, "Mhmm, mhmm, you know exactly what it is. It's a blessing that kindly entered my life. Aww, I'm so happy that I could literally fly over the sky right now. Should I try flying? No, no, let's be cautious and take care of myself. Taking care of myself means, taking care of my baby."

At that moment, thoughts about abortion wasn't even near her mind. She was initially shocked, but as time passed and she got over her astonishment she became so overwhelmed with joy that there were no words to express it.

She believed that at last there would be someone to be with her, someone she wouldn't have to worry about being duped since she believed her child wouldn't be like those trash people who're just concerned about money, lacking empathy like the animals.

Her child gave her a wonderful cause to live again when she was just about given up on everything. It was like a new lease on life. She made a self-promise to herself that she would protect her child from evil people and never allow anyone to harm her child.

"Your mommy will protect you just like your grandparents protected your mommy." She smiled warmly and lovingly touched her belly, "Baby! When are you going to come to your mama? I'm enthusiastic to meet you and talk to you about a variety of topics, including how I want to go bakery shop with you to have a delicious desert. Oh, I forgot the most important part, too. I would really like to play with you at the children's park. I want to share delicious ice-cream with you. I want to do more than just that, oh my god. You know what—" Laughing and talking to herself the entire night, she eventually fell asleep.

She had finally had a peaceful night after all this time. A really peaceful night.

Something similar occurred to Kristi: even in complete darkness, if all you can see is a faint ray of light, it gives you a hope to move forward and not give up. To her, it represented a whole new rising sunset in her life rather than merely a faint light. Her child was her blessings. Her starting point.

She felt that her life had no purpose after learning about Rick and his genuine feelings for her, but it didn't mean she wanted to end it.

It's just when you are so hurt, you feel so empty and lost. That's what had happened to Kristi but her unborn child gave her a new and beautiful reason to move on and start a new pleasant life. She had a sudden realization that when everything in her world was falling apart, her child gave her a whole new lease on life. She wanted to hold onto it till her last breath.

She wanted to shout to the top of the world and spread her joy to everyone as she was so overjoyed. She received bliss and the most exquisite present on her worst day ever.

In her heart, even though she didn't want to think about Rick or give a damn about what would happen to him after he was sent to prison, she was- somewhere deep in her heart was still worried about him and still remembered him. In the end, before he went away, he taught her an important lesson; don't trust anybody.

One thing that can bring you both immense joy and immense suffering is love. It's only love. That's how twisted it is. She did both experienced simultaneously with the same individual. He gave her a great deal of happiness in the beginning, and then slowly but surely all she received was suffering.

When she opened her well-maintained luggage, she discovered a necklace that Rick had given her on her eighteenth birthday. She was ecstatic at the moment when she received it. She felt anguish in her heart recalling those days. After taking it out, she closed the drawer.

"I want to leave this country and ran as far away from this tormenting memories. I don't want this memories or my present, which will eventually become my child's past, to have any impact on my child. All I want to do is start over and put everything behind me." She packed up all of her clothing and vital documents, leaving everything behind—especially Rick's gift.

She went to a foreign country leaving everything behind: her past, memories, suffering for the sake of her child and also for herself. It was the beginning of her fresh new life.

~After Five years~

Women in her 25 who looks average yet beautiful in a simple outfit, was standing at the school's gate waiting for someone with a broad grin: feeling incredibly ecstatic. Right after she noticed a little boy with a small bag on his back with a top blue t-shirt and yellow half box pants with white shoes, her heart was overwhelmingly filled with joy.

Everyone gathered at the gate was drawn to him by his beautiful smile, his attractive yet endearing appearance, and his glittering blue eyes that glistened like an enormous sky. He was only about 4 years old, yet it was obvious enough for people to be envious of him.

He appeared to be a model from a front magazine who could easily devour any well-known model or artist. Even though this young little angel was only a child, many walking by or waiting at the entrance stared at him in admiration, struck by how endearing he was.

They literally wanted to kidnap him.

The little boy gaze wonder around until it came to a halt on a beautiful woman. Right after spotting her, he grinned widely with a giggle. He exclaimed, "Mom," his voice was really cute and soft.

Women in her 25 smiled heartily and gave him a tight yet gentle embrace filled with affection. "Feng! My little baby."

Kristi, who had endured a great deal of suffering at the hands of Rick and her closest friends, was ecstatic at this point. All of it is due to this adorable little boy who adores her beyond all measure.

She was just too delighted and blessed to have a son like him.

She went from being a weak, lone woman to a strong, self-sufficient mother in those five years, forgetting all of the pain she endured and the people who had caused it to her, and moving on. It was all because of her son who became her strength and reason for her happiness.

"Dear god, thank you for sending Feng into my life. Thanks a bunch. I can't even thank you enough, but I'm truly grateful."
