Chapter 4 ~Baby? (shocking news)~

"Leave right away, unless you don't want your slap return right back at you!" Rick let go of his hold on Kristi's hair and issued a warning.

She began to believe that the world itself was phony as she saw her lovers look at the period in question when she felt nothing but disdain and absence of affection. She believed that the only thing you will receive in the end is suffering if you decide to believe with all your heart. She was deceived by her close pals after being duped by her lover first. Given everything that had transpired, how could she ever have faith in anyone? How could she?

Kristi questioned, her cheeks wet with tears, "Rick! Don't you give a damn about our long-lasting relationship, even after all these years? Does it not matter to you even a little bit?"

"Huh? Are you F*cking Crazy?" scowled Rick. "To me, it felt torturous. I mean, walking with you was like wretchedness. So, can you just stop talking and leave immediately."

Kristi tightened her grip and bite her lower lips, uttering, "Now, let me ask you one final question. Was I the only one whom you ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼 and... And—" Rick chuckled like a wild dog, not even waiting for her to finish her sentence. "Obviously not you little piece of dumb sh*t. I can't even recall the number of women who were there. Are you content right now? Anyways, enough with dumb question. You just leave this place right way. I feel indignation just by staring at your ugly face."

"So, was Lily and Silu were also on this stuff?" Kristi still asked questions despite his warning. She wanted to know the truth.

"Seriously this bitch!!" He scowled and yet answered her question. "Yeah, of course. Why the hell are you even asking? Just get out!!." He was pissed off.

Kristi clenched her hand and collapsed on the floor, overwhelmed. Her gaze flickered back to every moment she had spent with them, as if it had all only happened yesterday and everything was just a lie. There was nothing but empty space inside the cage that confined her. She was just living with herself, all alone.

She sighed with disappointment after taking a deep breath and hearing his unpleasant reality. She dried her tear and got to her feet quietly. "Oh well," she said with a detached smile, "I hope you people go to hell and die in horrible pain."

"What?" Just as Rick was going to hit her out of rage, the door unexpectedly opened with a loud "bang" from outside. He was too scared to turn to peek at the door. However, he ended up glancing back and he spotted the police. He was in disbelief. "How-What? Police?"

"You are all under arrest." The Police force came inside and arrest Rick, Lily, and Silu. Rick panicked and tried to explained himself, "Police officer! How could you arrest an innocent person? I haven't done anything wrong."

Lily and Silu were also screaming about being innocent and trying to free themselves from them. "Yes, police officer! How could you just arrest us! First of all, you need an evidence to arrest someone and how could you arrest someone innocent without any evidence? That's against the law."

"Innocent? Evidence?" Kristi scowled. Her pale complexion turned cold, unable to believe their fake acting which made her disgusted, "Seriously?"

"Of course! Without an evidence, Police has no rights to arrest innocent person like us," Rick responded, glaring at her.

"Ah! Is that so?" With a chilly voice, Kristi held up her phone to them and declared, "You see? I was on the call with the police officer since the moment I heard your conversation! You clearly know, the Police station is not too far from here."

"What?" Rick scowled.

"I will not forgive you for hurting my soul just because we have been together for more than five years. Keep in mind that my life is extremely valuable, and you almost destroyed it. Rick, I can't let you go like that. You understand why, don't you? Because my life belongs to my parents as well, who gave it to me in return for their own lives. Naturally, I won't let you go easily and let the lives of others to be destroyed as well. And that's it. Enjoy a pleasant and delightful life in prison."

Gritting his teeth, he cursed, "You f-cking b*tch!!!"

She pointed out, emotionless as she studied Rick's eyes filled with hatred, "I was giving you a chance. I really wanted to give you a chance. I wanted to believe in you but—" She then turns to face Silu and Lily, who were giving her a hateful glare, saying, "I never thought you guys could be like this. You guys were more than just pals to me. I used to consider all of you to be family, but— yeah!" She slightly smiled feeling pathetic, "I apologize for the inconvenience. I had no idea that you guys used to find it offensive when we would walk together." With no intention of meeting their phony gaze anymore, she turned back and bid them "Have a nice and wonderful day in the prison." Quietly, she left.

Kristi didn't give a damn about their cursing her for putting them in a trap and throwing them in jail. They ripped her into pieces; how could she even care? It was just her and the street. Her only thought was that you should never put your blind faith in anyone.

It's a deception, even if someone claimed they would always be by your side. That is absurd in the extreme, honestly. You are the only one person that sticks by your side till the moment you take your last breath. Both your birth and your death must occur in solitude. That is a natural law that you must abide by under all circumstances, even if you don't want to. You must take a position by yourself and defend your rights. Nobody will be outside waiting for you when you take a step forward. It's just you and only you.

Unfortunately, this world is a brutal place to live in. If you can learn to stand up for yourself regardless of any situation and fight for what you believe in, no matter who is against you; you can always win and carve out a space for yourself. Even if you lose, that's okay. It okay, as long a should keep believing in yourself. If not, you have no hope of succeeding. It's just, how it is and nobody can change it. You'll receive nothing but agony at the end.

Various thoughts kept popping into her head, but ultimately; she was unable to comfort her heart, which was exploding in agony. Not only had Rick broken her heart, but her soul as well. Not just Rick, but Silu and Lily as well. They broke and crushed her spirit.

She used to believe that having her closest friends and lover with her would be far enough, even in the absence of her parents. However, those significant individuals who held a special place in her heart crushed her heart and soul entirely. Now, she had nothing left to held precious.

She rolled over and went to the corner of her bed without turning on the light as soon as she got home. "So... I had a one-night stand with a stranger and that's also by my—" the word caught in her throat, causing ache all the way around. She turned and tossed in bed around twice, asking herself, "But- why can't I feel anything as a result of it or am I experiencing something but can't quite place it? Seriously? Did I develop a some kind of mental illness now?"

Puftt! "Sure enough," she laughed foolishly with all the anguish crushing her heart. Her lips was trembling. "There has to be a problem with me." She turned to face the corner, hugging her pillow close as she silently peered at the wall.

Her heart was hurting so much that tears exceptionally kept rolling down to her chin and cascaded down her cheek like a river bursting an obstacle. Her lips were quivering when she bit them. It was difficult for her to breathe because of the severe ache in her heart. Her breath seemed to be coming to an abrupt stop. She was all alone and lonely.

She felt like everything was over. Ever since they were in a relationship, she had always felt like; he will always be by her side but in the end, it was just her imagination and he betrayed her. Not just him but also her best friends.

She cried her heart out until she fell asleep. The sleep was the only way of her means to escape the reality.

It took her a week to heal enough to at least pull back the curtain of her room window. She strained to see the sun after a long time. That was the day she made the decision to attend her university in order to escape the pandemonium of her mind. However, could she? She was scared.

She took her time getting ready and shut the door. She felt quite weak on the way over. She gradually began to f*el so lightheaded on her way to university that she was hardly able to see the road in front of her. Everything was leisurely turning blurry. "Aww, what's happening?" She could barely let her voice out, "I guess, it's because I haven't been eating properly that I'm f*eling dizzy in my head. I'm f*e...ling... Really... Ti...red..." Her body could no longer hold herself and she collapsed on the spot. Her whole mind went blank at the moment and everything turned pitch black. At that moment, a thought crossed over her head, "So, that's how dark my life is?"

She leisurely opened her eyes and realized she was somewhere else. Panicked, she questioned glancing around, "Where am I?"

"You're in the hospital, Ma'am." A soft voice echoed in her ear which made her startled. "Hospital?" Kristi widen her eyes in shock and tried to get up hastily but was stopped by the doctor.

"Ma'am, exercise caution. What you need right now is, rest. It is detrimental to your baby." The woman with the white apron suggested with a concern.

"B-Baby?" She was extremely shocked to even split another word out of her lips.

"Yes, Ma'am," the doctor nodded with a sincere and joyful grin. "You will soon become a mother. Congratulations."
