Chapter 3 ~Betrayal and Slap~

Kristi noticed two women approaching Rick. She was taken aback to see it was Lily and Silu. "Huh?" She wiped away the tears from her face and mumbled, "I thought Silu had told me she was at her sister's house? Even Lily said same stuff. How could they be here to meet none other than Rick? They claimed to know nothing, didn't they? Why didn't they say anything if they were about to meet him? Why did they lied to me?" She was approaching them swiftly, but as soon as she overheard their conversation, her step faltered.

"Hey Rick! Why didn't you give Kristi a call? She's getting into my nerve. It frustrate me excessively." Silu grumbled, finding it bothersome.

With a backward eye roll, Lily remarked, "Yeah Rick! I'm relieved that she is unaware of what happened that evening, by the way."

Rick smirked and blew out a lungful of smokes, asserting, "Obviously. That drug is quite unique. After taking it, you are unable to recall anything at all. Isn't that wonderful? If you ever want it, let me know."

"What are they talking about?" scowled Kristi. She was unable to comprehend, or rather, her heart refused it.

Silu gave Rick a repulsive glance. "Rick, you are an anomaly! How on earth were you able to do this with your girlfriend? You sold her body for a one-night fling with a stranger for a million dollars, just for money? You're seriously something else to do with your girlfriend."

Rick chuckled somewhat and stated, "Silu, refrain from being ridiculous. You understand that I only just started dating her because she used to give me money anytime I needed it, but these days she doesn't. So that's how she'll compensate me.

"Huh?" Kristi was in disbelief and utter silence. Was this the Rick she knew, really? She clenched her fist, suppressing her raging fury. "Sold my body for a one-night stand with a stranger?"

She collapsed to her knees from shock. "It makes sense why I had discomfort throughout my entire body. So, so that was the situation?" Shaking her head in disbelief, she bit her shaking fingers in devastation.

It crushed her heart. Tears started streaming down her eyes. Her body was shaking, and her lips were trembling. She was unable to understand what was going on. How could the person she trusted most do something so repulsive to her? How?

"H-How could Rick do this to me? How, how could he? He did what? He—" Her voice trailed off and hit her throat. She was unable to split a single word. Her trust and emotions were shattered, and her tears streamed like a torrent from the walls of a dam. She always had faith in him, holding him near to her heart, and this was the result?

Betrayal was forgiven, but this—she wiped away her tears, made her decision, and walked in their direction. They were startled to see her approaching them more closely.

"Kristi? How?" Lily was stunned to see her.

Silu smiled slowly, trying to act natural, "Ahh, well, you see Kristi, it's not what you're thinking right now? We just met unknowing and—" Kristi disregarded them, concentrating only on Rick, who was still in disbelief upon seeing her.

With a carefree smile, Rick exclaimed, "Oh Baby! I miss you so much. I love you." He attempted to be all cutesy while denying that he had severely offended and broken her heart. "Where were you? I wanted to see you so badly. Look at my eyes, there is a dark circle. I—"

With a carefree smile, Rick exclaimed, "Oh Baby! I miss you so much. I love you." He attempted to be all cutesy while denying that she had severely offended and broken her heart. "Where did you go? I wanted to see you so badly. I'm staring at my eyes; notice the dark circle? I—"

Rick was hardly able to finish his sentence when Kristi, with a serene demeanor and lifeless eyes as cold as a the coldest months, interrupted. "When you took me to the club the last time, what had happened?"

He smiled as if he didn't understand what was she talking about. He approached closer, "Kristi! My love, why don't we—"

"Paaaa!" She slapped him firmly on the face, leaving a red bruise on his cheek. With a void of emotion, soulless expression on her face, she yelled, "Rick, I asked you a question. Give me a damn answer."

To see this side of her, Rick and the others were too astonished. It was impossible for passersby to avoid staring at them. He never would have imagined that the girl who is obsessed about him, Kristi, would smack him. For both Silu and Lily, it was the same. They couldn't express themselves.

In an attempt to contain his rage, Rick contrived a smile. Let's have a conversation inside for the time being, baby. This place is very crowded. Alright? Come on, let's go."

He led her into the Club and showed her the room he had reserved from the beginning. Kristi remained silent throughout. Lily and Silu yelled at her as soon as they entered the room.

"What the hell?" With a frustrated gesture, Silly put her hand on her forehead and yelled, "How could you hit on his face?"

Lily gave her a glare and gasped, "Don't you feel ashamed? How were you able to do that? Seriously, you're insane."

They were furious with Kristi for what she had done.

Though he was furious with her, Rick asked her carefully and with composure. "How could you hit me?"

Kristi's expression was vacant devoid of any sign of compassion, love, or understanding—just unfathomable hatred. "You're asking me how could I hit you after all you've done to me?" Even though her voice was shaking, ones could see the wrath in it. She clapped like a crazy lady and began to chuckle given that she felt utterly overwhelmed.

Even everyone around her started to feel like she had completely lost her mind.

"Tell me, Rick. What was the reason behind adding drugs to my drink?" Kristi asked, her expression stern. "Oh yeah! There is no need to lie. Just tell me the truth. That's the least I deserve to know."

The corner of his lip curved up, giving a creepy smile, realizing that she already knew and he no longer needed to hide. "Yeah, I did. So what?" He gave a noncommittal shrug, showing that he didn't care. "For a one-night fling, I sold your body and put the drug. I got a million bucks. You damn woman, that was all I had left to earn when you stopped sending me money! Is that inappropriate in any case? You are the wrong person for withholding money from me. You understand that, you petty bitch?"

"So, so, It's true. I wasn't mishearing?" Holding back her tears, Kristi clinched her hand in rage, seized his collar, and yelled, "So, that's why you gave me attention when you needed money and as soon as your work is done you ignored me? Rick, how could you have done this to me? After five years of dating, and then... and... You..." She lost control of the tear she had been holding in. Nobody in the room showed any concern or sympathy for her situation.

Devastated and utterly broken, she collapses onto her knee. "I trusted you so much; how could you have done that? How on earth were you able to do that to me? It was five years of dating for us, Rick. You know how much I loved you for five years—"

"Yeah, yeah! Five years." He stated flatly and inanely, "Our relationship year was so boring. You," he pointed right on her forehead, "To be with me is simply a blessing. Thus, just quit this F*cking nonsense. You weren't even worth looking at if it wasn't for the little money you gave it to me. It's you who is monotonous, disregarded, and ugly. Kriti, you're not even attractive to look at! Examine yourself first. Did you really believe you deserved me? Oh shittt!" Rick exclaimed, laughing uncontrollably and wearing a disgusted expression, "Wake up to reality and see yourself!!"

Lily, who had been fighting to contain her laughter burst into laughter. "Yes, I wouldn't have even bothered to look at her if it weren't for you, Rick. Right, Silu?"

"Yes, she's such a dull and uncool person," Silu said with a nod of her head. "She used to make me feel as though I was the object of insults. Her figure, looks, and sense of style are all poor just like her."

Lily gave off the impression that she was going to throw up. "Yeah, It was like an insult walking alongside with her."

Unable to accept anything, Kristi was in disbelief. For her, it resembled a nightmare. Her eyes were red and weeping as she stared at them, unable to believe what they had said. "So, when you were conversing or strolling with me, you used to feel insulted? I thought we were the best of friends, always there for one another, and—"

"Gah! best friends? Are you feeling under the weather?" Lily covers her mouth and scowls. "How could you say with that disgusting face?"

"Kristi! Awaken to the present moment. If all you have to offer is little worthless money, who would even want to be friends with you?" With a scourge expression on her face, Lily stated, "If you were wealthy, we would have considered being friends, but—nahhhh!! You are a destitute little bitch!"

"Lily! Silu! Put it out of your mind." With no mercy, Rick gave Kristi a firm grip on her hair and pointed out, "Well, I'll forgive you for slapping because of our so-called five-year relationship, which you cherish so much." Simply put, leave this place right away."
