Crystina's POVPaige bowed slightly as she walked past Luka. I watched his back disappear out of the door and my shoulder slumped. How do I already miss him so much when he just left the apartment a few seconds ago? His scent was still lingering in the air and I could still feel his kisses on my temple. My hormones were playing the cat and rat games with my emotions and I wasn't winning in any way."Miss him already?" Paige asked. I nodded. There was no reason to lie about that because it was so obvious that I do."Have you always been this clingy or it's the pregnancy driving you crazy?" I glared at her. She laughed and took a seat beside me. She picked up a magazine from the table, flipped through the pictures, clicked her tongue, and placed it back. She picked the remote next. It was the first time she would be coming here ever since I moved in and knowing Paige to be Paige, she'll always be comfortable around me."How come you're here? Did I miss one of our appointments?" I asked
Luka's POV"Sometimes I wished they were dead. I prayed I would wake up one morning and my parents were fucking DEAD," I stared at my best friend in disbelief. We've always had so many heart-to-heart talks, and serious conversations but he made it seem as if his mental health was perfect. Every day I bombarded him with complaints of my own not knowing he was going through stuff as well."I wouldn't ask you about what happened because even if you tell me I might not understand but I know your pain. Look at me, I had parents one day, and then, the next they were gone. So, trust me, I know your anger," "Your parents were cool when they were alive but mine, they don't give a care, Luka," he closed his eyes, already done with the conversation.I stood up, walked over to my desk, and gave my parent's picture which was in a small frame a glance. For real, my parents were the best people in my life when they were still alive. They weren't perfect but they loved me more than themselves. I us
Luka's POV "Luna Crystina is missing, Alpha," A loud resounding screech resonated in my ear. My feet stood rooted at the spot and I didn't move. My eyes were so wide they could run out of their sockets if I widen them by an inch. A cold sweat broke out on my forehead and for the first time in my life, I was terrified. Nothing made sense anymore, not the people around me, not the words being said, or even the atmosphere. I knew Baba was talking but at the same time, I couldn't hear what he was saying. It was almost as if that loud noise found its home in my ear and brain. Words failed me. I closed my eyes to take at the moment and when I finally opened them, my eyes landed on the warrior that was supposed to protect Crystina. I grabbed him by his collar and pulled him closer. That sort of got the attention of everyone on the ground floor. He swallowed hard as he couldn't stare at me. "Where is Crystina?" I demanded. I'd given him strict instructions to not let her out of his sight.
Luka's POVCharles stepped on the brake all of a sudden as soon as he heard that name. My hold on the phone tightened and a deep frown creased my face. My wolf began growling for dominance and it took everything in me to stop him from taking charge. I knew something was wrong, I knew this was coming.“Play it safe,' Charles advised through the mind link. 'Act ignorant,' he added. 'Just do it,' he growled when he noticed I was reluctant."Who are you?" I asked sharply and Charles gave me a thumbs up. I'm not that type of patient person. I knew who the fuck he was and I don't believe it's a coincidence that he's calling me on the same day that my mate went fucking missing. He's messing with me really bad. Draenei laughed. "I'm surprised you don't know me. I've left enough clues for you in your pack for you to know who I am and for the past few months, you've been searching for me, boy. So, stop playing that ignorant game and act smarter," I scoffed. "What the fuck do you want from me?
Luka's POV"What do you mean by hybrid baby?" I asked again. "Listen carefully, Alpha Luka. Your mother truly was a wolf was half wolf, half whatever her mother was. She wasn't a full wolf but her other mystical genes were recessive and I think you got it from her. When Draenei first attacked your pack, your mother was pregnant, he thought the baby was going to be the full hybrid child he wanted. When he realized it wasn't so, he killed her and that was why your father went to war with him even though he didn't plan it that way," "What does that have to do with Crystina?" I demanded. "Your mate is an Alpha, Luka. If you've never thought about it, you have to now. Since the wolves began living with humans centuries ago, there has been no record of a single pure Alpha wolf. That is, two alphas have never come together to have a child. Your mate is an Alpha and you're an Alpha too and unfortunately, your mother's other mystical genes are recessive in you but dominant in your unborn ch
Crystina's POVThe first time I opened my eyes to life after several hours of being unconscious, I thought I was blind. It took me a little while to realize the entire room was dark. I whimpered as I sat up from the floor. My entire body was aching, my throat was dry and it felt as if I was drenched in water but I soon realized it was sweat. I was soaked in my own sweat. The room reeked of dead animal stench and it was so suffocating I could barely breathe. My bones ached and I could feel it deep inside of me how weak I was. I was weak to my blood. I took a deep breath of contaminated air and sat straight. I heard some silent whimpering close to me and I looked to my side. I couldn't even smell who it was because the smell in the room has overpowered every scent that was supposed to be on me or this person. My brain couldn't process what was going on but the last thing I remembered was being shot at.My hand went to my neck and I could feel the stinging right where I had been shot. I
Crystina's POV"I want to make a bargain with you," I announced. Draenei cocked his head to the side and stared at me. The corner of his mouth lifted in an evil smirk as he took in my words. An eyebrow of his was lifted and he threw his head back before he burst into a fit of loud laughter. His voice echoed around the entire building and that made me realize it was most likely that we were in a prison or dungeon. "You want to make a bargain with me," He repeated.I snorted. "I’m afraid there was no water in my mouth when I said it," He scrunched his nose and moved closer. He crouched down to my level and scrutinized my face. Paige was holding on tightly to my hand as if stopping me from talking but I didn't care. Saving her life was my first priority."Aren't you brave? You want to make a bargain with a devil,"I smirked. "You're not the devil, you're not even close. Thinking you're the devil just because people call you that isn't really smart and I thought vampires are supposed t
Crystina's POV"What!" I whispered. It wasn't as if I wanted to not speak up or repeat that word, it was because I was too dumbfounded to have anything to say. He's been watching me since I was born. Who the hell does that? Why do I feel like there's more to this than just my pregnancy?"You're a psychopath," I spat. He had a deep smirk on his lips, his eyes glistening with moisture as if he was about to cry. His eyes were glued to mine and I refused to be intimidated by looking away. "That hurts, Crystina. I wasn't expecting you to be that crude, but that should've been partially expected since you're Luka's mate," I wanted to spit in his face and tell him to die or disappear from the surface of the earth but I never got the courage to do that. "What exactly do you want from me?" "Your pregnancy, must I have to say it repeatedly for you to get it?" He pointed to my stomach and unconsciously, my hand went up to hide my belly from his sight."That's a lie, Draenei. You've been wat
