Hazel's POV~

“Dammit” I muttered as I checked the bills in the mailbox. The weight of the bills was clearly weighing down on me. Kyla’s medical bills were like an endlessly high mountain, and every single time I thought that I had climbed to the top of it, I would end up seeing another peak! I was juggling three jobs, working from dawn till dusk; yet all this work seemed pointless; it was like trying to fill a bottomless pit. The more I earned, the more the bills grew.

I was starting to feel really tired of everything. Of course I was a strong woman but there was only so much I could bare. I stole a glance at Kyla who lay curled up on the couch with a pale complexion and slightly sunken features. Her delicate body that used to be so full of life had now lost its strength and had become weak. Of course I felt terrible seeing her that way but what could I do about it?
