CHAPTER 72:

Noah's POV~

I watched Hazel leave the room in tears. Her back was straight; her shoulders were rigid. I could not believe it. She had actually slapped me. I had never been hit by a woman before, not even by my mother. It felt strange; like a cold slap to my ego.

“You shouldn’t have done that,” said Liam in a calm but firm voice.

I looked at him with a glare in my gaze that was enough to make him know that I wasn't in the mood for his advice. “What did I do wrong?” I asked, “I only said that it wasn't right for her to leave the kids at home without supervision…”

Liam shook his head, “She is trying her best Noah. She is stressed and worried now. Right now, what she needs is for us to be there for her, not to judge her.”

I sighed. Liam was right as usual but it was hard for me to watch Hazel struggling so much, especially knowing that I could do a lot to help her. She just wasn't willing to open up to me.
