Why wasn't Chris willing to let her go?

He had said so himself, never to see each other again. Why was he trying to take her baby from her?

Or did he think bringing a baby into his new marriage was something to be proud of?

Kathryn felt more unsettled the more she thought about it.

She looked at Lloyd, eyes filled with tears. "What did you say?"

"I told him you are not with me, of course. But, you know how he is. He will eventually find this place."

Lloyd didn't say that to scare Kathryn.

Since Chris suspected Kathryn of being with Lloyd, finding out his whereabouts was a piece of cake.

As soon as he learned that Lloyd was in Brookside Town, he would make his way there.

The idea of losing her baby once Chris located her sent shivers down Kathryn's spine.

In this world, she had no one else to rely on. Chris, on the other hand, had a large family. It puzzled her why he was still determined to take her child away.

Her heart ached with torment as she contemplated the situation.
