After her first bite, Kathryn experienced a sense of contentment.

"Is it that good?" Chris asked.

"Absolutely. Would you like to taste it?"

Chris nodded. "Sure."

Kathryn cut a small piece of the pancake and gently blew on it to cool it down before feeding it to him.

Pancakes were a culinary delight Chris had never encountered during his time living with his mother, which explained his lack of familiarity with them.

Conversely, Kathryn had an obvious preference for carbohydrate-rich foods like pasta, freshly baked bread, and cakes. Her first attempt at cooking had been pasta, even though it didn't turn out well.

"Is it good?" Kathryn looked at Chris eagerly after she fed him.

Chris nodded. "Yeah. Not bad."

The cooks had prepared butter pancakes. They had a powerful aroma of butter.

"See? I told you they were good."

"Don't eat too much even if you're very fond of them, okay? It's quite late now," Chris reminded her.

"Okay. I'll only finish this portion."
