Staring at the small dot, Chris felt a new and different sensation in his heart.

Kathryn emerged from the ultrasound room half an hour later. Chris was standing outside.

Kathryn saw him and went to him. "If you're tied up, you can head to the company first. I will carry on by myself."

Chris glanced at his watch and said, "Let's go back together."

"But …"

"We don't need to do everything else."

"Huh?" Kathryn's face stiffened.

What was his point in saying not doing everything else? She had suggested skipping the checkup the night before. Yet, Chris was the one who emphasized how crucial it was to prioritize good health.

Now that the checkup had just begun, he was indicating that there was no need to carry on. What was the meaning of this?

"Let's go!"

Before Kathryn could figure it out, Chris had already turned and walked away.

As she looked at his back, Kathryn found the entire situation to be absurd.

She walked behind Chris, suppressing her frustration as she pouted.
