Not that he's a mere guard that I don't want him. I don't want anyone in my life, not even a man to be with!

So this mate thing is a horrible thing that exist right now!

But the coldness in his eyes feel so strange, it made me to evaluate my mind, and take back the words I've said. I gritted my teeth, and try so hard to push the feeling that dreaded me just by the thought of it.

I used countless years to hardened my heart, so this is despicable to let a mere coldness to swayed me. He is just a guard, and out there inside this Thousand Mountain lies more position and rank that left behind this mere guard!

But how can I not swayed when he easily agreed, and the coldness felt like a bitterness of the truth I just said. Is this guard placed here for punishment, that's why he agreed of it?

“No,” I thought just as the thought came in. “Dad even exaggerates of how the guards holds power under ordinary, under passerby, under intruder, so how can it be a punishment?”

I wonder if there's something more to it?

Before I can even swayed by this thought, the grandeur guard roared that pierce through the heart of the forest. His attention have been at the right side of the woods. There, the only thing can be seen is the glowing, blindedly of darkness.

Before he turned his back to approach that side, he said with coldness my heart skip to beat, “Go... And don't dare cause trouble as my mate, or better forget this matter to your grave, miss!”

I watched him disappeared through the darkest part of the forest, the woods. I realize I was shaken the whole time, came to mind what's he even mean. He let my intrude to slide, and ask me to scram?!

“He don't want a mate like myself!” I shook my head to the thought, and realize I'm shaken for the unbelieving.

“It's a good thing, so why I felt strange about it? This isn't me!”

I proceed cautiously, thinking this is some kind of trap. The land so wreck that it almost impossible for me to cross, and I wonder if the other guard is approaching right now because of it. But upon the hour that pass, there's no guard stop me, not even that grandeur of guard show up to execute me for looking down at him!

“So I'm really scram for good, huh?” I laugh bitterly, and strange by the disappointment in my heart. I wonder what's dad attachment in this place that he wanted me to experience it myself, but right now I thought I'm just expecting so much.

Not even the guard so good to be with!

“Mating bond is a sacred in this place, but I'm not here to praise it. I'll find my happiness through achieving grand position in the Moonless Pack, so mating connection isn't some grandeur than this!” This is my thought as I found the eerie silence surrounded the Moonless Pack.

Nevertheless, I shrugged and walked into the near pub. Here, there's no such thing as sun, but the night sky don't provide a moon. So my shock that people didn't flock all time in a pub is unimaginable!

“This Moonless people is unpredictable,” I I approach the place with that thought. “Perhaps they are like me, busy striving for a rank? It's possible!” This idea excites me. The more the opponent, the more the feeling of reaching the top is fulfilling!

I startled when the door burst open before I even reach it. The figure hurriedly out and grab me even before I hear the cry that pierce through everywhere!

Inside the pub, I was so shock I panted so hard. I glare to the black figure who grab me, yet the blue eyes look at me with too much worry. He barely said, “I hear... you are trying to cross that border again. How can you so stuborn, Willyeah!”

I blink and realize there's something wrong with this person. But the worry in the eyes is so true and sincere, and the shivering of the hands made it impossible to hold me. The black figure can only curse me.

“I told you to stop digging! Don't try to win their trust, and just search for another way to prove yourself, hm?” Atlast, the face o worry softened.

I am out of words, and can only open my mouth for a shock and confussion. This black figure is either man or woman, and his voice is indefinite. I can't figure out if just sick to mind or what, but the black figure is something.

With this thought, I smile softly. I said, “What way can you provide to prove myself then?”

The black figure is taken aback, but only a second the face lit up darkly. The voice of excitement reverbirated through the well-close pub as it said, “Very well! I'll prepare for you admission, Willyeah!”

I can only smile shyly and thought it's such a strange. Willyeah? I wonder if the person is so look like me that this black figure is thought we are one. However, I must have the admission it referred about before that very person is comeback and change mind!

I clear my through and smile shyly. “Can you make it faster, um, ma'am?”

“Before you change your mind!” The black figure flash and gentle smile and gone so fast to who-knows-where.

The more-likely abandon pub is eerie and so silent I can felt my heart beating so fast. There's more chance the black figure is sick in the mind, and here I am take advantage of that.

“As long as I do it right and no one will getting hurt, I think it's justify my action,” I murmured, and sigh the deepest. I sat comfortably after, yet my mind wander from time to time to the black door, and waiting while my heart panted to the black figure.

Dad once said how it's hard to admitted to the most pristigue of academy of shifters, however, a luck and fate is what compile the world of shifters. Despite that, it's good to not win over the soft side, and let your trickery be win and your scheme to show all the time.

Not long after, the indefinite voice shake the silent off and the pub to slightly tremble. The black figure appear and said so loud in excitement, “I got you admitted, Willyeah!”
