Chapter 25:

Brad POV:

The days always seem so long to me, watching after Leia is like a full time job. Even when she says she is okay I know she really isn't. You don't go through something like that and be completely fine. She spent a lot of time either running, training or sitting on the dock and I always wondered what she was thinking. The nights were longer, I barely slept. I'm not sure if she remembers what happened because she doesn't say anything at all and she doesn't wake up. Every night she screams and thrashes around in her bed, my dad and I always run in to hold her down until she stops while my mom cleans the sweat off her face but then the next day she doesn't say anything and we don't want to upset her so we just don't say anything. Lately she had been worried about our packs and what happened, I know Pythia said she would come back and I knew she would but with each day that she doesn't show Leia gets more worried and her nightmares get a lot worse. I didn't realize the bond the two of them had but it was nice that she had her. "Have you gone out to check on your sister?" My mom asked, pulling me out of my thoughts. "Not yet, I imagine she is exhausted from last night." I replied looking out of the window. "It seems to be getting worse." My mother said with sadness in her voice.

She was right, "I think it's because Pythia hasn't come back yet. I'll go and call Brandon and see if I can't get an update or something to help clear her head a little." I replied before kissing her cheek and walking out back. I pulled out my phone and clicked on Brandons name. "Hey man what's up?" Brandons voice came out after a few rings. "Not a lot, taking it day by day. How are things there?" I asked. "Alley is still recovering. I had to make Stephen sleep earlier this morning but everything seems to be going smoothly. We have a lot to clean up and rebuild." Brandon replied and I took a deep breath. So everyone was okay for the most part. "What happened to Alley?" I asked. "Oh man you should have seen her. It was scary and awesome at the same time. Her and Rose combined in to like a lycon but Bosch stabbed her twice in the abdomen before she killed him." Brandon replied and I felt my heart sink. "How is her recovery going?" I asked. "Slow, she won't use her elements or a lot of help from Rose. She said she wants to heal like everyone else." Brandon replied and I could hear the frustration in his voice and I couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah, that sounds a lot like her. She never held herself higher than anyone else. What about Pythia?" I asked. "Dude, she is mated to Tye! Can you believe that shit? Oh and Ambrosia you know the vampire queen which is hella scary at times but she is mated to Jackson." Brandon replied and I felt my mouth fall open. "No way. Are you serious?" I asked, not really believing it.

I heard him laugh on the other side. "Yeah shit is getting wild over here, I mean it's been so crazy but things are coming together really good. How is your sister?" Brandon asked. "Still having nightmares but they are getting worse." I sighed. "She still has no memory of it happening?" Brandon asked. "Not at all. She is really stressed out over who is injured and I'm hoping this will calm her a little. She's been waiting on Pythia to get here." I replied. "I can make that happen, I'm on my way over to her to check on her. Give me like thirty minutes and I'll tell her to go." Brandon replied. "That would be great, man thank you." I said. "It's not a problem, do you guys need anything? I can send something with her." Brandon replied. "I can't think of anything but thanks. If I do, I will let you know. I appreciate your help." I said. "No problem, I'll call here in a little while." Brandon replied before he hung up. I smiled and walked back inside. "Who were you talking to son?" My dad asked. "Oh I was talking to Brandon, he said they have been cleaning up and rebuilding everything and some surprising news." I replied sitting down on the couch. "Oh yeah? What's that?" My mom asked. "Tye and Jackson met their mates." I replied with a smile. "Oh that is great news, who did they mate with?" My dad asked, making me smile bigger. "Tye is mated to Pythia while Jackson is mated to Ambrosia." I replied.

Both my parents looked confused. "Who is Ambrosia? I don't think we have met her. Which pack is she from?" My mother asked. "Ah well, Ambrosia is the vampire queen." I replied. "Wait what? Are you serious?" My dad asked with wide eyes. "Deadly serious, we will see how all that plays out." I replied. "What of Alley?" My mom asked, sitting down next to me. "She was injured, Brandon said her and her wolf combined, becoming like a lycon but Bosch got two good stabs in her abdomen but she will be fine." I replied. "A lycon? Now that is truly rare." My dad whispered. "It is, but Brandon said he was going to check in on Pythia and Tye and talk to Pythia for me so hopefully she pays Leia a visit soon." I replied. "I need to call Bridget, see if she needs anything to help Alley." My mother said standing to her feet and practically running off. "I'd like to do something for that kid. He has done so much even now." My dad said, taking a deep breath. "He really has. We will think of something. Maybe we could invite him out here for a weekend, have a fire and drink." I replied. "I'm going to get water, want anything?" I asked over my shoulder. "No son I'm good, thank you." My dad replied.

While I was getting water I looked out of the window to see that Pythia was sitting on the dock next to Leia and I smiled to myself. Brandon made good on his word as he usually did, we really need to do something for the kid, he's been watching over Leia from a distance and it's something I could respect. "I think I am going to go for a run, I'll be back in just a little while." I said not to wait for his reply. I wanted to try to do something with Leia later. I just needed to figure out what, so while I run I'll be figuring out what I can possibly do to make her feel a little better......

        ***Leia POV***

I feel like I have been tossing and turning at night lately. I go to bed early but I feel so restless and I don't know why. I've been waking up with bruises randomly around my body, maybe I was sleep walking or something hell I don't know. I sat out on this dock everyday hoping Pythia would come and visit or I would somehow get an update on what is going on but nothing was happening. I refused to believe everyone had forgotten about me. "Hello darling." A familiar voice said. My head jerked up to see Pythia standing beside me and I jumped to my feet and hugged her tightly. I stepped back and looked her over, she had cuts and bruises on her body and my heart sank a little. "I am fine, don't you worry. Let's sit down and catch up shall we?" Pythia said with a smile. She smelled different. "She found her mate." Una whispered and I stared at Pythia shocked. "Ah where to begin, well first, we won the fight. It was tough and chaotic but we did it. A lot of injuries and destruction but we are fixing it all up." Pythia added with a small smile. "That's good that no one died but who got injured? Alley?" I asked. "Yes, she was hurt pretty badly but she will survive and be fine, I've made her some healing herbs and she is being watched carefully I promise." Pythia reassured me. "What happened to her?" I was not really sure if I wanted to hear the answer. "She was stabbed twice, in the abdomen but she become one with her wolf so it helped a little bit." Pythia replied gently.

I felt my heart completely sink. I should have been there, maybe there was something I could have done I don't know. I needed to call her and check on her for myself, maybe I just needed to hear her voice to reassure myself that she was alive and getting better. "You met your mate." I said, smiling at her. She looked at me confused and I laughed a little. "You smell different." I added. She laughed and nodded her head, "I did, it appears my mate is Tye." Pythia replied, surprising me. "Is that the one you talked about early on? You said he felt weird or something." I said. "Correct, since I do not have a wolf I didn't sense it and because we only saw each other through a shield it blocked a lot of it for him too but when we were close in the fight he knew and his wolf actually stood over me." Pythia laughed. "No he didn't!" I said busting out laughing. "Oh yes he did, I didn't realize it and called him a dog and then he barked at me which was the cutest thing ever." Pythia replied, laughing harder. I could picture the two of them, it was in a wolf's nature to protect their mate at all costs. "We have been busy cleaning everything up though, it was a hard fight I must admit but it was nice to see everyone work together. It's.... peaceful." Pythia added with a smile. "I'm so glad to hear everything worked out. I have been worried the last few days." I replied. "I know you have, but while I'm here I want you to think about something. It doesn't have to happen right away just when you are ready but I want you to think about joining the pack Tye and I will eventually create, be our lead warrior or something." Pythia said, taking me by surprise.

I wasn't even sure if I could do that since I am in another pack but it was something I could talk to my parents and brother about. "I'll think about it, that's very nice of you." I replied. "I don't like letting the people I care for a lot get too far from me." Pythia admitted and it made my heart swell. She genuinely cared for me like no one else has before. "I'll see what I can do." I replied with a smile. "How are you doing though? Any nightmares or anything?" Pythia asked. "Not that I know of. I haven't been sleeping all that well lately, like I'm tossing and turning. I feel more exhausted when I wake up." I replied honestly. "Alright, let me go back and get you something. I'll be back later tonight okay?" Pythia said. "Sounds good, we can host a dinner for you." I replied. "That sounds wonderful. See you later." Pythia said before she disappeared. I felt relieved knowing no one was dead but I wanted to call Alley and check in on her.........

        ** Brad POV**

My legs were getting tired but I wanted to push through it all. As I was running I was looking around until something appeared in front of me making me crash to the ground. "What the hell?!" I yelled standing up to realize it was Pythia standing there. "Hello Brad, nice to see you again." She said with a smile. "Oh, hey. What's up?" I asked dusting myself off. "Tell me about Leias sleeping habits. She said she feels more tired lately but doesn't know why." Pythia said, crossing her arms over her chest. "That is because I don't think she remembers anything. She screams and thrashes in her sleep. My dad and I have to hold her down until it passes and sometimes it takes a while." I replied. "Does she talk or anything?" Pythia asked. "Not really, just screams no or get away over and over again. The last few days have been worse but I think it's because she has been so worried about everyone." I replied. Pythia took a deep breath and looked around. "I'm going to go and get her something to help with that and I'll be back for dinner. Keep watching over her." Pythia said before she disappeared. That teleportation is dangerous and honestly scares the crap out of me but I'm glad she has something that can help Leia, goddess knows we all need the sleep.
