Chapter 24:

Brandon POV:

We have been cleaning up after the fight happened, a lot of people were still recovering and Alley was being incredibly stubborn about not healing herself. I get that she wants to do it normally like we all do but she was hurt pretty badly and could use a boost. I walked into the house and looked over to see Stephen was half asleep leaning against the counter with a cup of coffee. "Hey man, you are about to drop that." I said loudly waking him back up. "Shit.. it's just been a long few days man." Stephen replied, shaking his head. "You look like shit dude. Go get some sleep or something." I said taking his cup from him.  "I have to change Alleys bandages." Stephen replied, rubbing his eyes. "I can do that, you really need some sleep. The pack can't function if you are both down." I said, stopping him. "Alright, just be easy, don't let your eyes wander or I swear I will stab them out. Make sure she puts the herbs on them that Pythia gave her." Stephen replied. I nodded my head and walked towards the stairs, he needed sleep and she needed to get better. When I walked in the room Alley was trying to sit herself up and I ran to the side of the bed. "Are you insane! Stop before I have to call Julie and she kicks both our asses." I said, helping her. "I'm fine, I have to get back to some normalcy." Alley replied.

I shook my head and looked at her, "I'm here to change your bandages and stuff, don't worry Stephen already threatened to rip my eyes out but he needed the sleep." I said. "I can do it, you know, I have arms." Alley laughed before she hissed. "Hush, lay back and just lift your shirt a little bit. Just so I can see." I said grabbing the new bandages and alcohol to clean her wounds with. I looked over and watched her peel back the bandages and tried my best to not cringe, it was different colors but looked like it was healing well. "Looks better I think." I whispered, pouring the alcohol on a gauze pad. "Sorry, I know this part is going to suck." I added before patting the wounds. She hissed at her and stomach tensed and I felt so bad. I worked as quickly as I could to clean it all off, I hated doing this but we didn't want it to be infected. "Alright now rub some of the stuff Pythia gave you and I'll go wash my hands." I said standing up. "Thank you Brandon, you could be my very own nurse." Alley laughed. "Yeah, not sure Stephen would like that idea." I laughed. It amazed me at how close Alley and I got over a short amount of time. "Hey, how is Leia doing, do you know?" I asked. I wasn't sure why I was so curious about her and for whatever reason I couldn't shake that scent from my head. "I haven't called yet, I figured she would want some time to adjust for herself you know. I can't imagine what she went through. Do you have Brads number?" Alley asked.

"Yeah, I do have his number, I'll call him in a little while." I replied walking back out of the bathroom. "I think it's nice that you check in on them. You guys must have gotten close." Alley said. "Yeah, it was just hard watching them go through all of that you know? Like what if that was my daughter or yours? I would be going out of my mind." I replied. "Yeah that's true, I just feel bad that we didn't find her sooner. Pythia won't say what all she had to do." Alley replied. "I know, Leia doesn't want anyone to know so Pythia is holding tight to that." I said. "I can respect that. I just hope she is okay." Alley sighed. "She will be. From what I hear she is one tough lady. Can't wait to meet her one day." I said covering Alley back up. "Now, get some sleep, if you need me, call me. Stephen is sleeping somewhere here and you need to rest. I'll have Beth bring you up something to eat and drink here soon." I said standing back up. "Thanks again Brandon." Alley replied, smiling at me. I walked out of her room and ran straight to the kitchen to see Beth standing there. "I already know, don't worry." Beth said, waving me off. "Thanks Beth!" I replied before walking out of the house.

I wanted to go check in on everyone else to see how things were going, the twins were focusing on the west while Alex was focusing on the east. We had people scattered out everywhere and with Jackson helping Ambrosia and Tye helping Pythia the building reconstruction fell to Alex and I. Not that we minded. It kept us busy for a while. "Hey man, how are things going?" I asked, walking up to Alex. "Good so far, the humans that have helped have supplied extra material in case we need it and a few of them have stayed back to help." Alex replied. I nodded my head and looked around, "It's coming together faster than I thought it would. it looks nice, you did good on the design." I said, patting him on the back. "It's not bad, more upgrades, are you going to help?" Alex asked. "I have to go and check on the twins, unless you want to." I said, smirking. "I'm still trying to figure all that out. Someone is off but not in a bad way you know? I don't know how to figure it out." Alex replied with frustration in his voice. "How old are they?" I asked. "Seventeen I think." Alex replied. "Well what if one of them is your mate? They won't know until they are eighteen but my wolf hasn't really said anything and that is the confusing part." Alex replied. "Look, maybe spend a little time with them. Or do you know which one you feel most weird about?" I asked. "Jenson." Alex replied, shaking his head. "Ah, first name basis?" I asked. "Well I took a little time to kind of study them to figure out which one is which but in a non stalking way I promise. I learned their names." Alex replied.

I nodded, "Alright well maybe see if the two of you can train or something, you know keep it on the low until you know for sure and then go from there." I said. "I just don't want anyone to judge me. Everyone seems to think I'll end up with a girl or be a hoe." Alex scoffed. "Screw what other people think. You know I'd fight over that, you deserve love like the rest of us do." I said. "What about kids? I wouldn't be able to have those and who would take the Beta line?" Alex asked. "Adopt, train them a little harder or something you'll figure it out. Don't stress, it'll all work out fine." I said, bumping his shoulder. "I honestly wish you were my real brother sometimes." Alex laughed. "I am your brother, blood doesn't always make you family." I said. "That's true, go check in on the twins, I've got it covered here for now. Thanks for letting me vent." Alex replied. "It's one of the reasons why I'm here. See you later for dinner." I replied, waving at him. I really did feel bad that he thought that way of himself, no one deserved to feel  like they have to hide who they are, people should just let them be happy.

As I walked across the field I looked around and the amount of damage sucked to see but on the bright side, things were looking up in a better way. "Hey guys." I called out to get their attention. "Hey Brandon." One said. "Okay no wait who is who?" I asked, looking between them. "I'm Jasper and that is Jenson. I keep my hair tied back in a ponytail while his looks like a rats nest on the top of his head." Jasper replied laughing. "Alright, don't fuck wit me one day, it's hard enough to tell you guys apart." I said smiling. "How are things over on the other side?" Jenson asked, looking over my shoulder. "Ah, well Alex could use a little help if you don't mind." I replied. They both looked at each other and when Jenson hesitated Jasper shoved him. "Go, stop being a chicken shit." Jasper said. Jenson flipped him off as he walked away and I smiled. "So you know." Jasper said flatly. "Know what?" I asked. Jasper smiled slightly and nodded. "I respect that, but anyways things are moving faster over here, I do think we have more help than Alex does so when we finish here we will go help him if he still needs it." Jasper replied. "The north could use a little help too, maybe you could divide everyone and send them out." I said. Jasper looked around for a second and then back at me. "I can do that. I say we will be done in a couple hours or so. Just in time for lunch, after that I'll send everyone out." Jasper finally said.

Maybe they weren't as bad as I thought they were. They looked like assholes and rough around the edges but they are actually pretty good guys. "Thanks, if you don't mind me asking. Where are your parents?" I asked. I was actually curious about them. They didn't talk to anyone and no one knew anything about them. "Orphans. Never knew our parents." Jasper replied. "Well if you guys want to hang out with us you can." I offered. ''Thanks, I'll talk to Jenson about it and see what he thinks." Jasper replied. I extended my hand out to him which he took. I turned and walked off. This day turned out to be busier than I thought it would be. I looked over to see Alex and Jenson talking and I smiled to myself. Maybe the two of them could figure out what was going on between them. I mean after all if they are in fact mates people will know soon enough and I had a feeling Jasper would murder someone if they upset his brother. The day seemed long but I knew I had things to take care of quickly.
