Emily’s POV

He proved it to me as he ravaged my insides, his thrusts leaving me gasping, trembling against the balcony railing. His hands gripped my hips with possession, his movements unrestrained, as though his sole purpose was to unravel me completely. Pleasure coiled through me like molten fire, leaving me moaning and writhing, lost in the depths of sensations only he could summon.

When I finally convulsed around him, my body shuddering in the aftermath of a soul-defying orgasm, I slumped against the cool metal railing, unable to stand upright. He caught me before I could fall, holding me steady as I tried to process what had just happened.

"Do you feel convinced now?" he murmured, his lips brushing against my ear as his voice dripped with dark satisfaction. “Or do you need me to prove it some more?”

Before I could muster a response, he swept me into his arms, carrying me bridal style back to the bed I had only recently left. My body felt boneless, utterly exhausted and tingling

Emily's POVThe opulent ballroom shimmered under the glow of crystal chandeliers, its elegance a stark contrast to the venomous whispers swirling around me. Every glance felt like a dagger, every murmured insult a fresh cut. Adrian’s hand rested firmly on the small of my back, his steady presence keeping me grounded, but even his touch couldn’t block out the sting of their words.“She doesn’t belong here.”“A children’s charity? What does she know about children?”“Probably just another gold-digger. I mean, what else could explain her being here with him?”My nails dug into my palm, the pain a poor distraction from the humiliation coursing through me. I tried to focus on the reason we were here, on the children we were meant to help, but the sneers and snickers kept coming, relentless and cruel. Then, a voice cut through the din, loud and unapologetic. “Honestly, why is she even here? She has no children, no family ties. How could someone like her understand the purpose of this event?

Emily’s POVBianca’s approach was deliberate, every step calculated to draw the room’s attention. Cameras swiveled toward her, catching her smirk as she neared us, her golden gown shimmering under the ballroom lights. I could feel Adrian stiffen beside me, his protective arm tightening around my waist.I could recognise the hindrance to my happiness without the shimmer and extra lightening around her, "you didn't tell me she was going to be here," I said as she neared us, her eyes not wavering from where we stood together and I had no doubt that she was taking my man with her eyes, so I did what every human would do, I leaned my head on his chest to add to the loving atmosphere despite the growing tension. “Adrian,” she purred, her voice dripping with faux sweetness. “What a surprise to see you here… and with such interesting company.”"Bitch!" I wanted to scream at her taking how uncivilised she was forcing me to be. The jab hit its mark. The subtle emphasis on “interesting” sent

Adrian's POVAs soon as we stepped through the door, her giggle warmed my chest like a spark igniting a fire. I hadn’t heard Emily giggle this freely before tonight, and knowing I was the cause made me prouder than I cared to admit. She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me, her lips soft and intoxicating. “I had such a great time,” she whispered, her smile lighting up her face.I couldn’t help but grin as I lifted her into my arms. “I’m glad you did,” I said, carrying her up the stairs with ease. Her laughter echoed softly, and she nuzzled against me. “You’re spoiling me, Adrian,” she teased.“I plan to do more than that,” I replied, my tone firm with the weight of my resolve. “It’s time for you to move in officially. No more back and forth. This is your home now.”She blinked, her lips parting slightly as if to protest, but I didn’t give her the chance. Gently placing her on my bed, I knelt to unbuckle her shoes. She shifted slightly, watching me intently.“What’s the point

As I approached my car, the weight of guilt pressed down on me like an anchor. I had left Adrian behind when I could feel, no, see, that he wanted more from me. The image of his piercing gaze—equal parts longing and frustration—lingered in my mind, stirring emotions I didn’t have time to unravel.I opened the car door and slid into the seat, gripping the steering wheel tighter than necessary. A small part of me screamed to turn back, to go to him, explain myself, and stay by his side. But the larger part, the pragmatic side, knew that wasn’t an option. Jessica’s earlier call about an investor pulling out had shifted my priorities. This wasn’t just any investor. It was a major shareholder—a man with enough clout to destabilize the entire board if he followed through on his threats. Worse, he was calling for a meeting, and I knew what that meant. He wouldn’t stop at withdrawing his funds. He’d try to convince others to do the same, leaving the company I had worked so hard to rebuild in r

Emily's POVThe moment they were out of earshot, my phone buzzed in my hand. Adrian’s name lit up the screen, and I felt my cheeks warm involuntarily. I swiped to answer, barely managing to steady my voice.“Hello.”“You sound pleased,” Adrian said, his voice smooth and deep, the kind of tone that always set my nerves alight. “Let me guess—you tore him to shreds in that meeting, didn’t you?”I bit my lip, trying not to sound too proud. “How did you know?”A low chuckle vibrated through the line, sending a shiver down my spine. “I always knew you were exceptional, Emily,” he said, his voice dropping an octave. “I couldn’t stop thinking about you when I first met you, and you proved me right in bed. In fact…” He paused, letting his words linger like a teasing caress.“Adrian, stop,” I whispered, feeling heat flood my cheeks.“I’m not done,” he continued, his voice like honey. “You’re exceptional everywhere, Emily. And now, even in the workplace. Tell me—” his tone turned playful, but th

Emily's POVAdrian’s dark chuckle resonated through the room as he leaned back in the chair, his hands resting on the armrests, but his gray eyes were locked on me, sharp and hungry. “I never knew you were this wild,” he murmured, his voice thick with desire.I smiled, my fingers deftly undoing the first button of my blouse. “You’ve got all the time in the world to learn, love,” I replied, my voice low and teasing. Each button slipped free with deliberate slowness, the fabric parting to reveal the soft lace of my bra. Adrian’s jaw tightened, and I could see his fingers gripping the armrests a little harder.“You’re going to kill me,” he muttered, his gaze following the movement of my hands as I worked my way down the blouse.“No,” I said with a smirk. “I’m going to reward you.”I let the blouse slide off my shoulders, leaving it to pool on the floor behind me. • Bound to the Ruthless Billionaire   Chapter 62 - Double Date

Emily’s POVThe warm glow of the restaurant lights reflected off the wine glasses, casting a cozy ambiance over our table. Adrian had insisted on a double date with Claire and Vincent tonight, and while I loved seeing Claire happy, there was something about the way she avoided meeting my eyes that set me on edge."Are you okay?" I mouthed to her as Adrian and Vincent exchanged friendly banter about work. Claire smiled, but it was thin and brittle, as if the smallest nudge could shatter it."I'm fine," she whispered back. Her tone didn’t convince me.The waiter came by, serving our entrees. Claire poked at her food, and I knew she was far from fine. Then, as if summoning her courage, she looked at Vincent.“I need to say something,” she began, her voice shaky. Adrian fell silent, sensing the change in the air. I put my fork down and reached for Claire’s hand beneath the table.“Go ahead,” Vincent said gently, his dark eyes steady on her.Claire drew a deep breath, her free hand cradlin

Claire’s POVThe air felt stifling as I tried to process what had just happened. Everyone in the room had gone quiet the moment he entered, and for good reason. Larry—or whatever he was calling himself these days—was breathtaking. Broad shoulders, a chiseled jaw, and eyes that once had the power to undo me.But my head was a cacophony of emotions, drowning out the whispers of awe from the other women. This man… This man had put me through hell. The same man who, years ago, promised me the world only to vanish without a trace. The same man who called me a slut when I told him I was pregnant.I clenched my fists, willing my racing heart to calm. No, it can’t be him, I thought, watching as he moved across the room with a confidence that seemed to command attention. He looked at me for the briefest moment, his eyes flickering with something I couldn’t place before looking away like I was just another face in the crowd.Maybe he wasn’t Larry. Maybe he was just a doppelgänger—a cruel remind

Claire’s POVThe antenatal class was a space I’d dreaded since the beginning, but today, the air seemed heavier, thicker with judgmental stares and whispers that buzzed like gnats around my ears.I adjusted my maternity dress as I stepped into the room, my heart thudding louder than my footsteps. A cluster of women huddled in one corner, their conversations halting as their gazes flicked toward me.“Look who decided to show up,” a voice rang out, unmistakable in its biting tone.I turned to see Patricia, her perfectly manicured nails tapping against the armrest of her chair. She had that effortless grace some people never lose, even when their insides are rotten. Once a famous model, she was now a cautionary tale of indulgence turned bitter. Pregnancy hadn’t been kind to her body, and she blamed everyone but herself for the change.Patricia had taken a liking to making me her personal target. Whether it was because I reminded her of her past or because she thought I was an easy victim

Claire’s POVI stared at my phone, the call screen mocking me with its unyielding silence. Voicemail. Again. My thumb hovered over the redial button as a wave of frustration surged through me. For the tenth time today, Vincent wasn’t answering. The man who had once promised me the world, who had sworn to stand by me no matter what, had disappeared as if I were nothing more than a fleeting inconvenience."You’re such a coward, Vincent," I muttered under my breath, my grip tightening on the phone. "You promised me. And now? You’re just gone?"The cold ache in my chest spread to my limbs, but I shook it off. No, I wasn’t going to let him see me like this—broken and pitiful. I grabbed my coat and bag, determination fueling every step as I headed out.His office was my next stop. When I arrived, the sleek, glass-paneled building loomed above me, cold and indifferent. I stepped inside, my heart hammering as the elevator whisked me up to his floor.“Hi, I need to see Vincent Everglow,” I sai

Claire’s POVThe aroma of fresh coffee from the street below wafted through the slightly cracked window of my tiny apartment. I should’ve been up hours ago, but the sharp cramps in my abdomen had chained me to bed. The TV droned on in the background, filling the silence.“...breaking news this morning! Actress Layla Vanroe, known for her role in Empire’s Fire, has announced her engagement to none other than Vincent Everglow!”The mug I cradled in my hands slipped, shattering on the floor. My pulse raced as I grabbed the remote and turned up the volume. My chest tightened as the screen displayed picture after picture of Vincent and Layla, arm in arm, smiling like they belonged in a fairytale.“Fans are already swooning over the couple’s chemistry,” the anchor gushed. “Layla shared this photo on her social media last night, calling Vincent her ‘forever.’ And we’ve got to admit—they look absolutely perfect together.”I stared at the screen, my vision blurring with tears.“I guess I wasn

Emily’s POVThe bathroom was eerily silent, save for the sound of my shaky breaths and the faint hum of the overhead fan. My hands trembled as I clutched the small plastic stick, staring at the two faint pink lines that stared back at me like an answer to a prayer. Two lines.I blinked, tears spilling over onto my cheeks, and let out a choked laugh that sounded almost foreign to my ears. I hadn’t realized I was crying until a tear dropped onto the stick. My vision blurred, but those two lines remained clear, bold, and unyielding. Two years. Two long years of waiting, hoping, and silently mourning every month when the answer was always no. I had wanted to believe it would happen one day, but as time dragged on, doubt crept in.I sank onto the toilet seat, the stick still clutched in my trembling hands, and fumbled for my phone. My fingers moved on autopilot, searching for the one person who would understand the significance of

Emily’s POV“You may now kiss the bride.”The pastor’s voice echoed through the garden venue, and as Adrian cupped my face with gentle, possessive hands, the world around us melted away. Everything—every face, every sound, every moment—blurred into insignificance, leaving just him and me in a universe of our own. His lips captured mine in a kiss so tender yet electrifying that it didn’t feel like the start of something new, but rather the continuation of something eternal. It was a promise, a silent declaration that the past no longer held me hostage. The applause that erupted around us was distant, muffled. Tears brimmed in my eyes, spilling over as our lips parted. But for the first time, these weren’t tears of heartbreak or regret. They were tears of unfiltered, unrestrained joy. This wasn’t just a wedding. It was a rebirth. The scars from my first marriage no longer stung as they once had. They were still there, faint and faded, but they no longer had power over me. This was my se

Adrian’s POVThe cemetery was quiet, the air heavy with the faint scent of rain-soaked earth. Standing before the cold, gray headstone etched with my parents' names, I felt the weight of fifteen years lift off my shoulders. Emily stood just behind me, her hand warm and steady on my shoulder as I knelt to clear away the leaves that had gathered at the base of their grave.“I kept my promise,” I murmured, my voice barely audible in the stillness. “I found the truth. And I made sure they can’t hurt anyone else the way they hurt us.”Emily crouched beside me, her touch grounding me as she placed a bouquet of white lilies on the grave. “They’d be so proud of you, Adrian,” she said softly, her voice brimming with sincerity. “You’ve been through so much, but you turned it all into strength. That’s… that’s incredible.”Her words hit me harder than I expected, and for the first time in years, I felt a lump rise in my throat. I glanced at her, her beautiful face illuminated by the dim sunlight

Emily’s POVSeeing Adrian like this—vulnerable, raw, and on the verge of breaking—filled me with a sadness I couldn’t put into words. My strong, invincible man, the one who always protected me, now needed someone to protect him. I wrapped my arms around him and kissed his temple gently.“You’re strong,” I whispered, stroking his cheek. “But I promise to be stronger for you.”His eyes glistened with unshed tears. It made my chest tighten. I had never seen him this way before, so human and exposed. I wiped a tear that slid down his cheek with my thumb, then tilted my head to tease him.“You know,” I said with a small smile, “I think your tears are more expensive than mermaid tears. You shouldn’t waste them.”Adrian chuckled low, but before I could say anything else, he cupped my face, his lips capturing mine in a deep, soul-searing kiss. He pressed me against the wall, his body heavy and warm against mine, and the kiss turned desperate, almost punishing. I could feel his emotions bleedi

My thoughts churned like a storm, threatening to drown me. I finally broke the silence, my voice low and gruff."I went to see the Grahams yesterday," I said, watching as Vincent's brows furrowed. "I told them I couldn’t go through with Bianca’s demands. That any agreement we had with their family died with Samantha."Vincent leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. "And? How did they take it?"A bitter laugh escaped me. "They dismissed me like I was some rebellious teenager refusing to follow orders. Told me Samantha’s death is in the past, that Bianca wants this, a
