“Tristan!” I screamed, my voice raw with despair. I reached out to him, but he had already collapsed to the ground. His eyes met mine briefly, filled with a mixture of pain and reassurance, as if to say, “I’d do it all over again.”

Tessa, realizing what she had done, dropped the gun and fled, disappearing into the shadows. The room was filled with a stunned silence as the men on both sides watched Tristan, the fearless alpha, lying on the cold, unforgiving floor.

“No.” I whispered, rushing to his side. The world around us faded as I knelt beside him. Blood seeped from the wound, staining his clothes and the dusty ground beneath us. My heart raced, my hands trembling as I tried to stop the bleeding with a piece of cloth.

“Fiona.” Tristan’s voice was strained, weak, but he managed to utter those words as he fought to stay conscious. His loyal men were still engaged fiercely with Tessa’s men, but now they had noticed their alpha was down, and their desperate shouts filled the air.

“Run.”

Fiona“Get over here, you worthless bitch!" Logan’s hand struck my cheek, a slap hitting my face before I even had the chance to move an inch. "Do you think you can escape from me?"Tears welled up in my eyes as Logan, my step father dragged me roughly to the middle of the courtyard. I didn't even try to fight back because I knew it would only make things worse. "Get on your knees!" He barked and I obeyed immediately. "I'm going to show you your place in this house." I watched as my step sister, Martha appeared from the corner with a whip. She had a smirk on her face, which worsened the pain I was feeling. Martha had made it a point of duty to make my life miserable. No matter how much I tried to avoid her, she found a way to ruin my day and get me punished by Logan. "I can't believe she tried to run away," she said, handing my step father the whip. "She's just as useless as her mother." I felt compelled to rise up and hit her for talking about my mother. The urge to make her f

The journey to Blackmoon pack lasted for a whole day. Each passing moment in the car intensified my fear and a wave of uncertainty swept through me. There were a series of incidents that made me question everything about the auction but I was left with no answers. Logan had instructed Martha to give me a dress before the journey. It was a long blue silky dress which complimented the color of my eyes. As I examined the dress, I couldn't help but get emotional. I used to be adorned in such dresses before my mother's death. But I only knew a life of rags and hand me downs since she died. A thousand questions flitted through my mind as I stared at myself in the mirror with the dress. Why had Logan gotten me the dress? If he truly wanted to sell me off to the worst place, why would he make an attempt to make me look beautiful? I tried to come up with an answer during the car ride but I was left even more confused. As dusk was beginning to approach, we arrived at a place which appeared

Fiona"Please, get me out of here!" I yelled weakly, banging the railings of my small cell. It had been two days since I was sold here and I couldn't accept my fate yet. I had cried for the entire night on the first day, begging the guards to let me go. But everything I said fell on deaf ears. They paid no heed to me at all. When I realized that crying wasn't going to help either, I began to cause a scene by hitting the railings of my cell and screaming. I thought that would get their attention but I was wrong. "Shut up, girl!" One of the guards barked at me. "Or I'm going to come shut it for you." He grinned, exposing his yellow teeth and I shuddered. I didn't want him close to me so I retreated back into my cell. My eyes scanned the large prison cell where I and over twenty girls were kept. The girls have been watching me since I got here. They were just as young as I was and some, even younger. But we all had one thing in common; we were poor, hopeless and wretched. I couldn

Tristan"If you don't have an heir soon, the pack may begin to lose faith in you." The words of my Beta and good friend, Michael, rang in my ears again as I sat in the large auction room. I shouldn't be here but I had to be. Michael had assured me it was the one place I would find a solution to my problem. But I was equally shocked to see Alpha's from different packs in the same room, eagerly waiting for the event to start. Could it be that I wasn't the only one with my problem? Or were they just seeking some young bodies to ravage?"I don't like this place." I whispered to Michael who was sitting beside me. "I wish to leave." But Michael disagreed with me. "Alpha, this is the best place to get you a breeder. Remember that we don't have a choice." Of course, I was unaware I had no other choice. Unlike other Alpha's and werewolves who were blessed with the gift of sensing their mates, I couldn't do that. I didn't want to be in a place which reminded me of my predicament but circu

FionaI found myself back in my childhood, a little girl walking hand in hand with my beloved mother through vibrant gardens that stretched beyond my sight. The rose flowers bloomed, and their sweet fragrance filled our noses.“My dear Fiona,” my mother spoke with a gentle smile, “all of this beauty belongs to us, and one day, it will all be yours.”I gazed at her with wonder, my heart filled with warmth and love. “Really, Mother? All of it?” I asked, my young voice full of innocent curiosity. She nodded, her eyes twinkling with love and promise. “Yes, my precious child. Our family has a long history here. We’ve protected it for ages, and one day, it will be yours to protect, too. Always remember this.”In the dream, my father, a figure I had no concrete memory of, appeared before us. He had been taken from me too early in life, but here he was, a strong, caring man, his features softened with love as he lifted me into his arms.“Fiona,” he said, his voice deep and soothing, “you are

FIONAI opened my eyes, surprised at how refreshed I felt after such a deep and peaceful slumber. It was the first time I could remember sleeping so soundly. We had all arrived together the night before. Before I could ask them what was going on, a stern-looking guard entered the room, and the atmosphere changed instantly.“All right, you lot,” the guard barked. “Time to get to work! The household won’t run itself!”The experienced servants sprang into action, knowing their duties without needing instructions. The dim light filtering through the window signaled that night was fast approaching. As I settled into my modest room, my mind began to wander back to the earlier encounter with Alpha Tristan. The words he had spoken to me echoed in my mind, causing a mix of confusion and apprehension. I understood the part about being his slave; after all, he had purchased me from the auction house with an unbelievable sum. But what puzzled me was the expectation that I would do anything he wished. I couldn’t help but wonder what that truly meant.Lost in thought, I pondered the implications of being a slave in his hands. My heart skipped a beat as I feared it might be a repetition of my dreadful past with Logan. However, the day had been relatively better th

It had been seven agonizing months since Fiona had vanished, and it was a period marked by growing feud between us. I couldn’t escape the guilt that gnawed at my conscience. The truth weighed heavily on my heart, poisoning every interaction we had left. Tristan had discovered my dark secret, the reason why Fiona had fled from our home in the first place. I had threatened her life in a fit of jealousy and rage, a secret I’d kept hidden until Tristan’s relentless search for her led him to the damning truth. I was able to hold on to one secret throughout the seven months of Fiona’s escape though. Tristan believed he was the only one searching for Fiona, but he was wrong. FionaIt had now been a few months since my escape from Tristan’s pack, and life had taken a surprising turn. I found myself in a cozy little apartment, nestled deep in a small town, and far away from Tristan’s reach. The surroundings were far from the chaos of Tristan’s pack. I had finally settled into this new life, and it felt great. I’d found a charming garden too to take in natural air, and slowly but surely, I’d settled into my new life. It was as if I’d stepped into a different world, one where I could finally breathe freely, away from the complications of my past.My pregnancy had progressed, and I was now nine months in, the due date looming like a cloud. Despite the constant reminder of Tristan through the mate bond, I had surprisingly little else to worry about. As my men stood in orderly rows, their armor glinting in the soft light. Today was a day of reckoning, a day that would decide our fate. This was the second time we were setting out in search of Fiona, and this time, we were an army, not just a handful of determined men. Tristan and his troops had returned to from their search for Fiona, and my loyal soldier, a trusted confidant, was the key to my hidden agenda. This soldier, whose loyalty to me ran deeper than his allegiance to Tristan, had agreed to venture ahead of the troop and find Fiona before Tristan could, giving me the upper hand. But time was of the essence, and I needed to know the progress of my plot.I summoned Kira, one of my maids, a quiet and cunning girl who could slip through the shadows unnoticed. I handed her a sealed message, my words carefully chosen to avoid suspicion. “Take this to the loyal soldier in Tristan’s troop,” I instructed, my voice hushed. “Tell him to meet me at the secluded grove at midnight. Make sure Tristan suspects nothing.”Kira nodded, her wide eyes reflecting the dim candlelight. “I’ll go at once, Mistress Tessa,” she whispered, and with that, she disappeared into the ni
