Kendall’s POV

It was night already and we knew we couldn’t continue the journey so we decided to lay out the tent and spend the night there.

I was tired already and I was sure the same applied to my mom and sister too. We brought out our tent and then sat down ready to spend the night and continue our journey the next day:

The atmosphere was damp and quiet because we didn’t have anything to talk about. I of all people was mad at Mom for what she said. She could be pushing me into danger all in the name of what an old woman said calling her a seer.

We were this close to safety and I wasn’t willing to lose everything by going back then being killed and everyone I loved too. I wasn’t going to talk to her till she apologized to me.

When the tent was all set we went in and secured the area around it. I sat there calmly and we just watched each other’s faces while my sister ate dinner. Who was going to blame her? She was starving and didn’t have time for all of this unnecessary
