Sadness in her eyes

The sadness in her eyes broke my heart into pieces and for a second, I considered the fact that I was being too harsh on her, and that in turn made me want to punch the wall behind me at that very particular moment.

"You are just getting started with all of us?" She muttered underneath her breath as she fell on her knees to the ground while burying her face in her palm.

I was taken aback by her reaction for a second before she sniffed in her tears and ran her shaky hands through her hair.

"I am sorry for everything that my father did to you and I know that I have not experienced the type of pain that my father had made you pass through but I apologize. I am not apologizing so that you would forgive my father or me and anyone else but I am apologizing because I can't imagine what you must have gone through,"

I darted my eyes off her, the last thing that I wanted was for her to see how pitiful I felt toward her.
